QDOS’ Q-Pic Is A Tiny Bluetooth Remote Shutter For Your Phone

qdos qpic 640x462Using your phone’s front facing camera to grab a group shot can be handy, although sometimes it really does limit the kind of poses you can do, not to mention if you were hoping to fit more people into the frame or perhaps more of the background, it could be quite tricky. While there are self-timer options that can be enabled via apps, perhaps the QDOS Q-Pic could be a better solution.

So what is it, you ask? Well in case the photos above weren’t obvious, the Q-Pic is basically a remote shutter that is small enough to fit into your pocket or be worn around your neck. The device will pair with your phone via Bluetooth and simply be depressing the button of the Q-Pic, it will activate the shutter on your phone’s camera.

It is expected to play nicely with a host of iOS devices running on iOS 7 or later, or on Android devices running on Android 4.3 or later. The range is said to be around 30m so safe to say that you can get some pretty interesting shots. Alternatively you could use it to take some low-light photos at night in the event you don’t want to get any blurry images.

Priced at £19.99, the Q-Pic isn’t particularly expensive and according to QDOS, it has a battery life that works for around 40,000 clicks, so safe to say that’s a lot of photos that you can take before requiring a recharge. It is also available in a variety of bright colors so if you’d like to learn more or place your order, hit up QDOS’ website for the details.

Samsung Unveils New Stylus-Pen Combo Accessory

samsung pen stylus 640x342When it comes to buying stationery, such as pens, you probably would think of brands like Pilot, Parker, Bic, Mont Blanc, and so on, but not Samsung. Well if you were in the market for a new pen that also doubles as a stylus, then perhaps Samsung could be a brand worth taking a look at.

The South Korean tech giant has recently taken the wraps off a new accessory dubbed the EJ-PG900C Cross Ballpoint C Pen. The accessory, like we mentioned earlier, will pull double duty as both a pen and a stylus. This means that you can take it with you to class or to work, but at the same time be able to use it with your smartphone or tablet as well.

The pen is a collaborative effort with Cross, a brand that is known for their writing instruments, so hopefully some of that quality will carry over as well. One end of the accessory will act as a pen and all users will have to do is flip it around to access its capacitive stylus point.

We’re not sure if the EJ-PG900C will play nicely with devices like the Galaxy Note series that has special S Pen related features, but if you just want a regular stylus/pen, then this could be for you. It is priced at £35.00 and if you’d like to learn more, just head on over to Samsung UK’s website for the details.

Possible Sony QX1 E-Mount Camera Photos Leaked

qx1 640x320According to the rumor mill, Sony is apparently working on another lens style camera in the form of the QX30. Well it turns out that the QX30 might not be the only device in the works as Sony Alpha Rumors have recently managed to get their hands on a bunch of photos of the Sony QX1 E-mount.

Now for those who are a little confused by the image above, the QX1 is different from the QX10 or the QX100 which comes with fixed lenses. The QX1 will offer up similar features, such as pairing with smartphones or tablets via Bluetooth, but the difference here is that it will act as an E-mount.

qx1 2 640x383What this means is that if you have an E-mount lens, you should be able to attach your E-mount lens onto it, thus giving yourself more lens choices. The QX1 will sport an APS-C sensor which Sony Alpha Rumors suspects could be the same one found in the Sony A6000. It will also come with built-in flash and is expected to be priced at 300 Euro for the mount-only, or 450 Euro with a 16-50mm lens.

We expect the full and official details to be announced at IFA 2014 later this week, so if you’d like to learn more do check back with us then for the details. In the meantime what do you guys make of the QX1? Is this a slightly more attractive option compared to the QX10 or QX100?
