The printer is a standard FDM device that prints layers of plastic into a cohesive whole. The team has added a few extras including a heavy steel frame and acceptable build… Read More
Many people are convinced that wearable tech will revolutionize our relationship with technology in the coming decades. But we’ve been waiting on this revolution in some form or another for a century. Case in point: This kid who had it all figured out in 1922 when he invented a radio that fit inside his top hat.

Apple Pay, and other mobile payment services like it, all share a similar vision of the future, one where people can leave their home with nothing but a smartphone and an ID (if that !), and still buy absolutely whatever they want. That dream’s a little closer to reality now that USA Technologies brings NFC payments to some 200,000 vending machines, parking meters, and laundry equipment, some of the last bastions of cash.
Remember how the White House was in lockdown yesterday morning after a rogue DJI Phantom drone crashed into the lawn? According to The New York Times, the perpetrator was National Geospatial Intelligence Agency employee who’d been drinking and droning at a nearby apartment. Which, hey, it happens.
For a while, Opera was a power user’s web browser — what you chose when other apps just didn’t have the right mix of clever tricks and shortcuts. The company’s switch to Google-based tech dropped some of those features, however, leaving you in an un…

Apple has come under fire from critics ever since iOS 8 was released because the new software required a substantial amount of storage to be available on the device before it can be installed. Most users are running on fumes as far as free storage goes these days so one can imagine what a pain it would be to either move or delete data to make space for the update. Apple has finally released an update to fix that. iOS 8.1.3 also brings additional bug fixes and improvements and stability as well as performance.
iOS 8.1.3 also brings a fix for a bug that caused Spotlight to not display app results in search. Another issue that has been fixed with this update prevented users from entering Apple ID password for Messages and FaceTime.
New configuration options for education standardized testing have been added and an issue that prevented multitasking gestures from working on the iPad has been taken care of as well.
Clearly this update is meant to address most customer complaints that surfaced following iOS 8’s release late last year. Even in subsequent updates Apple didn’t tackle all of those pain points, particularly the one that concerns storage, iOS 8.1.3 finally puts it to rest once and for all.

Apple today released a new software update for OS X 10 Yosemite. It primarily brings bug fixes and improvements. With this software update Apple has fixed many Wi-Fi related issues that have been plaguing Yosemite users. Improvements for iCloud, VoiceOver, Bluetooth headphones and Safari are also included.
Over time many Yosemite users have complained about their Macs disconnecting automatically from Wi-Fi networks. The latest release, OS X 10.10.2, promises a fix for this issue. Those who have also complained about slow performance on Wi-Fi will also find a fix in this update.
A potential privacy concern has been addressed in this update as well. A Spotlight issue that caused remote images to be loaded in e-mail previews even when users turned off the option in the Mail app has finally been fixed.
Presumably included in OS X 10.10.2 are fixes for a Thunderbolt vulnerability and a couple of software exploits that were discovered recently. This update adds the ability to browse iCloud Drive in Time Machine and improves VoiceOver speech performance.
The Safari browser receives stability and security improvements while the latest update also improves audio and video sync with using Bluetooth headphones.
Mac users running OS X Yosemite can download OS X 10.10.2 by heading to the updates tab in the Mac App Store.

Misfit has announced some new partnerships that will allow its fitness tracking wearable devices to do much more than what they’re currently capable of. These partnerships essentially put your wrist in charge if you use a lot of connected objects. The company has partnered up with companies like Nest, August, Logitech and If This Then That (IFTTT) and as a result its Flash and Shine fitness and sleep monitors will be able to interact with apps and smart hardware.
At the International Consumer Electronics Show 2015 Misfit showed off how its wearable devices can be used to control connected objects. Misfit Bolt, a connected smart bulb, can be controlled and personalized through the Flash. This was the first demonstration of a Misfit wearable being used for control of smart home devices.
The company has detailed on its blog some of the applications that arise following its partnerships. You will be able to use the Flash to start and stop a Spotify playlist, use IFTT to connect with over 160 products and services, send a Yo, unlock August Smart Lock, know the air quality of the room with Bitfinder, and have greater control over the home ecosystem that runs on Logitech products.
Misfit is working on Nest integration as well which would combine the wearable’s sleep tracking feature and smart alarm with the Nest Thermostat to ensure that you wake you to the ideal temperature.
Starting in March the Misfit Flash will be the first wearable from this company to be able to do all of this with just a touch of a bottom.
