The ARK Claims To Be 20% Faster Than Normal Wireless Chargers

The ARK Claims To Be 20% Faster Than Normal Wireless ChargersWireless chargers are not new, and for the most part they’re not as “free” as their cabled counterparts namely because you will need to place the device on the charger itself for it to charge, as opposed to “true” wireless charging where your phone will start charging as soon as it is within range, much like what you would expect from wireless speakers, for example. However there are advantages, such as no accidentally tripping over wires, and for those who are in the market for a fast wireless charger, the folks at BEZALEL have announced their own wireless charger, the ARK. Meizu To Share European Expansion Details At MWC 2014

Meizu To Share European Expansion Details At MWC 2014The US market is a market that many companies are hoping to break into, and Meizu is one of them. The company announced last month that they were planning a big push into the US, but it looks like the US market is not the only market they have their sights on. According to the company, it seems that they are looking to make an entrance into the European market as well and will be announcing their plans to do so at MWC 2014 which will be taking place in the later part of February. According to Sierra Ma, Meizu’s head of international business, the company will officially announce which countries in Europe they will be officially entering, and on top of that will attempt to edge out the competition like Samsung by making their handsets 30% cheaper.

The kick things off, the Meizu MX3 will be one of the phones the company will be bringing to the US. The handset packs a 5.1” display with an odd resolution of 1800×1080 and will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 5 processor, 2GB of RAM, an 8MP camera, and will run on Meizu’s custom Android UI. However it is also expected that Meizu could introduce a much higher-end model, one with a display that will offer over 500PPI, joining the likes of manufacturers such as Oppo and Vivo, both of whom have announced devices with 2K resolution displays as well. Either way if you love what Meizu has been doing and were hoping you could get your hands on their products in Europe, it looks like 2014 will be your chance to do so.

South Korean Credit Rating Bureau Experiences Data Breach Of 20 Million Personal Details

South Korean Credit Rating Bureau Experiences Data Breach Of 20 Million Personal DetailsIt almost seems like there’s nobody that you can trust these days. From governments spying on its own citizens, to retailers getting hacked, it seems like the world is just not safe anymore. Looking to add fuel to the fire is a report where personal details of over 20 million South Koreans might have been exposed after an employee at a credit ratings firm was arrested on suspicion that they might have taken confidential information and sold it to marketing firms. Given that marketing firms base their strategies on the behaviors of consumers which involves knowing who their consumers are in terms of age, income, gender, and so on, no doubt the stolen information would be a huge boon in their marketing efforts.

Based on the reports, the perpetrator was a temporary consultant who worked for the Korea Credit Bureau and is suspected to have stolen information from a variety of credit cards, such as KG Kookmin Card, Lotte Card, and NH Nonghyup Card. The stolen information was then allegedly sold to phone marketing companies. According to the Korean Financial Supervisory Service, they promised that the credit card firms will be covering any financial losses that might have been a result of the crime. To put this into perspective, the population of South Korea is at 50 million, meaning that almost half of the country had its information stolen and sold, which we have to say is a pretty damn big deal.

Sony To Make Tennis Sensor A Reality, Will Launch In May

Sony To Make Tennis Sensor A Reality, Will Launch In MayEarlier this month, Sony unveiled the tennis sensor at CES 2014. At the time of unveiling, Sony stated that the device was merely a prototype as opposed to an actual product that consumers could go out and purchase for themselves. Well the good news is that it looks like the response must have been good enough where Sony has decided to actually turn the tennis sensor into reality. Dubbed the Smart Tennis Sensor, unfortunately it seems that the device will only be available in Japan and will see a release this May and will be priced at around $175.

For those hearing about this for the first time, the sensor is basically a little gadget that is attachable to the base of a tennis racket. By attaching it to be the base, the sensor will be able to pick up a variety of information from the player, such as the speed at which the ball is hit, how hard it is being hit, and where on the racket it is being hit, all of which should help the player learn from their mistakes. According to Sony who announced the sensor’s availability in Japan, the sensor will be compatible with around six Yonex EZone and VCore tennis rackets, but additional racket compatibility will be added after launch.

Pretty cool stuff and with the Australia Open currently underway, we’re sure there are many players, both pro and aspiring, who might be feeling particularly motivated to up their game!
