There are an infinite number of ways to do a marriage proposal. Regardless of what comes before, many of them climax in the big reveal of a fancy ring in a bulbous velvet box that, while traditionally classy, isn’t exactly discrete. Packaging designer Andrew Zo streamlined that somewhat clunky exterior into Clifton, a clever, leather-bound pop up the size of a credit card.
Just in time for the start of a new NFL season, ESPN has updated its SportsCenter application on iOS and Android. The main highlight here is the addition of an On-Air feature, which allows users to get access to broadcasts of live events, like games…
A Bloomberg report claims that JPMorgan Chase and “at least” four more banks in the US have been victims of a virtual attack from hackers. The data gathered from the breach could reportedly “be used to drain accounts,” according to two Bloomberg…
For mobile tech, a notification light is one of those handy reminders that something is going on that you need to check out. You don’t need to even be online, or have the app open — your phone checks up on things for you! Why should the phone have all the fun, though? With the blink(1), it doesn’t have to. The … Continue reading
This week I’m meant to publish a review of the HTC One M8 with Windows, the Microsoft-embedded version of the Android original. Once I started using it, devoid of any special or alternate treatment for hardware, it became clear to me that I’d been mistaken: it’s the hardware, not the software, that’d driven me away in the past. Imagine for … Continue reading
This afternoon Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) is not quite so awake and active as it normally would be on a Thursday. Most problems reported this morning and afternoon center on Online Gaming, while quite a few Log-In errors have also been reported. The PlayStation Store seems to be affected as well, while not as many problems with the store have … Continue reading
When you’re searching on your smartphone, one of the avenues search often doesn’t look into is apps. Not searching for apps, but in them. A new iOS app is doing just that, diving into the information we store in our apps to make sense of it all. In App gets right to the apps you might find useful when doing … Continue reading
It seems that the upcoming Nexus X device that will be manufactured by the folks over at Motorola has seen a fair amount of rumors on it circulating recently, but what about the upcoming Nexus tablet? Not too much has been revealed about it, but a CPU-Z report that has something to do with a certain Nexus 8.9 has pointed to such an Antutu benchmark leak which might just pique your interest.
In the AnTuTu leak, it points to the tablet being powered by a Tegra K1 Denver, which so happens to be a 64-bit processor that packs quite a punch. Not only that, your eyes will definitely be rocking to a 1,440 x 2,560 display resolution, which would lend additional weight to its claim of running on Android L (Android 5.0), although the name Lemon Meringue Pie remains to be seen whether it will stick or not.
In the AnTuTu benchmark leak, it also pointed out that this tablet managed a 45,923 points tally, which does not rank it too high up on the list, but it is certainly no cause to be alarmed as similar to other benchmarks in the past, Google has not yet optimized its software when it comes to benchmarks tests, which is quite unlike what other manufacturers tend to participate in. Apart from that, the alleged Nexus 9 also sported an IMEI number (International Mobile Station Equipment Identity), which is normally granted to devices that feature cellular connectivity, after taking into consideration that Google tended to roll out Wi-Fi only models first before a cellular-enabled one later. Perhaps things are changing for the better in 2014?

So, if you happen to own either a Sony PS4 or are rocking to an Xbox One from Microsoft, surely you are also itching to get in on some Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) action all this while? Well, taking into consideration that good things come to those who wait, here we are with word from the folks over at GAME that GTA 5 for the Sony PS4 and Xbox One would have a ‘provisional release date’ of November 1.
Yep, if that were to be true, then you can kiss your social life goodbye on the first weekend of November. We obtained this teaser of a release date via GAME’s Croydon store, where it touted that they had “good news for you #PS4 and #XboxOne players”.
Of course, since this is no all that official, and is just a ‘provisional release date’ so to speak, do leave some room for error by the time November rolls around. After all, November 1 happens to fall on a Saturday, which is not the usual day where folks roll out games – at least for Rockstar. Are you all stoked up to indulge in the latest version of GTA 5 on your current generation consoles? After all, it will feature improved visuals that will most probably see a spike on hardware sales for that month as well.

When the first iPhone was released, it was pretty much similar to the Ford Model T – you could only get it in one make, and one color to boot. However, the passage of time has seen Apple come up with more and more options for their iPhone range, and as of last count, the iPhone 5s would arrive in a choice of several colors, where gold proved to be the most popular among the lot for obvious reasons. Having said that, an investment note from analyst and GTAT investor Matt Margolis points to the possibility of you having a say in whether you want the upcoming 4.7” iPhone 6 to arrive in either sapphire or Gorilla Glass for its screen.
Sources that are close to Foxconn’s manufacturing operations do point in the general direction that the 4.7” Phone 6 is being assembled into a couple of models – one that will feature a sapphire cover screen version, while the other version would feature the classic standby, Gorilla Glass. Of course, one should always take in such news with a pinch of salt, since Margolis himself is heavily-invested in GTAT’s sapphire plant.
Needless to say, if this were to turn out to be true, an iPhone 6 with a sapphire display would definitely arrive with a premium over the vanilla, Gorilla Glass-infused model. Perhaps we will know for sure when September 9 arrives, yes?
