If you’ve ever dreamt of a weird feature you wanted your camera to have for a specially specific purpose, the guy to call would be Kenji, National Geographic’s very own tinkerer extraordinaire. Head over to their very own Proof blog for a peek inside his workshop.
CNN is the latest publication to publish an alarmist guide to teen sexting . It’s full of nonsensical combinations of letters that no human would ever tap into a text. But to be sure, we took some of this absurdist lingo for a spin, just to make sure it’s totally bonkers. It is.
When TGI Friday’s announced a promotion involving mistletoe-toting drones flying around inside its restaurants, the idea seemed both dumb and unoriginal . Now, that the restaurant’s gimmicky marketing campaign has shed blood in Brooklyn, it just seems dangerous. And TGI Friday’s isn’t even taking the blame!
When the New Horizons spacecraft launched, Pluto was still considered a planet. Now, eight years later, the space probe is finally nearing the end of its 2.9 billion-mile journey to Pluto—and has just roused itself from deep hibernation ahead of its arrival.
Let’s say you’re in a real hurry to mail gifts this holiday — so much so that you forgot to buy those gifts before you reached the post office. Are you stuck? Not if the UK’s Royal Mail has something to say about it. The organization is teaming with…
Coding sounds hard, but sometimes all a kid (or grownup) needs is a push in the right direction. That’s the motivation for the second annual annual Hour of Code, which runs between December 8th and 14th as part of Computer Science Education Week. The…
As we head into the new year it is only a matter of time before major OEMs unveil their latest flagship devices. Some announcements are expected at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 during the first week of January, followed by the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona where companies like Samsung and HTC are likely to make their announcements. The HTC One (M9) has already been rumored multiple times and for the first time we get to see a purported front panel for this smartphone.
Component leaks from unannounced smartphones are nothing new, it happens all the time, but since these leaks originate from unverified sources there’s always the possibility of the leak being false or fake, so do take it with a grain of salt.
According to the source that leaked this image this panel comes in at 5.2-inches, even though many previous rumors about this smartphone have claimed that it is going to have a 5.5-inch display. HTC hasn’t commented on its next flagship as yet so there’s no way of knowing for sure right now.
From the looks of it the HTC One (M9) is going to have pretty slim bezels, which I’m sure many fans of the device will appreciate. HTC is likely to hold on to the metal build for its flagship that has made it dear to the Android community.

Popular online video streaming services like Netflix, YouTube and Amazon Prime have all started to dabble into 4K streaming. Vimeo doesn’t want to be out of the fray so it has started offering 4K video to users as well, but unlike the others, it is staying away from streaming video in 4K for now. Instead Vimeo is allowing Pro subscribers to offer their movies for download in 4K, enabling users to download 4K content from the website.
Vimeo has also said that its VOD platform can be used to sell 4K content to customers, and that’s where the 4K offering ends for now. Vimeo is not going to stream content in Ultra HD on its website just yet.
One of the reasons for this decision was the fact that there aren’t many devices out there right now which can support 4K content in all its glory. Majority of the smartphones and tablets don’t have displays that can handle Ultra HD and now everyone has a 4K compatible TV or monitor with their PC.
It goes without saying that a pretty strong internet connection is required as well to be able to stream content in such high resolution, which is a problem in itself, particularly in developing countries where the internet infrastructure isn’t as strong as developed countries.
