Singing Construction Worker Gives Incredible Impromptu Concert After Work (VIDEO)
Posted in: Today's ChiliIt’s been a long work week, but it’s almost time to rip off that suit and tie, let your hair down and indulge in what makes you truly happy.
Take a cue from this construction worker, whose name is Casey, according to a video posted to YouTube on Saturday. After a long day of work, he pulled out his guitar and delighted his coworkers with a surprise jam session — the kind we would expect to hear only from a professional rockstar.
Casey reminds us of Gary Russo, another talented construction worker whose impromptu Frank Sinatra performance at a New York City subway stop went viral in 2011.
Transit Union: Put The Brakes On Ventra Rollout Until Glitches Get Sorted Out
Posted in: Today's ChiliJust stop it.
That’s the gist of the message the local transit worker’s union has for the Chicago Transit Authority regarding its rollout of the new Ventra payment service which has been marked by an array of glitches and customer complaints since it began in September.
“Don’t use the riding public as guinea pigs,’’ Amalgamated Transit Union Local 308 President Robert Kelly said according to the Sun-Times. During the Thursday news conference, Kelly called for the CTA to halt the Ventra rollout until officials could ensure it works properly.
The New York Times issued a correction on Friday, and it definitely ranks among the newspaper’s very best.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — As frustrated as Michael Jordan has been over the Charlotte Bobcats’ lack of success, he said tanking games to get a high pick in next year’s NBA draft isn’t the way to fix a rebuilding franchise.
The Bobcats owner scoffed at the idea Friday, telling The Associated Press, “I don’t know if some teams have thought of that. That’s not something that we would do. I don’t believe in that.”

Over the last few weeks, a giant barge turned up in San Francisco Bay that was tipped to be owned by tech giant Google. Early on rumors indicated that it was a floating data center but a local San Francisco CBS affiliate KPIX 5 now claims that the giant barge isn’t a data center after all. The station reports that multiple sources have told it Google actually has luxury showrooms and a giant party deck on the barge.
The Google barge was reportedly in the planning stages for over a year. The sources also tipped that the project was personally directed by Sergey Brin and is Google’s attempt to upstage Apple and the company’s high-end retail stores around the country.
The barge is stacked with interchangeable 40-foot-long shipping containers to create a sort of modular building that can be rearranged as needed. The individual containers can also be placed on other barges, trucks, or railcars and taken wherever they’re needed. The high-end showrooms will reportedly be used to show Google gadgets such as Google Glass to invitation only customers. The party deck is said to have multiple bars and other amenities for entertaining clients.
