The Healing Potion of Hope

Shakespe2014-07-31-hope.jpgare said, “Hope is a great healing potion.” We can all agree Shakespeare knows a thing or two about potions.

Some days when I feel defeated, hope is the only thing that can coax me out of my mindset. It has a way of challenging me to consider the best possible outcome of my dilemma.

I came across this uplifting, anonymous quote: “Hope is the little voice you hear whisper ‘maybe,’ when it seems the entire world is shouting ‘no.'”

For me hope begins with that subtle whisper, then speaks with full-fledged conviction. With hope, I begin to trust.

The secret of hope is that it’s within you. That’s where it thrives, and will seek you out.

As Emily Dickenson puts it: “Hope is that thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tune without words and never stops at all.”

Jon Stewart Explains The Most Outrageous Corporate Tax Dodge Yet

It’s the corporate tax loophole that could be costing you billions. American companies are quietly changing their paperwork to make it seem as if they’re no longer U.S. companies but instead owned by one of their overseas subsidiaries.

It’s called a corporate inversion. Or, as Jon Stewart described it on Wednesday night’s “Daily Show,” it’s “the business equivalent of gender reassignment.”

“It’s a liberating procedure for companies that have been raised American, but know in their heart they’re really Irish,” he said.

So how does it work? Stewart offers the perfect example in the clip above.

Robin Roberts' Alleged Stalker Arrested In New York

Police have arrested a man they say was stalking Robin Roberts, one of the hosts of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Page Six reports that 43-year-old Troy Warren turned up at the ABC studios in New York eight times between June 10 and June 24 and demanded to see Roberts.

When I see her I’m going to punch her in the face,” Warren allegedly told GMA security director Michael Centrella, according to Page Six.

Court records posted online say Warren was arrested on Monday on charges of 4th-degree stalking, a misdemeanor, and is being held on $3,000 bail at Manhattan Detention Complex.

His next scheduled court date is Aug. 4.

The arrest comes just weeks after another alleged stalker turned up at ABC with a kitchen knife and threatened to kill Michael Strahan, a football Hall of Famer and the co-host of “GMA” and “Live With Kelly and Michael.”

kingsing w8The world of tablets is mainly split into two different factions – on one side of the coin we have the Android platform, while on the other side, there will be Apple’s iOS fighting the good fight. How about having a decent Windows tablet to flood the market? So far, Microsoft’s Surface takes pole position in the Windows tablet market share, and perhaps those might be too pricey for the masses. If you are looking for something that is easier on your wallet, then you might want to check out the Kingsing W8.

The Kingsing W8 will go on sale for a mere $99 a pop, now how about that for being extremely affordable? You will, however, be able to take advantage of a quad-core 1.8GHz Intel Bay Trail-T processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, an SD memory card slot for expansion purposes, an 8” IPS LCD display at 1280 x 800 resolution, 2MP cameras in front and at the back, 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 support, microUSB and microHDMI ports, and a 4,500mAh battery.

Heck , it will even run on Windows 8.1 with Bing, making it a whole lot more functional than Windows RT.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue Listed

rogueIt was in March earlier this year that there was report of a new Assassin’s Creed game, where that particular title carried the codename Comet. Comet underwent development to be released on both the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms, and this time around, it looks like there is going to be another Assassin’s Creed title, having listed by a Swiss retailer listed under the guise of Assassin’s Creed Rogue.

Needless to say, the listing has already been removed ever since it appeared, but not before folks were alert enough to catch this particular listing and capturing a screenshot of it. Swiss retailer World of Games did have Assassin’s Creed: Rogue listed, and unfortunately, even the Google Cache has also made a disappearing act.

It looks like Assassin’s Creed Comet is now possibly known as Rogue, where word on the street has it that this particular title will see players take on the role of a Templar who is simply known as Shay. The title is also said to be set in New York around 1758, and players will have a chance to sail the Atlantic Ocean – which should be a treat, really, considering how the Atlantic Ocean should be free from all sorts of pollutants. It is also believed that Rogue might be a hybrid between Assassin’s Creed 3 and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’s Freedom Cry DLC.
