This 80s Version of the Game of Thrones Theme Is Totally Radical

If you think about it, the battle for control over the lands of Westeros would totally still make sense if it were set in the 1980s. It now even has an appropriate remix of its theme song as written and performed by Steve Duzz.

Scientists Swapped a Toxic Chemical in Solar Cells For a Tofu Ingredient

Scientists Swapped a Toxic Chemical in Solar Cells For a Tofu Ingredient

Thin-film solar cells promise to bring flexible, low-profile solar power to all kinds of surfaces. Unfortunately, constructing thin-film panels requires cadmium chloride, a finicky, expensive, and toxic material. Now, University of Liverpool scientists have figured out how to make solar cells using magnesium chloride, a compound so innocuous, it’s actually used in the production of tofu.

Watch Plastic Ocean Junk Become a Pair of Wild Multi-Colored Sneakers

That our poor oceans are overflowing with our disgusting floating garbage is not news, but we keep on keeping on disposing of a crazy amount of non-biodegradable trashola—and lightly worn wardrobes. Your Shoes Are Rubbish represents one small step towards increasing awareness of the massive problem; these kicks were made entirely from washed up junk.

GoPro’s Dual Hero Accessory Will House Two HERO+ Black Cameras

pdp image DualHeroSystem PDP 2 640x340Can’t decide between taking photos or taking videos with your GoPro camera? Well perhaps the GoPro Dual Hero System might be of interest to you then. This is an accessory designed for GoPro’s HERO+ Black camera and basically what it does is that it allows two HERO+ Black cameras to be held in one housing together, as you can see in the image above.

Why would anyone want to do that? Well like we said earlier, one of the benefits is that such a setup will allow you to take both photos and videos simultaneously. So if you wanted some still footage along with your video footage, you will be able to do that as well. In fact, according to GoPro, having a dual camera setup will also allow you to create 3D content which you can do so using GoPro’s editing software.

Now you’re probably wondering, how will I be able to control two cameras at once? Does it mean that both cameras need to have their shutter release pressed at the same time? Have both settings adjusted so that they’re the same? Well no, because the setup will allow for a single interface control where one camera will control the other camera’s settings, so you won’t have to fiddle with too many controls at once.

Apart from that, the Dual Hero system will be waterproof as well, just like GoPro’s other camera housings, so if you were hoping to use it underwater, you will be able to do so as well. If you think this is a cool setup you’d like to have, you can head on over to GoPro’s website to get your hands on it for $200. The HERO+ Black cameras will be sold separately.

World Of Warcraft Human Model Gets A Visual Update

human model wow 640x411One of the bigger changes that Blizzard will be making to World of Warcraft with their upcoming expansion, Warlords of Draenor, isn’t so much the content itself, but rather the image of the game. Given that World of Warcraft is a pretty old game, safe to say there are some graphical improvements that Blizzard could stand to address, which is exactly what they are doing.

Previously we reported on some of the changes that Blizzard has made to character models like the Tauren and Night Elf, and now it looks like it is the Human’s turn. On the World of Warcraft blog, Blizzard’s art director for World of Warcraft, Chris Robinson, dives into some of the details and changes that they will be making to the Human model.

Just like the other two races, Blizzard will be giving the Human model more facial expressions than before. This will make their faces look less static and more expressive. Also for an added touch of realism, Blizzard has given the Human male model some chest hair, which we guess helps them look more “manly”.

According to Robinson, “The male Human has long been a source of criticism from some of you for his odd proportions and face geometry. We’ve taken great care to ensure we’re not changing so much that he looks completely unlike anything you’d expect, while also correcting some of the more glaring problems.” Blizzard notes that while the models are far from ready, some of the in-progress models will be making its way into the alpha soon, so if you’re lucky enough to have access to it, you might want to keep an eye out for the updated models.

Ryse 2 Cancelled Due To Disagreement Between Microsoft & Crytek [Rumor]

ryse 640x320Back in 2013, developer Crytek showed off their game for the Microsoft Xbox One in the form of Ryse: Son of Rome. As expected of Crytek, the game looked quite flawless in terms of its graphics and based on what we can see, proved to be a pretty gory action game as well. Now we’re sure some gamers are thinking that if it looked this good now, what will the sequel to the game look like?

Well we have some bad news for you. According to a series of reports, it seems that the sequel to Ryse: Son of Rome might have been cancelled and might never surface. This is apparently due to issues between Microsoft and Crytek. The issues in question are related to intellectual property and apparently Microsoft agreed to fund Ryse 2 but only if they could buy the Ryse IP from Crytek as well.

However Crytek felt that this is a franchise that they are not willing to sell, which is why Microsoft might have decided not to fund the game in the end, which means that Ryse 2 may not happen. According to a Microsoft spokesperson, they claim that the company “nothing to announce about the future of the franchise at this time.”

This is amidst rumors that Crytek might be filing for bankruptcy, and that many employees of the company have been handing in their resignation. However we should note that all of this are rumors at this point in time, but we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information. In the meantime what do you guys think? Are you disappointed that there might not be a Ryse 2?
