AT&T has announced that it is offering $100 bill credit to all subscribers who add a new line on AT&T Next program. This offer is extended to all existing and new subscribers of the carrier. The phone has to be purchased through AT&T’s equipment installment plan, which it calls Next, and only then do customers receive the $100 bill credit.
The AT&T Next program was announced after T-Mobile forced every carrier’s hand last year by coming out with its own equipment installment plan. Under this program customers can get new smartphones with no money down, no upgrade and activation fees as well as no annual service contract.
Customers are offered two plans with varying installment periods. AT&T Next 12 and AT&T Next 18 binds subscribers to make monthly installments for the phone they’ve purchased for 20 months and 24 months respectively.
This is a limited time offer, $100 bill credit will only be offered on the activation of a new line on Next with a new smartphone until September 30th. Subscribers have to “remain in good standing” to receive the credit within three bills. With this promotion AT&T has thrown a lifeline to those who have been waiting to add a new line or have been willing to jump from another carrier. While the $100 credit won’t offset early termination fees from the other carrier, it may help offset the additional charges like sales tax and such.

Sony is one of the manufacturers that is going to unveil a handful of new devices next week at IFA 2014 in Berlin. The company has already teased a few of the devices that its going to launch. Others have been hinted at in rumors and various reports. A render has leaked online today which shows off Sony’s new wearable devices. Previous rumors have indicated that a new smartwatch is on the cards for IFA 2014.
We have already heard several rumors about the Sony SmartWatch 3. Apparently it is Sony’s Android Wear powered smartwatch that will be unveiled at IFA 2014. Reportedly it has a 1.68-inch display with a 320×320 pixel resolution. Sony’s mobile devices boast water resistant capabilities and it is said that the Sony SmartWatch 3 does have IP58 certification.
But it looks like the SmartWatch 3 isn’t the only wearable device that Sony will be unveiled. The render also depicts a new SmartBand Talk from the company which is an addition to its Sony SmartBand lineup. It is said to have a curved e-ink display with Bluetooth connectivity.
The word “Talk” in the moniker suggests that it might have something to do with calls as well, but since its primarily a fitness tracker, its possible that the SmartBand Talk might notify users when the paired smartphone gets a call.
Nevertheless Sony is yet to confirm any of this right now but fortunately IFA 2014 isn’t far away, so we’ll know for sure in a few days.

Welcome to the first week of September, also known as crazy-insane IFA 2014 and iPhone event extravaganza. During the next 10 days we’ll see new handsets, smartwatches, and other tech paraphernalia from almost every major hardware manufacturer. So now I’m wondering, where do smartphones even go from here?
There have been many reports over the past few months that Apple is looking to enter into the mobile payments space. A report published today claims that the company has teamed up with American Express for a new iPhone payments system. Apparently American Express is the biggest of several partners that Apple will bring onboard before it launches this service. If whispers are true then this new iPhone payments service might be announced at Apple’s September 9th event.
A lot of important announcements are expected at the event. Apart from the iPhone 6, Apple may also unveil the iWatch, its much rumored wearable device. The announcement of a new payments system will only add to the hype that has already been created for this event by an endless stream of iPhone 6 related rumors and leaks.
The idea behind this service is pretty simple: let iPhone owners use their smartphones to pay at checkout counters instead of having to use a credit or debit card, or even cash for that matter. It is unclear how many retailers are currently onboard. The report doesn’t say if this service will be powered by NFC, which as per recent rumors is highly likely to debut with the iPhone 6.
The scribe’s sources also say that Apple has had discussions with many credit card networks to get them to sign up for its new service. it was reported a couple of months back that an agreement has been reached with Visa, but there has been no official confirmation of such reports.

Late last year Telltale Games confirmed that it is working on an episodic video game adaptation of Game of Thrones, a popular TV series on HBO that is adapted from the A Song of Ice and Fire books. There’s no doubting GoT’s popularity and its safe to say that many fans of the series are now looking forward to the Game of Thrones video game. Another teaser has been posted online by Telltale Games and a trailer that was previously released has been circulated once again.
A teaser was tweeted by Telltale Games which includes a quote from the fifth volume in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, titled A Dance with Dragons. ”…trackers and hunters sworn to Deepwood with clan names like Forrester and Woods, Branch and Bole.”
Those who know their GoT will recognize Deepwood Motte. Its a relatively small castle that has a limited presence in the books. Though its interesting to note that Telltale Games emphasizes on the Forrester clan.
The dynamics of the game are yet to be explained but its likely to feature lots of dialogue, action and adventure. Telltale Games aims to release the first chapter of this game by the end of 2014, so if there are no delays, the game should land before the fifth season of Game of Thrones starts.
