Conservative Groups Driving GOP Agenda

WASHINGTON — WASHINGTON (AP) — Virtually unknown outside Washington, a coalition of hardline conservative groups is fighting to seize control of the Republican agenda.

Tea party allies like the Club for Growth, FreedomWorks and Heritage Action for America showed their might by insisting that the GOP embrace the government shutdown that hurt the nation’s economy and the party’s reputation.

This Couple Has The Swaggiest Baby Announcement On The Block

Move over, Bey and Jay. There’s a new hip-hip couple in town, and they have an announcement to make — a baby announcement.

Performed by new parents, Jalene and Lincoln Taylor of North Salt Lake City, Utah, “Taylor Baby” has taken the Internet by storm. According to TODAY Moms, the couple got the idea from the satirical “Swagger Wagon” music video made by Toyota to promote the Toyota Sienna.

The goal of the video wasn’t an amazing performance, Jalene told TODAY. They just wanted to make friends and family laugh. With sweet rhymes like “Whether it’s a sweet baby girl or cute baby boy, gotta bun in the oven and we’re overjoyed” over a sick beat, we have to say: mission accomplished.

Moms Protest Air Pollution In Colorado With ‘Gas Patch Kids’

A group of Colorado moms took an eye-catching approach to protesting Colorado’s current air quality regulations this week when they showed up at Gov. John Hickenlooper’s (D) office with Cabbage Patch Kids dolls, which they’ve renamed “gas patch kids” to represent real children living in areas impacted by the surge of oil and gas drilling in the state.

The Colorado Moms Know Best group showed up with a petition signed by over 8,000 Colorado moms. It called for Hickenloooper to implement “common sense yet innovative standards to control oil and gas emissions, which can harm kids’ health,” according to a statement from the group.

“We were shocked and angry when learned that after almost a year of meetings, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is recommending air pollution rules that are weaker instead of stronger,” Jaime Travis of Colorado Moms Know Best said in a statement. “The bottom line is that moms are counting on Gov. Hickenlooper to protect the health of our kids.”
