Few things in life are more satisfying than taking out pent-up aggression on a poor, helpless phone, and the Kyocera Brigadier gave me that opportunity this week. Armed with a 4.5-inch Sapphire Shield screen, the rugged Verizon-exclusive device…

By now you must have heard of the massive celebrity nude photos leak that happened over the weekend. Compromising photos of many well known celebrities were leaked online in a blatant disregard for privacy and the law. It was widely speculated initially that the leak happened due to an iCloud breach that hackers had exploited. Apple did acknowledge that it was investigating the matter. It has issued a statement just now issuing a clean chit to iCloud and Find My iPhone.
In its statement Apple says that it was “outraged” when it learned of the theft and immediately tasked engineers to find out the source of this leak. After claiming to have put in 40 hours of investigation Apple says that it has discovered this leak was caused by “a very targeted attack” on usernames, security questions and passwords.
This was also believed to be one of the possibilities when news of the leak broke over the weekend. Its a rather common practice on the internet to break into someone’s account by trying to guess credentials like passwords or security questions. Since celebrities often have a lot of stuff out in the open about their personal and professional lives, its not uncommon for hackers to try and guess their way into an account.
According to Apple all of the cases that it has investigated had not resulted from an iCloud or Find My iPhone breach. However the company does say that it will continue to work with law enforcement to find out the criminals who are involved in this.

Many of us might still be reeling from the massive Target hack that saw millions of credit and debit cards being compromised. A luxury retailer was also found to have been hit with a similar breach around the same time. It has only been a few months since the dust settled on that fiasco and it looks like another might be in the making. Home Depot has confirmed that it is looking into some “unusual activity” and is currently investigating with its banking partners and law enforcement to find out for sure.
According to Brian Krebs, a well known computer security journalist who previously worked for The Washington Post, a “massive” pair of credit and debit card batches appeared for sale online on an underground site dedicated to the sale of stolen credit card numbers. He believes that this might be a bigger breach that Target with over 40 million cards being stolen over three weeks.
Reportedly the window of this breach was between May 2014 till August 2014. Home Depot itself has not confirmed if something like this really did happen though its investigating right now. The company says that customers will be notified if ample evidence surfaces that there has been a breach.
As a preemptive measure those who have used a credit or debit card at any of Home Depot’s 2,200 stores might want to keep an eye on their card activity, while keeping their fingers crossed in the meantime.

Grand Theft Auto 5 has been around for quite some time now on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Fans of the popular Rockstar franchise have been waiting patiently for GTA 5 release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Rockstar has confirmed that the launch will definitely take place this year but up till now it has not confirmed exactly when this will happen. The GTA 5 release date for the aforementioned platforms has appeared online at a major online retailer.
The last report we had about the GTA 5 release date for PC, PS4 and Xbox One come from the people at GAME who claimed that November 1st has been pegged as the “provisional release date” for this title. There was no confirmation or denial from Rockstar.
November 14th has also been cited as a possible release day by a handful of retailers but it too has not been confirmed. The GTA 5 release date that appeared on popular online retailer Newegg points us towards November 18th. If this turns out to be true that’s when the title will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Seeing as how this release date is linked with Newegg gives us some hope that it might be true. Rockstar is still keeping mum and so far has not confirmed if November 18th really is the date when GTA 5 finally launches for these platforms. We’ll keep an eye on this and let you know when it finally breaks its silence.

When we were young, there were all sorts of toys we wanted. We just wanted them, and seldom did we actually need them in any capacity. It was always up to our parents judgement on whether or not we would get a new tiny toy based on how much it cost, and how long it would be played with. Now we’re all grown up, and we can buy whatever toys we want, and the only way we can be told “no” is if our credit card is denied.
If your idea of a toy is similar to what children would think of as a play thing rather than a car or boat, then you might like the World’s Smallest Voice Changer. Shaped like a megaphone, it has the ability to alter and somewhat amplify your mouth sounds. Simply move the button across to select the voice you want, press the button, and speak into the small end. It’s simple, it’s stupid, but it’s fun to play with.
If you think this toy is beneath you that’s fine and dandy, as there are likely just as many people who find this fun or nostalgic. To those who fit the latter description, you’ll be looking at a price of 7.95 euros for this little blue and white contraption. Other than messing with your coworkers or playing with your kids, it’s likely going to develop dust on a shelf, but it could certainly make some interesting memories.

The one thing that will weigh my bag down the most is my laptop. It is a monstrosity, but using a phone or tablet for work outside of the office just isn’t going to cut it. Opening up a laptop and setting to work anywhere is just too easy. You could make it work on your phone, but that would require opening an app, losing half of your screen to a keyboard, and you would have to use your fingers instead of a track pad or mouse, and that just doesn’t feel right.
If you like the portability of your phone, but wish you had the keyboard and mouse aspect of your laptop, then you might like having the UNITEK 3-In-1 Connector around. This is a smartphone stand that will allow you to connect three USB devices. There’s also a built-in SD card reader. The On-The-Go function will allow you to connect a flash drive, USB keyboard, or mouse to your phone.
This was meant for microUSB smartphones, but can charge your iPhone or tablet. It can act as a stand for smartphones up to 8”, and if it is not being used as a work station, this can charge three USB devices at once when plugged in. It’s plug-and-play, and supports Windows 7, 8, Vista, XP, 2000, Linux, and Mac. You will need to be near an outlet when using this $55 device. This is a great idea, but it comes with the annoyance of needing to find enough space to set everything up. You’ll have to balance out the ease of use versus the extra weight you’d have to carry with a laptop.
