The Bleep Cable Will Charge Your Device While Backing Up Your Data

It’s always a good idea to backup your phone’s data every now and then because you never know what could happen. You could misplace it, drop it in the toilet, have it run over by a car, and etc., so always having a backup means that your data will always be up to date, or at least as close to up to date as possible.

Backing up your phone is not hard as all you’d need to do is plug it to a computer, but what if you are on holiday and you don’t have access to a computer? It would suck to lose all your holiday photos in one go, wouldn’t it? Well that’s where the bleep smart charging cable comes in. The bleed smart charging cable is your standard micro USD charging cable, except that it also comes with built-in storage that can backup your data at the same time.

It’s pretty simple – all you’d have to do is plug the bleep cable to your power outlet, plug it into your phone, and it will begin backing up your data automatically! The cable will come with 16-64GB of onboard storage so it should be enough to backup the contents of your phone, such as contact information, images, messages, and so on.

We have to admit it’s a pretty clever idea and if you’d like to learn more, you can head on over to its Indiegogo page to pledge to its funding. The project has managed to raise a little more than a fifth of its goal, so hopefully it should be able to meet its goal which ends in 58 days.

HTC Desire To Arrive On Sprint, Cricket, Boost, Virgin

htc desire 510htJust yesterday we reported that the HTC Desire 510 had been announced. The handset’s specs might not necessarily be the most impressive, nor its build quality, but it does pack Qualcomm’s 64-bit chipset which is a nice addition to an otherwise low-mid range handset. Now at that time of posting, it was suggested that the phone might only see a release in Europe and Asia.

Well the good news for those of us living stateside is that it looks like the phone will be making its way to several US carriers as well. This was confirmed in a recent tweet by HTC USA who revealed that the HTC Desire 510 will be making its way to carriers such as Sprint, Virgin Mobile, Cricket, and Boost.

For our friends and readers in Canada, HTC Canada also confirmed the handset will arrive on Fido, Telus, Rogers, Virgin Mobile, Videotron, and Sask Tel. Unfortunately HTC did not reveal how much the phone would cost upon its release, but given its specs and given that the phone seems to be headed towards prepaid carriers (for the most part), we reckon it should be relatively wallet-friendly.

No word on when the phone will be released either, but if you’re in the market for a 64-bit Qualcomm Android smartphone, then the HTC Desire 510 is definitely a handset you will want to keep an eye out for.

T-Mobile’s $819,000 Fine By The FCC Has Been Finalized

tmobile signMost of us probably take our hearing for granted. We buy new smartphones, headphones, and subscribe to music streaming services without giving it much thought, but when you are hearing impaired, suddenly you have fewer options that you would like. Now a few years ago, the FCC found that T-Mobile had “willfully and repeatedly” failed to comply with rules that required carriers offer customers a certain number of hearing aid compatible handsets.

T-Mobile had attempted to mitigate the fine that the FCC had imposed on them but it seems that they were unsuccessful. The FCC has since slapped T-Mobile with a fine of $819,000 and the carrier has 30 days to pay the fine, otherwise the case would be escalated to the Department of Justice where we reckon things might get a little more sticky.

According to the FCC’s mandate, carriers are required to have a certain number of HAC devices. The number of such devices required by Tier 1 carriers, such as T-Mobile, have changed over the years, but a minimum of 10 devices or at least 50% of a carrier’s breadth of devices should offer up the M3 acoustic coupling, or seven devices or 33% of a carrier’s portfolio has to offer a T3 inductive coupling.

In a world full of threats and rampant government monitoring, it isn’t surprising that a game called Global Thermonuclear War would raise a red flag at some point.
