The Wallet Ninja is a credit card multi-tool for sticky situations

Wallet Ninja
There are days when life wants to throw us a curve ball, and it’s always something we never expect coming out of nowhere. Usually you can recover from this sort of thing relatively easily, but it will knock you off-balance. Of course, there are also days where life fancies pelting us with rocks. This is the day that everything breaks, explodes, and just plain goes wrong. Most people aren’t going to carry every tool in the garage on them, however, it would be nice if we could shrink down those tools and bring them with us.

A miniaturized version of a screwdriver won’t actually do much good if it doesn’t fit the screw, but the Wallet Ninja can take on that task, and much, much more. This looks like a credit card that is half-way to being shredded, but can take on a variety of challenges. The Wallet Ninja is capable of performing the duties of 18 different tools. It can be a philips or flathead screw driver, bottle opener, ruler, phone stand, letter opener, 6 different sized hex wrenches, a fruit peeler, box opener, eyeglasses (what?), and a can opener.

It’s made of steel that has been heat-treated four times, which means it can take a beating from multiple uses in dicey situations. When not in use, it only needs to take up the space of one card in your wallet. For the convenience of having this many tools at the ready, you’ll have to be willing to part with $15 of your hard-earned cash. Seeing that having this sort of item around can sometimes save you a lot more, it’s usually worth having something like this on hand.

ps vita slim review 1 640x481

There’s a lot of difference in the sheer power between the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita however Sony has found ways to make both consoles work with each other at some level. Soon PS Vita owners will be able to use their handheld console to view live stream of games from the PlayStation 4. This was announced by Sony at the Tokyo Game Show.

The app is called “Live from PlayStation” and will make its way over to the PlayStation Vita in a future software update. As previously mentioned, Vita owners will be able to view live streams from a PlayStation 4 on their handheld console.

Not only can streams from a local PlayStation 4 can be viewed, the Live from PlayStation app will also allow Vita owners to view gameplay streams from other PS4 consoles that are streaming gameplay. Think of it like a service that’s similar to Twitch, but is only available on the PlayStation platform.

Another announcement that Sony made regarding the PS Vita is that it will also receive the ability to customize the homescreen with software update 3.3.0. Users will be able to use different themes and characters from various games to customize the homescreen. Reports suggest that the app and this software update are destined to be rolled out this October.

Android One Smartphones Expected At September 15th Event

android one

At Google I/O earlier this year the company introduced a new program that it calls Android One. The idea here is to aid manufacturers who want to develop low cost Android smartphones based on hardware designs that Google has come up with. Ultimately the aim is to produce quality Android smartphones that are light on the pocket. The first crop of Android One smartphones may be unveiled at an event on September 15th.

Google is believed to be starting off with Android One in India. A report from the country says that Google has sent out invites for an event which is going to take place on September 15th.

The focus at the event will reportedly be on Android One smartphones developed by Micromax, Karbonn Mobile and Spice Mobile, who have already committed to Google that they will be making smartphones under this program.

It is expected that smartphones launched under the Android One program will cost less than $100. Not much is known about the specifications at this point in time, Google has said in the past that they’re likely to feature 4.5-inch displays with dual-SIM support, FM radio and microSD card support. They’re all likely to be powered by stock Android OS.

Google hasn’t said if Android One smartphones will make their way to the U.S. The aforementioned manufacturers haven’t stepped out of their home country as yet so perhaps the company might team up with other manufacturers if Android One smartphones are ever destined to come to North America.

Archos 101 Oxygen tablet offers yet another Android option

ARCHOS-101-OxygenWhen it comes to tablets, French company Archos is certainly not a newbie in this department, although one is unable to rank them in the same vein as that of South Korean conglomerate Samsung. Still, some of Archos’ tablets in the past like the Archos 70 Internet tablet has proven to be an interesting attraction, but time does fly, and here we are with the Archos 101 Oxygen tablet that will rock to the Android platform.

Archos intends to change the way one experiences an Android-powered tablet through the merging of power, features and design. The Archos 101 Oxygen tablet will run on a quad-core ARM Cortex A17 processor, where it will be accompanied by 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory. In other words, the Archos 101 Oxygen tablet packs enough processing firepower underneath the hood to be able to handle all of the normal apps and online activities, such as chatting via an IM to sending emails, updating social network statuses, and catching up on your online news, without being too bulky that you are unable to carry it in a purse.

The Archos 101 Oxygen tablet will arrive next month for $249 a pop.
