Jon Stewart Has A Question For Rand Paul: 'What The F**k Are You Talking About?'

Jon Stewart began “The Daily Show” on Thursday night with an apology for saying on Wednesday night’s show that no one involved in the death of Eric Garner had been indicted.

As it turns out, the person who recorded the video of Garner being choked was indicted on weapons charges.

“They got the shooter… of the video,” Stewart said. “Let that be a lesson to you kids out there. Photographing crime does not pay.”

Some quickly moved to blame Garner’s death by choking at the hands of New York City police officer Daniel Pantaleo on just about anything other than the officer’s chokehold.

Fox News host Sean Hannity argued that the chokehold wasn’t really a chokehold. Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) blamed Garner’s size and health. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) even blamed cigarette taxes.

“What the fuck are you talking about?” Stewart asked after hearing Paul’s remarks. “Well I guess now we know what it takes for a senator from Kentucky to admit cigarettes can kill.”

Ray Kaunisto, Hockey Player, Manages To Say 'Meow' 7 Times In Interview

How many times can you sneak “meow” into an otherwise normal conversation? Hockey player Ray Kaunisto of the Kalamazoo Wings managed to pull it off seven times in just under 40 seconds during a recent on-ice interview.

That’s one meow every 5.7 seconds, for those keeping score.

The “meow game” comes from the 2001 comedy “Super Troopers,” in which a cop tries to use the word 10 times during a traffic stop.

You can see that clip below. (And yes, that’s Jim Gaffigan as the driver assaulted by all the meows.)

The game also made sports news back in 2012, when Thomas DeCoud, then of the Atlanta Falcons, said meow 14 times in an interview with ESPN.

But Kaunisto’s meow moment almost didn’t happen.

I thought about doing it a little bit before and then I just figured just let it rip and see what happens,” Kaunisto told MLive.com. “I almost chickened out. I almost didn’t do it, but I kind of just went with it.”

Kaunisto’s clearly a guy who likes to have a little fun. Last year, he took part in a lip-synch duel, miming “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” by Randy Hauser. (You can check out that clip on YouTube right meow.)

“I’m always one of the guys that tries to keep things light in the locker room and in a lot of interviews with hockey players they pretty much say the same exact things over and over,” Kaunisto told MLive.com. “I kind of wanted to mix it up a little bit.”

No Evidence N.J. Gov. Chris Christie Involved In Bridge Closure Plot: Report

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey lawmakers probing politically motivated traffic jams near the George Washington Bridge last year have found no evidence that Gov. Chris Christie was involved in the scheme.

Investigators found no conclusive evidence whether Christie was aware or not of the closures last year, but they say that two former Christie aides acted with “perceived impunity” and with little regard for public safety when they ordered the lanes closed, according to a 136-page interim report by a joint legislative panel that was obtained by news organizations Thursday night. A report commissioned by Christie previously cleared him of any wrongdoing and a lawyer for the governor said in a statement Thursday that the report corroborates that investigation.

“The Committee has finally acknowledged what we reported nine months ago — namely, that there is not a shred of evidence Governor Christie knew anything about the GWB lane realignment beforehand or that any current member of his staff was involved in that decision,” Christie attorney Randy Mastro said in a statement.

The report said that several critical witnesses have not testified and that important questions remain unanswered. The report will be supplemented if more information is obtained.

The report says that former Christie aides Bridget Anne Kelly and David Wildstein acted with “perceived impunity” and that they acted with little regard for public safety. It says that the Christie administration responded “very slowly and passively” to the lane closures.

Documents released earlier this year showed that Wildstein, then an official at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and Kelly, then an aide to Christie, orchestrated the shutdown, apparently as retribution toward Fort Lee’s Democratic mayor. In one email, Kelly told Wildstein, “Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee.”

Wildstein later contended that Christie knew about the lane closures as they happened. Christie, a possible 2016 Republican presidential contender, denies that he had any role in or knowledge of a plot to shut down the lanes.

An investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office is continuing. No one has been charged.

The legislative panel is scheduled to meet on Monday to formally release the report to the public.
