iPhone 6 Release Date Is September 19th [Rumor]

iphoneair

There’s no shortage of rumors about the iPhone 6. We have seen countless leaked parts and components as well as reports about supposed announcement dates and release dates. Apple has given no confirmation as yet even though it is expected to unveil the iPhone 6 on September 9th. New reports coming out of Asia suggest that the iPhone 6 release is going to take place on September 19th, that’s when the new units will actually hit shelves.

A well known technology blog based in China, PCinLife, reported back in June that the iPhone 6 release is set in stone for September 19th. Today it reiterates the same report, claiming that the release is probably going to take place between September 16th and September 19th.

Last year Apple greatly increased the number of launch markets, which are the first ones to receive the new units. So as far as iPhone 6 release in Europe and North America is concerned, a German retailer also mentioned the September 19th day back in May. If this really is the day when iPhone 6 hits shelves, then customers can also expect it to be released on Apple’s home turf.

Apple usually announces its new iPhones a fortnight before they actually start shipping so this timeframe does make sense. But then again, only the folks at Cupertino know what’s ultimately going to happen, we can only wait and see.

PlayStation Network Will Be Down For Over 12 Hours Tomorrow

psn hacked again

Sony has announced today that it has rescheduled planned PlayStation Network maintenance to Thursday, August 28th. As a result PSN will be down for more than 12 hours between 16:00 and 05:00 BST. During this time it will not be possible to login to Account Management as well as the PlayStation Store. The PS Home will not be available as well tomorrow.

The question PlayStation owners will be asking right now is that will they be able to play games online during the time that PlayStation Network is offline. Its possible that they might be locked out for greater than what Sony estimates since the company says there might be additional downtime once the maintenance period ends for testing periods.

However there’s a silver lining here as well. Those who have successfully signed in to their account on a PlayStation 4 or within the last five days on any other PlayStation device, they should be able to stay connected and thus their online session will not be lost during the time Sony is conducting maintenance.

Previously this maintenance was scheduled for Monday however the company’s plans had to be changed because the PlayStation Network came under a DDoS attack. Fortunately it wasn’t a repeat of the horrific 2011 episode, no user data was compromised during the attack.

The Scrubba Wash Bag will let you do laundry when you are out of options

Scrubba Wash Bag

When you’re out in the wilderness, the only clothes you can wear are the ones on your back, and maybe a spare change that’s in your bag. If you’re trekking for more than a couple of days, those pieces of cloth are going to soak up your smell, and it may not be a good one. There’s not exactly a washing machine out in the middle of nowhere, but you don’t have a ton of options to really scrub your shirt and knickers clean.

If you would prefer not to start developing a crust, then maybe getting the Scrubba Wash Bag will help. This is a portable washing machine that can fit in your pocket. The idea came from washboards in ye olden times, and consists of hundreds of tiny raised spheres which are likely made of some form of silicone or plastic. The process is simple, and you don’t even have to get your hands wet along the way.

To use, fill the bag 20-40% with water, add clothes and detergent, roll down the top, clip it shut, release air out of the valve and scrub your way to clean clothes. You can decide whether you need a 30 second light wash, or 3 minutes of vigorous scrubbing, which will dislodge dirt and oils just as well as any washer. Of course, this can also be used if you’re trying to cut down on utilities or need only one or two things washed. It would cost you around $66, and would likely come in handy if you’re the adventuring type.

Want To Become A Coral Reef When You Die?

Eternal ReefsThe subject of dying is one that we normally don’t want to spend time thinking about, but if there is one thing for sure in this world it is that we are all going to die. What happens to our remains is up to us. Standard burials have been eating up the land to the point that the space could one day run out. To that end more people are now opting for cremation, but what to do with the ashes. One really awesome idea is Eternal Reefs where the ashes of the dearly departed become a part of a new ocean reef.

The City Pipes and Stairways That Get Left Behind and Lead to Nowhere

The City Pipes and Stairways That Get Left Behind and Lead to Nowhere

Cities, like living things, evolve slowly over time. Buildings and structures get added and renovated and removed, and in this process, bits and pieces that get left behind. Vestiges. Just as humans have tailbones and whales have pelvic bones, cities have doors that open into a limb-breaking drop, segments of fences that anyone can walk around, and pipes that carry nothing at all.
