Even after all these years, it seems that Marty McFly’s gadgets still inhabit the dreams of geeks, inventors, tinkerers, and visionaries, from the near-impossible time-traveling car, to the almost possible hoverboards, and now to self-tying shoe laces. Former Nike designer Tinker Hatfield, who conceived Marty’s “power laces”, predicted that this type of footwear would be possible by 2015. Given the … Continue reading
It’s not like we haven’t seen e-ink watches before, but we’ve never seen one quite like this. FES Watch uses e-paper not only for its face, but its entire strap, allowing the wearer to change its design with a simple button press. By combining…
When I tested Aether’s “Cone” music player I was intrigued, but cautious, about the idea. At $400 (plus a required Rdio subscription) it was a hard sell for many — especially with strong competition. Today, Aether shows that it’s working on making…
Today, we mostly think of the fax machine as an outdated piece of technology. While there are still some uses for it in an office-setting, technological advances are sending the fax machines to the same pasture as pagers, land-line telephones, and disposable cameras. Even if this is the last we hear of the beeps and bops that echo as an incoming fax is transmitted, the fax machine had a very long life – an amazing 171 years to be exact. Yes, the fax machine was invented in 1843, before the Model-T was even a dream, before the telephone was invented, and even before the American Civil War broke out.
Plenty of mobile device screens can easily resist minor cracks and scratches, but let’s be honest — those aren’t the biggest problems. No, the real crisis comes when you drop your phone and the display shatters into many pieces. Thankfully, Corning…
After many, many promises, HBO Go is now out for Xbox One. The app is already available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but the Xbox One launch marks the first time the premium streaming service is accessible from a next-gen console. Variety, which…
Fashion Apps You Need To Know About
Posted in: Today's ChiliWe are going to come out and say it: Fashion apps are often tedious, annoying and not all the helpful. You usually spend all your time trying to figure them out and all they ever do for you is drain your battery.
The App: Shop It To Me
How it works: In short, the apps notifies you when items from brands you like go on sale, in your size. Users fill out a profile with their clothing and shoe sizes and select brands they like (from a list of over 862) and whenever an item from a selected brand goes on sale in the right size, the piece will appear in your feed. You can also opt to get push notifications, so don’t even need to go into the app to be alerted to a good deal.
Why we love it: The app only culls in items that are on sale, so you’re never going to be paying full price. And around Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this app could become your new BFF.

If you are one of those people — and we are not here to judge — you should know that your Thanksgiving shirt says a lot more than what is printed on the shirt. It says something about you, as a person.

It’s the morning after Thanksgiving and, against all odds, you and everyone in your household is feeling hungry again. Yes, y’all could hover around the open refrigerator with forks in hand and attack, or you could whip up something really impressive and breakfast appropriate.
Go with the latter. Make a Thanksgiving-inspired breakfast and show the world what you’re made of. Think stuffing waffles, turkey and egg concoctions, pie parfaits and much, much more.
