Girl Sent Nude Selfie To Dad By Accident

nudie dadSending selfies seem to be all the rage these days, so much so that Sony Mobile has even launched the world’s first selfie smartphone, the Xperia C3. Unfortunately, sometimes the fingers move faster than the brain, as in the case of Nyjah from the US who sent a nude selfie of herself to her dad by accident. Needless to say, upon realizing her mistake, she started to ask around just how one is able to “undo” that particular action, and you can check out the response from Nyjah’s dad in the image on the right.

Obviously, dad was far from amused and had some pretty straightforward questions that arrived in her direction. I guess her boyfriend isn’t going to win any brownie points with dad at all, considering how the nude selfie was meant to arrive on his phone in the first place. Of course, this just goes to show how one should always think before sending anything out – whether it is posting something on a social network or to send an email, photo or attachment. Needless to say, the choice of media that you would send which could be potentially incriminating down the road might be worth thinking over as well.

Do you think that selfies can be considered as a mental disorder as claimed by the American Psychiatric Association?

2 Samsung Smartphones Spotted On GFXBench

samsung benchmarksSamsung is well known for rolling out a wide range of smartphones that will cater for just about everyone regardless of their budget, starting from the entry level to the mid-range and going all the way to the flagship range. This time around, a pair of unreleased Samsung smartphones that go by the model numbers SM-G5308W and the SM-G8508S have appeared on GFXBench, where the SM-G5308W seems to be a mid-range device on the lower tier that will be powered by the first 64-bit mobile chipset from Qualcomm, which is the Snapdragon 410. As for the SM-G8505S, it could very well prove to be a competitor to the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. Just what do these benchmark figures reveal?

Apparently, the Samsung SM-G8508S will sport a 4.7” 720p touchscreen display, either a 12MP or 13MP camera at the back, a 2MP shooter in front, and what will most probably be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 beating right in the middle of the action. It is tipped that the quad-core processor will be clocked at 2.45GHz, which is possible with the Snapdragon 801 chipset. Apart from that, the SM-G8505S will be accompanied by 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS support, NFC capability, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat as the mobile operating system of choice.

Alleged iPhone 6 Rear Shell Images Leaked, Might Sport NFC

iphone 6 rear shell 1 640x427As we brought you word of a video of the purported iPhone 6’s rear shell earlier today, there were also photos that were provided by the good people over at Feld & Volk. As mentioned earlier, Feld & Volk happen to be a company based in Moscow, Russia, who happens to sell modified luxury versions of the iPhone. Hence, it is not surprising to hear that they have gotten hold of what looks like the purported iPhone 6 rear shell. Check out the full photo gallery of the upcoming iPhone 6′s rear shell right after the jump.

According to Feld & Volk, they have been working with the very same factories that actually churn out spare parts for Apple devices for over a dozen years now, and the rather numerous screw holes that you see in the image gallery? Those apparently hail from the manufacturing process, and will not be there in the final production when the rear shell is properly done.

Feld & Volk also figures that the Apple logo is not there just for aesthetic purposes as well, since it could very well hold a Near Field Communications (NFC) antenna. The antenna breaks in the alleged rear shell were also mentioned to be made out of a “non-conductive polymer” that will help insulate the various antennas stuffed within from one another.

Treasure Hunter Receives Metal Detector Send Off

metal detector funeralFunerals are sombre events, and for some of us, there will be a guard of honor to provide a final farewell. As for metal detectorist Jonny Burgin, he would definitely appreciate the efforts made by his friends from the Amber’s Digs metal detector group, as they formed a guard of honor that had not swords nor rifles, but actual metal detectors lifted high above his coffin as his body entered the church.

This is a fitting send off for Jonny who spent a fair amount of his time walking through the country’s fields and beaches in his never ending quest for buried treasures. Thankfully he did not experience the kind of shock that the man and his ward did at the beginning of Pacific Rim, when one of the Jaegers stumbled onto land after having one of its pilots ripped away from a terrible kaiju attack.

This funeral arrangement proved to be a fitting and uplifting celebration of Jonny’s colorful character, that is for sure. His widow, Anne, shared, “He started with friends when he was very young and just kept doing it. He used to go to the beach all the time. He loved the thrill of finding something, then discovering its history. His dream was to find a gold coin, but it never happened. “He was very into the Roman era and found quite a few coins – nothing to make him rich, but he was happy enough.”

Would you as a gamer like to have a row of keyboards act as part of your guard of honor?

Bell Labs Achieve 10Gbps Record Over Traditional Copper Telephone Lines

fastest internet 640x640Just how fast can your copper telephone line carry data to your computer? I clearly remember those good old days of 14.4k baud modems with the terrible screeching that they made while dialing in, and loading a nice JPEG of Cindy Crawford took forever. However, the wizards at Bell Labs have managed to push the envelope the farthest possible to date with the humble copper telephone line, having achieved a record of 10Gbps along the way.

Just what kind of tools did Bell Labs have at their disposal? Well, they made use of a couple of pair of standard phone cables that measured 30 meters in length in order to hit this mind blowing speed – definitely not something that I would have envisioned, even today. It is said that this technology, when refined, might eventually be adapted in order to deliver a whopping 1Gbps to customers in real-world usage situations, and could help lower the amount of expensive fiber optic cable required when it comes to giving Internet speeds in congested cities much needed boost.

An analyst claims that this technology falls short of solving the seemingly perennial issue of slow net speeds for majority of the users, so it might not be all that it is drummed up to be.
