New Nokia Lumia 1020 Ad Touts Camera Capability

Companies would definitely need to do their bit when it comes to advertising their products, so that the masses would be aware of what is going on, and what are the options available for purchase when it comes to filling a need or want. Nokia’s latest ad surrounding their flagship Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone concentrates on one main aspect of this device – the camera itself.

Buttering up the audience by calling them those who “see things differently,” the Nokia Lumia 1020 does come with a camera that is worthy of mention, and in the ad, it touts the seamless integration of the camera alongside Nokia’s software that makes it a truly immersive package to lose yourself in. Needless to say, the ad would tout the capabilities of lossless zoom, not to mention the number of real-time settings which you are able to make with the camera prior to snapping a photo for the road. This 30-second ad spot ends by reminding you that AT&T has a offer with either the Lumia 1020 or Lumia 1520 alongside Nokia’s recently announced tablet, the Lumia 2520 (which we have already reviewed if you want to know more about it). Would such an ad actually cause you to actually consider picking up a Windows Phone-powered device if you have been a staunch Android or iOS supporter all this while?

MOSS Robot Kit Helps You Get Started Even Without Having A Clue

MOSS Robot Kit Helps You Get Started Even Without Having A ClueModular Robotics, a company that hails from Boulder, Colorado, is all set to roll out a collection of robot-building kits to those who are interested, where it would enable you to work on just about any kind of robot that you would like – just use your imagination. Even better is the fact that there is no need for any kind of programming, now how about that? These kits are called MOSS, and they will come in a variety of sizes.

The larger sized MOSS kits will feature pieces that let you build your robot, where all of the plastic has been molded around several exposed magnets and ball bearings, so that connecting them would be a snap. Apart from that, Modular Robotics also has plans to roll out an app which would let you use a compatible mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet to control your semi-autonomous creations. Eric Schweikardt, the CEO and design director at Modular Robotics, mentioned, “It’s trying to give kids education and exposure to these computational components without putting up that barrier.” It is nice to know that what started off as a Kickstarter campaign has already surpassed its goal of $100,000. Expect it to ship in February next year – so if you want to propose to your other half, why not use this creative method then?

Sony Pictures Registered The Last Of Us Movie Domain

Sony Pictures Registered The Last Of Us Movie DomainWhen it comes to video games being turned into movies, it is not often that blockbusters arrive on the silver screen. Rather, it is more or less the case of the movie bombing, while the game itself continues to make tons of money. Remember Mortal Kombat? How about Super Mario Bros.? Even Mario’s widespread appeal could not prevent a box office bomb. Well, Sony does have a pretty decent movie studio, and their forays into Spiderman have proven to be rather lucrative in the past, so they might be casting an eye on turning video games into movies as well. We have seen the Need for Speed trailer before, and before you know it, Sony has been seen registering the domain name for The Last Of Us.

thelastofusmovie.net is now under the care of Sony, which would no doubt spark off plenty of speculation that there is a film version of the extremely cinematic PS3 exclusive coming our way. Of course, it might just be a purchase made on the defensive front for all you know, but I would like to think that Sony has a bunch of far more viable money making plans than this down the road. What do you think?

    Huawei G750 Leaked

Huawei G750 LeakedHuawei, a company that is known for its networking devices as well as slew of smartphones in recent times, just had another smartphone leaked out – namely the Huawei G750. This particular device had its photos leaked, and it does seem as though this handset will run on the MediaTek MT6592 processor, which has been touted to be the first “true” octa-core processor, where all eight cores are able to be active simultaneously, now how about that? Who knows, the Huawei G750 could very well be the exact same device that is known as the Huawei Glory 4, which is also touted to feature the very same MT6592 processor within.

According to MediaTek, this particular chipset is said to consume a whole lot less battery power in comparison to most of the quad-core processors that are found in other high end models today. Other hardware specifications of the Huawei G750 would include a 5.5” display at 720 x 1280 resolution, so no Full HD there if you were wondering. Still, perhaps news of 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory would help it look favorable in your eyes, not to mention a front-facing camera of 5-megapixels and a back shooter of 13-megapixels, in addition to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice.

Man Throws Away Hard Drive With More Than 7,500 Bitcoins Within

Man Throws Away Hard Drive With More Than 7,500 Bitcoins Within Bitcoin, the virtual currency that has gained plenty of attention in recent times, is back in the news, but with a rather unfortunate twist to it. No, I am not referring to its value dropping to less than a dollar, but rather, one man who has spent a few years (since 2009) to mine more than 7,500 Bitcoins, might not be able to receive a single cent for all his effort. According to The Guardian, a certain James Howells of Wales claimed that he threw away an unwanted hard drive which was first installed in a Dell notebook four years back, and that notebook’s main purpose was to mine Bitcoins.

Three years ago, the notebook decided to give up the ghost, and while he took apart the machine for its parts, the hard drive remained in a drawer until he threw it away this summer without realizing the value of its contents. Howells, unfortunately, has no backups available on any of his other drives or USB flash drives. Howells even made the trip to the landfill site located near Newport, Wales in order to look for at least $7.5 million worth of Bitcoins in his hard drive but to no avail. Poor fellow, we hope that he has a slice of fortune that would help turn the situation around.

EA VP: PS5 And Xbox Two To Launch In 5, 6 Years’ Time

EA VP: PS5 And Xbox Two To Launch In 5, 6 Years’ TimeThe dust has yet to settle after the two titans of console gaming, the Sony PS4 as well as the Xbox One, were launched recently, and both of them have also managed to sell more than a million units each in under 24 hours. The PS4 itself was launched a good seven years after the PS3 rolled out, and for the Xbox One, it has been eight long years since the Xbox 360 actually went on sale. EA Studios executive vice president Patrick Söderlund shared, “This console cycle may have gone on a little bit longer than I would have wanted… a five, six year gap is what I expect going forward.”

Hmmm, a five or six year gap? That would be shorter than the previous two consoles’ respective cycles, and it would also mean that you should do your level best to pick up either one or both of the consoles as soon as possible if the next console cycle were to be this short in order to maximize your playing time on either one of them. Still, we do expect the PS3 and Xbox 360 to stick around for some time still, as at the end of their current cycle, there were still quality games that rolled out such as The Last of Us and GTA V, according to Patrick, which is not something that we would have expected a few years back.

NBA Fines Jason Kidd $50,000 For Spilling Drink On Court (VIDEO)

NEW YORK (AP) — Jason Kidd dropped more than a soda in an attempt to delay a game. He ended up dropping $50,000 for the stunt.

The NBA fined the Brooklyn Nets coach on Thursday, saying he intentionally spilled his drink on the court as an unusual stall tactic.

Kidd bumped into Brooklyn reserve Tyshawn Taylor with 8.3 seconds left in the Nets’ 99-94 loss to the Lakers on Wednesday, causing his drink to spill. A video of the fumble showed Kidd appearing to tell Taylor to “hit me” as the guard walked toward the bench, and the resulting delay while the floor was being cleaned allowed the Nets, who were out of timeouts, to diagram a play.
