Wandering through the bitfields, I just came across this 1995 photograph of Michael Gernhardt floating 200-miles over the Earth on a six-hour spacewalk. I zoomed in and looked in awe for a couple of minutes, pondering the chain of events, the Herculean effort that put and kept this man alive in space.

As we had revealed earlier this month, Titanfall’s next DLC is titled Frontier’s Edge and for those who have been looking forward to the DLC, well you might be pleased to learn that Frontier’s Edge is now live and gamers who want to check it out will be able to purchase it and download it starting today.
The DLC will introduce a trio of maps which includes Dig Site, Export, and Haven, and is part of Titanfall’s Season Pass. For those who did not subscribe to the Season Pass, the DLC is available as a one-off purchase where it is priced at $9.99. The DLC is available at the moment on the PC and Xbox One platforms, with the Xbox 360 version to follow shortly.
For those who forgot, the version of Titanfall developed for the Xbox 360 is not developed by Respawn Entertainment. Instead it has been developed by another company, but so far according to reports, the Xbox 360 version of the game has offered up a true experience. It was also mentioned that because of this, DLCs for the Xbox 360 will typically be released after the PC and Xbox One.
No word on when the Xbox 360 DLC will be released, but for the sake of Xbox 360 gamers, you guys won’t have to wait too long. In the meantime if you’re interested in seeing what you can expect from the DLC, check out the gameplay trailer in the video above.

Recently we talked about a gaming mouse from Logitech in the form of the G402 Hyperion. As far as gaming mice are concerned, it is a pretty affordable mouse given its features, but if you’re looking for something even cheaper, Microsoft has you covered. The Redmond company has recently taken the wraps off the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 Halo Limited Edition: The Master Chief.
While not exactly the shortest name as far as mice are concerned, it’s basically a small wireless mouse that is small enough to take with you while you’re out traveling. Gaming mice tend to be pretty big and bulky, but if you wanted something smaller and more portable than this might do the trick.
This isn’t strictly a gaming mouse per se, but the Halo theme should appeal to gamers who are fans of the franchise. According to Microsoft, the mouse will sport an ergonomic design, 2.4GHz wireless technology, a two-color battery light indicator, and will also feature BlueTrack Technology which basically allows the mouse to be used on any type of surface.
According to Microsoft, this includes granite, marble, carpet, and wood. For those interested in getting their hands on the mouse, GameStop is taking pre-orders for it where it will be priced at $29.95 and is expected to be made available this October.

The concept of wireless charging is great because it means that you won’t have to fiddle about with wires when you need to charge your phone. However it isn’t truly wireless because your device still needs to be placed on the charging mat. Well the good news is that the Wireless Power Consortium has recently updated the charging specification to Qi v1.2.
What’s the difference, you ask? Well the difference is that with the new Qi standard, they have made it so that the wireless power can be transmitted from up to 45mm. This is versus the 7mm found on Qi v1.1. What does this mean for the average user? Well it means that we could soon see wireless chargers being embedded into surfaces where they could not before due to the limited range.
For example we could soon start to see more tables being embedded with Qi wireless chargers, or maybe even cars, so we could just place our phones in our cars in a dedicated slot and it will begin charging. We won’t have to go fiddle around for cables or buy a specific charger just for use in the car.
The Wireless Power Consortium has also revealed that the Qi v1.2 standard will also be able to blast 2,000 watts of resonant energy through the air, thus allowing it to power kitchen appliances. The Qi v1.2 standard will also allow for a single inverter to power multiple coils which could result in cheaper multi-device chargers. No word on when we will be seeing Qi v1.2 chargers hit the street, but hopefully it will be soon.

While Windows Phone 8.1 is slowly making its way out to Windows Phone users around the world, there are a bunch of people who aren’t able to update yet. These are the users who had installed the Developer Preview of Windows Phone 8.1, and due to issues with BitLocker, the update is unable to be installed by them.
Now the good news is that Microsoft has finally addressed the problem and they are expected to be able to update to the latest version no problem starting next week. This was recently confirmed by Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore in a tweet. A user had asked Belfiore if he had to downgrade to Windows Phone 8 before he could update to Windows Phone 8.1.
This is actually a pretty common tactic used by those with the Developer Preview versions of Windows Phone 8.1, but according to Belfiore, he told the user that he did not have to. He added that starting from next week, those who are on the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview will be automatically upgraded to Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 starting next week.
So for users who have been stuck using the Developer Preview, fret not because it looks like your problems will be solved next week, so do check back with us then as we’ll let you know when the updates have begun rolling out!

It seems that BlackBerry World is currently plagued by a bunch of apps titled “App for” followed by the app’s name. As you can see in the screenshot above, there are apps like “App for Line”, “App for Shazam”, and so on. These are in fact bogus apps meant to trick users who did not know any better.
Some of them could be actual third-party apps, but for the most part we reckon they’re trying to capitalize on popular app names in order to get users to download their app instead of the official one. Well it looks like BlackBerry has had enough and have begun notifying the developers, asking them to change the name of their apps.
BlackBerry has given these developers 48 hours to rename their app or have them removed from BlackBerry World. “Please rename or remove any applications with the “App For ” naming format, where is the name of a third party brand/company/application/etc […] Failure to comply within 48 hours will result in removal of the application from BlackBerry World.” BlackBerry also expects that future updates for the app will be keeping to the naming scheme.
We suppose better and tighter regulations would have prevented such apps from invading BlackBerry World in the first place, but we guess better late than never. So, any BlackBerry users out there tricked into downloading one of these apps unknowingly?

Remember the Typo keyboard accessory for the iPhone? For those who don’t, the Typo keyboard accessory is essentially a keyboard attachment for the iPhone. It allows iPhone users to type using physical keys as opposed to an onscreen keyboard. Now the first design of the Typo resembled BlackBerry’s keyboard design.
This did not sit well with BlackBerry who filed a lawsuit, although Typo later counters it by saying they did not steal the design. That being said, we guess Typo did not need the bad PR because the company has since announced the successor to the Typo in the form of the Typo 2, and as you can see in the image above, it looks nothing like a BlackBerry keyboard anymore.
Like we said we’re not sure if Typo just didn’t want any bad press anymore or if they didn’t want to spend half their time fighting BlackBerry in court, but the new design should not confuse anyone as to its origins. That being said, Typo also added several new features to the Typo 2, such as smart typing, a backlit keyboard, a lock key, and even a battery indicator to let users know when the keyboard was running out of juice.
The Typo 2 is currently available for pre-order where it will be compatible with both the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s. It is priced at $99 and is expected to begin shipping mid-September.
