If you’re particularly concerned about your privacy, you might want to check out KakaoTalk, a messaging app out of Korea by Daum Kakao. The app has been around for a while now, but the company has recently announced some changes that they are making to the app that will appeal to those who are particular about their privacy.
This will come in the form of end-to-end encryption that will hopefully prevent hackers or even the government from snooping or intercepting and reading your messages. The feature is currently available in the Android version with the iOS version soon to follow. For those on Android, the encrypted chat feature can be accessed via the “Secret Chat” mode.
As it stands the feature will be limited to one-on-one conversations although Daum Kakao expects to roll it out to group chats within the first three months of 2015. In addition to the encryption feature, the developers also allowed users to leave group chats without the ability to be re-added unless they want to.
In a statement released by Daum Kakao, “Secret Chat ensures heightened confidentiality of user conversations by providing end-to-end encryption, where the decryption key for chat messages is stored in the user’s device making the messages only readable by the users involved in the conversation. Since the decryption key is stored only in the device, other parties cannot access conversations through any outside point—even through servers.”
This also follows in the footsteps of WhatsApp who announced a similar feature back in November. For those interested in checking out the app or getting their hands on the update, you can do so by heading on over to the Google Play Store for the download.

Earlier last week Sony announced that they had a limited edition Sony PlayStation 4 that would celebrate its 20th anniversary. Basically the console has been given a paint job where it resembles the finish of the original PlayStation, including its controller. It’s a hark back to the good old days and we’re sure more than a few gamers were interested in getting their hands on it.
Well the bad news is that if you wanted to get one for yourself, Sony has sold out of them completely. According to the US PlayStation store, it reads, “We appreciate your interest, but we will have no more inventory. Apologies for the inconvenience.” Now we should note that this is only for the US market as we expect Sony will be making the console available in other markets as well.
However given that Sony only plans to producing 12,300 units of the 20th anniversary PlayStation 4 console, we can only assume that the console will most likely sell out very fast in international markets as well. If they aren’t bought by collectors, there is a good chance that they will be bought by resellers who are hoping to sell them for a higher price.
Don’t be surprised if you start seeing these units appear on websites like eBay or Craigslist, and also don’t be surprised if they are priced much higher than Sony’s original price for the console. In the meantime did any of our readers manage to get their hands on one of the consoles?

Compared to the Microsoft Xbox One and the Sony PlayStation 4, Nintendo’s Wii U isn’t doing quite as hot despite it being released earlier than Microsoft and Sony’s newer consoles. While Nintendo has experienced spike in sales following the release of titles such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros., those appear to be temporary, but there is a good chance that doom and gloom predictions for Nintendo could be at an end.
How is this possible? Well it seems that Nintendo’s Amiibo figurines could very well propel Nintendo back into high profits. According to an analyst report from Bloomberg, it has been estimated that Nintendo could very well pull in a whopping $1 billion in the US alone from sales of the Amiibo figurines.
According to Tomoaki Kawasaki, “Nintendo has picked up good momentum heading into the Christmas season. This time they have a hit lineup. Amiibo represents a new revenue source, and we are watching it very closely.” Kawasaki is not alone in his optimism as additional analysts have predicted Nintendo’s profits to triple to around $29 billion by the year’s end.
This is certainly a change from a year or two ago where many were predicting Nintendo’s end and lamenting how Nintendo should step out of their comfort zone and start releasing more games for the mobile market, a move which Nintendo has steadfastly refused to budge on.

One of the most potent weapons in the arsenal of any table tennis player would be that of their serve – deliver it right, and you would have more or less picked up an ace, or perhaps making it nigh impossible for your opponent to return a difficult ball. Having said that, if you happen to live alone and would like to improve on your service return, perhaps the $49.95 Automatic Serving Table Tennis Trainer might be able to help sharpen and hone your skills.
The Automatic Serving Table Tennis Trainer is akin to a tennis ball machine, although it has been reconfigured and obviously modified in order to cater to the table tennis crowd. Being capable of serving up a steady stream of balls for solo practice so that one can fine tune one’s game, it is perfect for the beginner, since the trainer will only serve balls with an easy-to-hit pace and a consistent trajectory. Not only that, it can also be placed at just about anywhere you like on a standard 9′ x 5′ table tennis top, giving an opportunity for players to develop proper forehand and backhand techniques. This trainer is capable of holding 20 regulation balls that will be served in less than a minute, although picking up the balls afterwards might cause you to sweat more than the actual service returns. Running on a quartet of AA batteries, perhaps getting rechargeable batteries might be a better idea if you are going to make use of the Automatic Serving Table Tennis Trainer in the long run.
