The One Question Richard Simmons Has For Parents Of Obese Kids (VIDEO)

“This world is just filled with overweight kids. It’s just horrible,” Richard Simmons said between tears during a recent appearance on HuffPost Live.

“A woman will write me and go, ‘My daughter is 12 years old and 215,'” he continued. “I kinda go, ‘Well, how much do you weigh?'”

He says it’s a tough question for most parents to face, but that overweight children are learning their behavior from somewhere, whether it’s from their friends, from television or at home.

5 Obamacare Tax Changes Latino Small Business Owners Should Know

After a shaky rollout of the Affordable Care Act website, small businesses are now thinking ahead, as changes are quickly coming up starting on January 2014. Changes in the way healthcare is accessed, coverage, premiums and new tax credits and fees are just some of the key elements small business owners and their employees are facing.

In the United States, 90 percent of small businesses employ fewer than 20 people. Over 3 million are Latino-owned enterprises. The Obamacare law benefits and protections are mostly important to Latinos, who are the largest group of uninsured or underinsured in the nation. About nine million Latinos will be eligible for coverage, either individually or through small businesses.

Although those with less than 50 employees are not required by the law to offer coverage, many small business owners are choosing to buy insurance for themselves, their families and their employees. Those who are eligible can grab benefits in tax credits.

Watch Comet ISON hurtle toward the sun

Comet ISON is already a celebrity in the cosmos. The huge chunk of rock and primordial ice is on course to make a journey around the sun, and it’s lighting up the heavens along the way. NASA released a short movie showing the comet’s trajectory over the course of five days as it aims for the blazing beast that keeps us all warm down here on Earth.

The movie shows Mercury and Earth for perspective. The sun is off screen to the right. The movie was captured by the Stereo-A spacecraft’s Heliospheric Imager.

Richard Simmons Recalls Being Bullied Severely In High School

In a pre-Thanksgiving appearance on HuffPost Live, legendary fitness guru Richard Simmons opened up about being bullied as a teen.

“When I was in high school and I’d go to the bathroom, they would put lighter fluid under the stall and then light a match to it to burn my legs,” Simmons, 65, said.

Noting a number of anti-bullying organizations he’s working with, Simmons added: “When a child bullies another child, that child learns that bullying from somewhere, from their family or from TV. Bullying leads to nothing.”

Giant Cat Couch Lets You Sit on Your Cat’s Lap

Any cat owner knows just how much cats love human laps. Now you can switch things up and sit on their lap for a change with this massive cat couch. This huge feline comes from Unfold, a design studio in Antwerp, Belgium and it is a cat lovers dream come true.

I call it a couch, but Unfold thinks of it as more of a sculpture. It is appropriately called Felix Domesticus. This is just one of five cat-themed elements of an art installation that the studio assembled in 2010. The 3.5-meter long cat takes up residence in an apartment’s master bedroom, while visitors to the exhibit can sit on it. I wonder what a small house cat would think about this?

Now if they only sold these things, we could all sit and lay on a giant cat, without getting fur all over our clothes.

Wacom Cintiq Companion Hybrid review: a pen display that doubles as an Android tablet

Wacom Cintiq Companion Hybrid review: a pen display that doubles as an Android tablet

After months of rumblings about a standalone slate, Wacom finally unveiled not one, but two tablets back in September. On paper, the Cintiq Companion may be the more compelling mobile workstation, just because it runs Windows, but first, we’re taking a long, hard look at the Cintiq Companion Hybrid. Whereas the other runs Windows, this one is powered by Android and packs a top-of-the-line Tegra 4 chip to help you get work done on the go. Of course, when tethered to a laptop or desktop machine back in the studio, the unit also serves as a traditional pen display like the Cintiq 13HD — but with multitouch gestures.

Creative types are already familiar with Wacom’s prices, but the real question is whether the ability to use it as a mobile device is worth an even higher premium. With a stablemate that’s capable of running a full version of Photoshop, is the Hybrid worth the added investment over the similarly sized 13HD pen tablet? Or are you better off paying more for the Cintiq Companion with Windows instead? %Gallery-slideshow122586%
