New Logitech Ultrathin For iPads Announced

New Logitech Ultrathin For iPads AnnouncedLogitech has taken what they thought to be the best in its class and hope to make it even better, by upgrading the top selling keyboard cover for iPad that is known as the Logitech Ultrathin. This particular accessory will be made available for the iPad Air (retailing at $99.99 each) as well as for the iPad mini and iPad mini with Retina display (that are going for $89.99 a pop), arriving in the US and Europe later this May. The Logitech Ultrathin will improve upon its predecessor’s design, being an even lighter and thinner keyboard cover while sporting a new multi-angle slot which would add to the overall freedom when it comes to adjusting the viewing angle.

Considering how the iPad is being used more and more as a content creation device instead of one that just consumes, the Logitech Ultrathin does make sense to keep your tablet company. The new multi-angle slot will securely attach to your iPad via a magnetic clip, letting you tilt it at the ideal angle so that you end up with a comfortable typing experience via its Bluetooth keyboard. There are also well-spaced keys alongside an optimized layout, not to mention iOS shortcuts to make your life easier since this is one instance where familiarity does not breed contempt. It measures just 6.4mm thin and is approximately 67% the weight of the iPad

Cat Cafés Finally Coming To The U.S.

Cat Cafe, JapanWe believe cat cafés were originally a Japanese concept;
at least the world press has given the Japanese credit for them.
According to reports, they are very popular in Tokyo, where a soul can
readily get a yen for cat cuddling in the anonymity of the city.  So
too, the folks in New York City might want to get a little free love
during their coffee or tea breaks, but a tip may be required. Cat cafés will open in the U.S. this year, but the competition for the very first cat café is close…

HTC One M8 Mini Rumored For Verizon Release

HTC One M8 Mini Rumored For Verizon ReleaseIt does seem to be the prevailing trend these days, where smartphone companies come up with a “mini” version of their respective flagship handsets instead of calling it by a totally different device name altogether.

I would suppose that this has something to do with not having to spend that much more money to market a new product name – just shrink down the existing design somewhat, remove or dumb down some features here and there, and voila! You have got a mini version of the current smartphone.

The alleged HTC One M8 mini is touted to roll out in Europe and Asia later this May, but what about those of us living Stateside? @evleaks has shared that the “HTC One M8 mini” is indeed “going to Verizon” via Twitter.

It makes some sense, really, considering how Verizon is already selling the original HTC One M8 that has picked up its fair share of bouquets ever since it rolled out.

As for the rumored hardware specifications, the HTC One M8 mini ought to be a mid-range smartphone that has a 4.5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6.0 UI, a 13MP rear camera, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor at 1.7GHz, 1GB RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.

Ridiculously powerful handheld cannon blows up on the street

Ridiculously powerful handheld cannon blows up on the street

Never get in a street fight in Poland because you never know what kind of garage made weapons they’ll bring out against. Like this makeshift cannon that can bring the boom like no other. The noise alone is intimidating. Eastern Europe seems like such a fun place for crazy people to do crazy stuff in the middle of the day.

Airbnb Removes 2,000 Plus New York City Rental Listings

Airbnb Removes 2,000 Plus New York City Rental ListingsAirbnb must have been sick and tired of being on the receiving end of grievances from cities that claim how the business model of short term rentals among its customers are not only illegal, but are also a ‘drain’ on the community. This has led to Airbnb doing away with over 2,000 New York City listings which have yet to offer a quality, local experience to guests (do remember that Airbnb intends to target the “premium hotel experience” as according to what they shared last month). Airbnb has yet to clarify on what this listing removal means, but it happened after the state Attorney General filed an affidavit that supports a subpoena for Airbnb customer info. In that particular filing, it touts that 67% of NYC rentals happen to break the law through the act of subletting a whole apartment without having the official tenants present. Not only that, the 17 hosts who are allegedly the biggest abusers of this system has been named and shamed.

Airbnb still loves their Shared City initiative, citing that cities such as Amsterdam, Hamburg and Paris “have embraced home-sharing and Shared City is our effort to do even more to make cities around the world even stronger.” Airbnb believes that this would make neighborhoods “better places to live, work and visit.” We do wonder what Airbnb will do on the legal front to go up against what they’re facing at the moment.

Oculus Rift Gives You A Taste Of The USS Voyager Bridge

Fans of the Star Trek universe, heads up! Literally, of course, since here we are with something from the Oculus Rift that might make you get lost for hours on end as you explore the bridge of the USS Voyager from the Star Trek series. Just to recap, the Oculus Rift happens to be a virtual reality headset that is being developed at the moment, enabling gamers to be able to immerse themselves in their favorite games, being in the virtual world for an enhanced gameplay experience. I would suppose it is not too much different from what most modern day city folk do these days – walk and drive around while looking at their smartphones, communicating on tablet over the dining table without carrying out a real world conversation with those around.

The Oculus Rift would be able to up the ante even further, and the USS Voyager bridge program is the brainchild of a certain Thomas Kadlec. Kadlec shared, “I’m a huge Oculus Rift fan, Star Trek fan, and Unreal Engine 4 [software framework for the development of video games] fan.So I just figured I’d mix those all together!”

This particular USS Voyager bridge demo enables one to “walk around a fairly accurate recreation of the Voyager’s bridge … [staring] out into space as you whiz past distant stars.” It would be cool if there was a segment programmed within, as your ship gets attacked halfway and you would need to respond by issuing commands from the bridge itself.
