3D Printed Urns: Rest in Print

Cremation Solutions offers personalized 3D printed urns. The idea is that a container bearing the likeness of the deceased would make it easier to guess or remember that it holds that person’s ashes. No more asking what that odd vase is for. Instead, people will ask, “What have you done?”

Seriously though, I wouldn’t mind having my ashes placed in a funny urn. At least that way I can still make people smile. Cremation Solutions’ custom urns come in two types. The first one is a bust, which comes in two sizes. Apparently, it also comes in the likeness of President Obama. The full-sized bust is 11″ tall and can hold all of an adult’s ashes, while the 6″ bust can hold only a portion of the ashes.

The second type of Cremation Solutions’ 3D printed urn is a 12″ action figure that holds only a teaspoon of the deceased’s ashes. The figures have several costumes to choose from. Clearly this will not end in a kid accidentally playing with his dead relative’s remains and being scarred for life when all is revealed (or scattered). Nope. That’s never going to happen.

If you’re ready to venture where no ash has gone before, submit a frontal photo and a profile photo of the deceased to Cremation Solutions, and they’ll turn into a personalized urn. The service will cost anywhere between $100 (USD) to $2,600 depending on the size and any added accessories. For some reason, the company refuses to make 3D printed urns for pets. It’s like it doesn’t want to make billions.

If You Can Doodle, You Can Program the Tiny Ozobot

If You Can Doodle, You Can Program the Tiny Ozobot

Science fiction has promised us robots smart enough to walk, talk, and even occasionally save the day. But in reality, dabbling in robotics still requires a great deal of engineering and programming know-how. That’s not the case with the Ozobot, though. It can’t fetch your groceries, but programming where it roams and how it behaves is as easy as doodling using colored markers.
