Each of These Panoramic Pictures Is Its Own Tiny Twisted Planet

There are tons of 360-degree panoramic images out there, but Russian photographer Andrew Bodov’s latest work totally twists my mind. He depicts rockets, Mars rover Curiosity, statues of science and faith all embraced into lovely micro worlds, so simple and neat they could make a sweet set of scenery for a 21st century Little Prince. Here they are for your viewing pleasure.

Super Smash Bros. 3DS Maintains Top Spot In Japan

super smash bros 3dsSuper Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 3DS is a hit game – but just how “hot” has it been since its release? Well, sales figures for Super Smash Bros. 3DS continue to fly through the roof, moving more than enough units for it to maintain its top spot in Japan for the second week running by selling 321,363 copies of the game, at least according to Media Create.

The total two week retail sales would see a grand figure of 1.27 million copies sold, and just like how a dog goes wherever the nose turns, so too, will smashing software result in a corresponding and rejuvenated hardware sales – which is why the Nintendo 3DS system sales also saw a spike, as it managed to shift a respectable 43,592 units in the same week itself.

It does look, however, that sales of the game will continue to taper off in the weeks to come, which is pretty much normal for any newly released software. One would have the ask the question though, how many of the new Nintendo 3DS units were sold because existing owners actually played so far with Super Smash Bros. 3DS, that the slide pads actually slid out of place on a permanent basis?

BlackBerry Blend Dashboard Unveiled

blackberry blend official 640x360

Over the past few months we have been hearing rumors that BlackBerry is working on a dashboard that will allow users to access their files, contacts, conversations and more stored on a BlackBerry device using a PC or a smartphone/tablet from any other manufacturer. At the release event for BlackBerry Passport today the company finally unveiled BlackBerry Blend, a new dashboard that lets users do just that.

The idea with Blend is to enable users to work seamlessly across multiple devices while not compromising on BlackBerry’s coveted security. BlackBerry Blend apps are now available for Windows, Mac and Android with the iPad app being launched in the near future. Initially the BlackBerry Passport is going to be the only device compatible with this dashboard.

Through these applications users can access their BlackBerry Passport provided that its hooked up to either a Wi-Fi network or a cellular connection. Blend can also be used if the device is hooked up to the PC via USB. They then get access to files, calendars, conversations and more stored on the device and can even use the dashboard to transfer files across devices. BlackBerry reiterates that this seamless experience is also secure.

When the device is hooked up users won’t ever miss a BBM or text messages as Blend will automatically bring over these new messages to an integrated hub that will be available across devices, even if that’s a PC or tablet, both of which BlackBerry does not make.

Its a free service and the BlackBerry Blend apps are available for free as well on Windows, Mac and Android. Blend may be opened up to other BB devices once they receive the OS 10.3 update later this year.

LG G Pro 3 Could Run On Own Processor

lg logo 001 640x480Hey, if you are going to come up with your very own smartphones, why not make sure you also participate in the various hardware manufacturing processes in order to lower the eventual cost of the handset? This seems to be the case with LG of South Korea, as there are whispers going around that LG might just roll out their very own SoC in the early part of 2015, and in all probability, release it within the future LG G Pro 3, too.

Do take what you hear with a pinch of salt, since it had to go through some sort of machine translation along the way, so the message could have gotten jumbled up in the process. Word has it that the LG-F490L ODIN processor powered handset which appeared earlier this year happened to be a mere experimental device which LG used for testing, and the first handset which will boast of an in-house LG processor will be the upcoming LG G Pro 3, which would mean the LG G Pro 2 is about to get obsolete some time early next year, if all can be believed.

Hopefully the LG G Pro 3 will be tough enough not to warp or bend when placed in a pocket, and as with any other good rumor out there, all that one needs to do is sit tight and wait.

AT&T BlackBerry Passport Release Confirmed

blackberry passport 1

Earlier today BlackBerry not only announced but also released its new flagship device called the BlackBerry Passport. It is available for purchase right away through online retailers and the company’s own website in several markets. Those living in the U.S. have the option to purchase it off contract today at full retail price. However those who would like to have it subsidized by a carrier can rest assured as well because the AT&T BlackBerry Passport release has also been confirmed.

There were rumors a few days back that perhaps T-Mobile might be the one carrying BlackBerry’s new flagship, but that felt odd given the falling out both companies had earlier this year. No official word as yet if Magenta will be offering this new device.

On the other hand BlackBerry confirmed during the event that its new flagship will be available from AT&T as well. For now the carrier has not revealed how much this device will cost on contract and when exactly it will start shipping the units. As far as BlackBerry is concerned the on-contract price should be around $249.

Those who want to pay up front can do so right now in the U.S., UK, Canada, France and Germany by dishing out $599. The company has committed to releasing the Passport in over 30 countries by the end of this year.

Diablo 3 Patch 2.1.1 Released

d3 patch 211You might still be mourning for the fact that Blizzard has decided to cancel the past 7 years’ of hard work invested into the Titan MMO, but here is some news that might just lift up your day – apparently, the gaming company has just introduced patch 2.1.1 for Diablo 3 (yes, for those who still play that regularly, this is going to be of interest to you). Basically, this patch will feature a bunch of improvements, where among them include buffing pets, not to mention changes being introduced to Adventure Mode all the while increasing the drop rate for Rift Guardians.

What makes patch 2.1.1 for Diablo 3 noteworthy would be its life and speed increase that will affect several of the pet skills for the Witch Doctor class, in addition to getting a higher chance of picking up legendary items from the merchant Kadala in Adventure Mode, at the same time making them cost more Blood Shards.

Do bear in mind that this particular patch will be made available only for the PC version, and Blizzard did mention that they have not forgotten about those who happen to be rocking to a console version of their hit game, as the same patch ought to arrive in due time. [Press Release]
