Motorola Working On Nexus 6-like Droid Handset With Snapdragon 810 Chipset [Rumor]

nexus 6 review 1 640x428In terms of recently released devices, Motorola has the Nexus 6 and the Droid Turbo. Both are powerful handsets in their own right but apparently Motorola has plans to release the another handset in the near future based on the Nexus 6, except that this time round it will pack even more powerful hardware and will bear the Motorola branding.

According to the rumors, the upcoming handset is said to bear a resemblance to the Nexus 6 which in itself reminds us a bit of the Moto X (2014). However the main difference here will be what’s under the hood. If the rumors are to be believed, the upcoming handset will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.

This is an upgrade over the Snapdragon 805 found in the Nexus 6 and will also see the amount of RAM bumped to 4GB which will be able to take advantage of the Snapdragon 810’s 64-bit architecture. The rest of the phone is expected to remain somewhat similar to the Nexus 6, meaning that we can look forward to a 5.9-inch QHD display.

In any case there is no way to confirm if the rumors are true, but either way we will be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information, but in the meantime what do you guys think? Does the idea of a Snapdragon 810-powered Nexus 6-like device appeal to you?

Amazon’s CEO Reassures That There Will Be More Fire Phones Coming

firephone real glossy back 640x431

Glass back is super slippery and attracts fingerprints.

The Amazon Fire Phone was Amazon’s first attempt at an Android smartphone. Given the success of the Kindle Fire series of tablets, safe to say that many were expecting great things from Amazon, but unfortunately the phone failed to deliver. It had promising features but it just didn’t seem to take with consumers.

So does that mean that Amazon will be giving up and concentrating on tablets and e-readers instead? Well thankfully that does not appear to be the case. According to Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos, he suggested that Amazon will be continuing to churn out Fire Phones until they get it right.

This was mentioned during a Business Insider’s conference held in New York not too long ago where Bezos was quoted as saying it will take several iterations of the Fire Phone before he will be able to judge it properly. Bezos also wouldn’t refer to the phone as a failure but rather a process.

He also pointed out some of Amazon’s failures back in the day that cost the company billions. “None of those thing are fun. They also don’t matter. Companies that don’t continue to experiment, companies that don’t embrace failure, eventually get” desperate and “make a Hail Mary bet at the end of their corporate existence.” So what do you guys think? What does Amazon need to do to make future Fire Phones more attractive to customers?

Indiegogo Trials Insurance Program For Failed Crowdfunded Projects

Olive Labs insuranceCrowdfunding websites like Indiegogo and Kickstarter play home to many amazing products and ideas. Some of these ideas unfortunately don’t end up getting funded, and sometimes the ones that do end up taking way too long to ship as its creators do not have the experience to handle their supply chain properly.

That being said what happens when you’ve already pledged your money? Well the good news is that according to a report from TechCrunch, it looks like Indiegogo is piloting a new insurance program that will refund backers their money should a product fail to deliver within 3 months of its estimated delivery date.

As it stands this new pilot program is being trialed on the Olive stress management wearable device. Users will have the option of paying an additional $15 to tack on the insurance if they wish. According to an Indiegogo spokesperson, “Indiegogo regularly develops and tests new features to meet the needs of both funders and campaign owners. This pilot test is currently limited to this individual campaign.”

It is unclear if this pilot program will eventually roll out to other Indiegogo projects in the future, but what do you guys think of the idea? Would you be willing to pay a little bit extra for that peace of mind?

The Difference Between A ‘Gold' Digger And A ‘Goal' Digger (VIDEO)

Valerie says she’s proud to be a “goal” digger — not a gold digger — who has a talent for manipulating situations, which has brought her money, jewelry, trips and cars. “We’re exotic, sort of like a snake charming you,” she explains, pointing out that she never exchanges anything for sex and is happy to pay for her own basic needs. “Real, true goal diggers, we don’t really care about the trinkets. I don’t need a man, but I do need what he has to offer.”

She insists she operates differently from a gold digger, explaining to Dr. Phil in the video above: “A gold digger is a person who is only thinking about the present. She’s only concerned about getting trinkets. She doesn’t necessarily know her value. A goal digger is a person, who, we understand that we can do it by ourselves. I don’t need you, but what you do complements what I do.”

The 28-year-old sums it up: “I would describe the relationship that I have with the men in my life as one big chess match, and I will always be the one who yells, ‘Check mate.’”

But Valerie’s brother, Andre, says she preys on men with money and power, and he fears her sexy, scheming ways could get her seriously hurt.

“Do you manipulate men?” Dr. Phil asks Valerie.

“I probably manipulate situations but not the man,” she says. “I’m emotionally void. I don’t really care, because one day I’ll find a man who I actually care about, and I will do that because the feeling is mutual. Nine times out of ten, the men that I run into they don’t have good intentions, so I don’t have a problem manipulating this situation.”

On his show Wednesday, Dr. Phil shares with Valerie what he believes may be behind her behavior. Click here to see where you can watch.
