Possible Future Titanfall Modes Spotted In Recent Update

titanfall downtimeThe latest update for Respawn’s Titanfall has been released not too long ago, and if you’re already wondering what could be in store for future Titanfall updates, it seems that text and script within the current update could clue us in as to what we might be able to expect. According to a post on NeoGAF, there have been references made to Wingman Last Titan Standing, Marked for Death, Titan Tag, and Capture the Titan.

There have also been additional references made to some game modes such as Bodyguard (TITAN_ESCORT) and Big Brother. Now if you have been keeping up to date with Titanfall news, then modes such as Marked for Death is one of the modes introduced in the update and is currently in rotation, while Wingman Last Titan Standing is another mode that has been confirmed and is on the way.

This means that the remaining modes could potentially be part of a later update. Based on the brief descriptions of some of the modes, Capture the Titan is pretty much like Capture the Flag, except that you will be tasked to bring a titan back to your base. Big Brother mode has players defending the control panel and appears to be a timed event.

Of course none of these modes have been confirmed by Respawn yet so it is possible that they could simply be leftover ideas that Respawn had forgotten to take out. In any case gamers should probably enjoy the current update first and we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information regarding the next one.

DotA 2 Update Includes New Couriers And Weather Effects

dota 2 update 640x359Heads up DotA 2 players, it looks like Valve has recently pushed out an update for the game. Some of the features might be of interest to DotA 2 players, although we should note that some of these updates are only applicable to those who might have purchased Compendiums from Valve (Compendiums help to contribute to The International’s prize pool), so if you have not purchased one, some of the updates might not be available to you.

Starting with the global updates, Valve has introduced a Live Rewind feature. This allows gamers to pause replays and rewind the content to get to the parts that they want to watch again. This is pretty much the only update available to non-Compendium players, which is a bit unfortunate but we guess it’s better than nothing.

Now as for gamers who did purchase a Compendium, you guys can look forward to new couriers. At level 24, you will unlock a Row Boat version of the Squakins Style parrot courier, and at level 41, you will unlock the Sail Boat, red-feathered equivalent. There will also be Pudgling which is a mini-Pudge courier that can be upgraded to become an “extra smelly alternate style” equipped with a golden hook.

Gamers can also look forward to weather effects in the game, and can choose between Snow, Moonlight, and Rain. Last but not least, there will be 25 DotA 2 themed emoticons that gamers will be able to use in-game or in the chat room.

'Fault In Our Stars' Bench Missing From Amsterdam Street

AMSTERDAM (AP) — The city of Amsterdam isn’t quite sure whether to blame fate or human error, but a bench upon which the star-crossed teenage lovers talk and kiss in the hit film “The Fault in Our Stars” is missing.

The green bench that used to sit on the Leidsdegracht resembles hundreds of others around the city, and its absence went unnoticed for at least a month — probably because unknown persons placed a large flower pot on the spot. Suspects in the disappearance include the city itself, which may have simply taken the old bench away for repairs, as well as neighbors unhappy with extra tourist traffic, vandals or even fans wanting to own a small piece of film history.

City spokesman Edwin van der Hoek said Tuesday it will be replaced.

VAIO Inc opens up shop with three new laptops

vaio-1VAIO laptops are back, but they’re not your grandfather’s VAIO, so to speak. But even with new management, a new brand of its own, and the absence of Sony, VAIO’s new laptop models, two new VAIO Pros and a new VAIO Fit, won’t be giving you any form of culture shock, as they unabashedly look exactly like your grandfather’s VAIO. … Continue reading

VAIO Pro & Fit Laptops Surface Minus Sony Branding

vaio laptop 640x271Earlier this year, Sony announced that they would be selling off their VAIO PC business. It was sad to see the end of an era, although some interesting tidbits did surface, such as how the VAIO lineup almost ran Apple’s OS X platform. That being said, it seems that the VAIO’s new owners didn’t waste anytime launching new products as they have recently announced the VAIO Pro and the VAIO Fit.

If you’re wondering why these names sound familiar, it is because these are pretty much the same computers that Sony themselves launched last year, except that in this case, the computers do not have Sony’s branding and will only sport the VAIO branding in its place. We’re not sure why they didn’t bother with an upgrade, but we guess those who are fans of the VAIO design and hardware will probably gravitate towards these computers.

The VAIO website has also been updated in Japanese. According to the message, it basically states how the new company will be a much smaller affair than its predecessor. It is expected to be run with no more than 240 employees in tow, but other than that the new owners expect that they will be able to maintain the VAIO’s DNA. Unfortunately for now the new VAIO computers will not be sold outside of Japan, although ironically enough they will be available for purchase via Sony Japan’s website.

Yo Messaging App Makes Its Way Onto Windows Phone

yo app 640x363It was a couple of weeks ago that a certain app by the name of Yo had been making the headlines. It made the headlines again last week when it was hacked, although it issues that led to its hack have since been addressed. Now the app was previously only available on iOS and Android devices, but the good news is that Windows Phone owners can now get in on the fun.

The app is currently available for download via the Windows Phone Store for free, so if you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, you’ll want to head on over to the Windows Phone Store for the download. Now for those who are wondering what this Yo messaging app is all about, well basically it’s an app that allows you to send the word “Yo” to your friends.

Will there be photo/video functionality? Nope. Will you be able to send voice memos? No chance. All the app does is send the word “Yo”. Oddly enough it seems that the app’s bare minimum functionality has caught on and many have downloaded the app, prompting its developers to raise money for another round of funding, although we’re not sure what they plan to do with it.

Perhaps it’s a handy app when you want to see who’s available and you don’t want to make a phone call, who knows, but like we said, it’s a free download so it won’t cost you anything but time if you want to take it for a spin.
