Over in the US, the 15th of April is the deadline in which people will have to file their taxes. This is pretty much a non-issue for most people, but at the same time for those who have been trading Bitcoin, what does this mean for them? Should they file Bitcoin as currency, capital gains, or can it be taxed at all (we guess this is obvious since it can be considered a source of income, much like trading shares and gaining interest)?
These questions have been around for a while as governments have been working and trying to decide what to do about the crypto currency since it’s a relatively new thing and firm regulations have yet to be put into place. Well wonder no more because the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has since announced that Bitcoin is considered property and will be taxed in the same manner. (more…)

It is safe to say that Facebook’s recent (surprising) announcement that they would be acquiring Oculus VR caught many by surprise. After all Facebook has never really expressed that much interest in gaming, save for the Facebook Games feature, not to mention there has not been any indication that Facebook was even remotely interested in the company to begin with.
In fact Facebook’s acquisition of companies like WhatsApp and Instagram made perfect sense since they had to do with communications and social media, but as is the case with most acquisitions, this was not an overnight decision, nor was it an impulsive one either. (more…)

Apple and Samsung’s legal battles have spanned across many countries around the world, and so far both companies have won some and lost some. In the US, however, it looks like Apple might have won, and it seems that over in Tokyo, things aren’t going that well either for Samsung.
According to a recent ruling by Tokyo’s District Court, they have ruled that Apple did not infringe upon Samsung’s data communications patents and will not have to pay Samsung any damages. The lawsuit had originally targeted Apple’s iPad 2, iPhone 4, and the iPhone 4S. (more…)

Apple’s first ever iPhone was launched in 2007 about seven years ago, leading to the creation of one of the most iconic smartphones to date, despite what its critics and detractors have to say about it. We also know that the iPhone has managed to outsell its previous generation with every new release, but how many iPhones has Apple sold to date?

As many have probably heard by now, Facebook recently announced a surprising acquisition of Oculus VR, the company behind the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. This has big implications not just for Facebook, who will now be expanding into new territory, but also for developers who have/had plans to develop games for the Oculus Rift.
Now according to a recent tweet by Minecraft’s creator, Markus “Notch” Persson, it seems that he did not take the acquisition too well and has since announced the cancellation of Minecraft for the Oculus Rift. “We were in talks about maybe bringing a version of Minecraft to Oculus. When you think of hackers hacking ATMs, you probably envision them holding tools that plugs into the ATM, or perhaps create ATM card skimmers that lets them steal account information and passwords. Well in a surprising hack discovered by security vendor, Symantec, it seems that hackers have found a way to make a certain type of ATM spew out cash via text message.
The ATM brand in question remains a mystery which we guess is a good thing since it would probably create a lot of panic if it were revealed, not to mention the backlash banks using that brand would get if it was discovered as well, although then again the public does have the right to know, don’t they?
