It goes without saying that if you happen to be the developer behind a particular mobile operating system, you too, would want to have the latest version take up the biggest market share among all the devices out there. Microsoft is no different too, with their Windows Phone 8.1 mobile operating system now occupying a respectable 25% of all Windows Phone-powered devices that are in the hands of users.
Having said that, it must be noted that Windows Phone 8.1 has already been released for a while already, and it might have hit a plateau in terms of its growth. Perhaps it will still take a fair amount of time for Windows Phone 8.1’s 25% market share in the Windows Phone device market to overtake and pummel its earlier version, Windows Phone 8, into submission. In fact Windows Phone 8 still comprises of 56.5% of all devices that run on the Windows Phone platform, which makes it by far and large the clear winner – at this point in time, at least.
As a consolation, Windows Phone-powered devices are a whole lot less fragmented compared to Google’s Android. Then again, Google and Microsoft approach the situation differently, where the adoption rate by Google’s Android devices are a whole lot slower than the rest of the competition.

So, the BlackBerry Passport is getting all of the limelight this time around, but this does not mean that BlackBerry has just a single device up their sleeves. In fact, the alleged hardware specifications for the BlackBerry Porsche P’9983 has leaked out yet again, which would be a whole lot more informative than the earlier rendering leak, not to mention having it get certified already.
Word on the street has it that the BlackBerry Porsche P’9983 will arrive with a 3.1” OLED touchscreen display at a resolution count of 720 x 720 pixels. This would clearly place it in the “square” category, which would not be too different from that of the upcoming BlackBerry Passport.
Apart from that, the BlackBerry Porsche P’9983 is tipped to be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz SoC of an unknown manufacturer, accompanied by 2GB RAM, and 64GB of internal memory, an 8MP shooter at the back which will feature autofocus ability and a kind of image stabilization; a 2MP selfie shooter, with a 2,100mAh battery. As for its operating system version, we should be looking at BlackBerry OS 10.3. Any takers so far for this alleged BlackBerry? Just remember that these are all rumors at the moment until something official comes about to squash or verify it.

I am quite sure that we have all used Windows Live Messenger at some point or another in our lives, and sad to say (from Microsoft’s perspective, of course), Windows Live Messenger was not the default instant messaging tool that people used to communicate with one another, as other alternatives such as Skype, ICQ, and Yahoo Messenger, among others, were the preferred choice. Having said that, Windows Live Messenger, or MSN in short, will no longer be made available to the masses this coming October 31st – at least for folks who happen to live in mainland China..
This is an effort to encourage Windows Live Messenger users in that part of the world to actually make the jump over to Skype, which is also owned by Microsoft after the software giant purchased it for $8.5 billion a few years ago. As part of the encouragement, those who make the jump will be on the receiving end of a $2 coupon that one can use to make Skype calls.
Mainland China happened to be the exception rather than the rule when Microsoft made the decision to shut down the Windows Live Messenger in March 2013, and hence, that particular service had to be operated locally. Looks like all good things must come to an end eventually.

Moisturize me. Moisturize me you fool. This version of Cassandra is extra horrifying thanks to the use of a Furby in it’s creation.
This monstrosity is from Reddit user Curbob. I wasn’t sure that either of these things could be more evil, but combined they form a foe that would make the Doctor wet his trousers.
First he had to skin the Furby and then he had to build a PVC frame to house the Furby behind Cassandra’s skin.
After that it was just a matter of pulling the skin tight and perhaps moisturizing. It just needs lips.
