Dakele 3 Is An iPhone 6 Clone
Posted in: Today's ChiliAs far as iPhone clones go, the Dakele 3 is surely one of them that would go on to be an extremely memorable one – where it will run on the Android mobile operating system instead, complete with a regular microUSB port. The Dakele 3 is shameless in the manner in which it copies the general shape as well as form and size of the iPhone 6, not to mention the iconic circular physical button. Needless to say, the home button that clearly resembles that of the original lacks the built-in Touch ID fingerprint scanner, but at first glance, you might think otherwise.
Not only that, just because this is an iPhone clone does not mean it will come cheap. No sir, you will not find the Dakele 3 to be on par with those $100 clones which can be purchased off a China website, but rather, the Dakele 3 is rather “serious” in its existence, sporting a 7.25mm thin chassis that is made out of aluminum all over, complete with a titanium alloy frame, which should mean that it will not end up bent. Apart from that, it will sport a 5″ Full HD display with sapphire glass protection, run on an octa-core 64-bit MediaTek processor that has been clocked at 1.7 GHz, a Mali-T760 GPU, 3GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 13MP camera at the back, an 8MP selfie shooter, and a 2,500 mAh battery for $240 a pop.

Snapchat Discover Launched
Posted in: Today's ChiliWe recently reported that Snapchat is going to launch a new feature soon that’s going to offer more content to users. Today it made the formal announcement. Snapchat Discover has been launched today and it brings a new way to explore Stories from various editorial teams. For this purpose the company has teamed up with some of the world leaders in media to put together a storytelling format that “puts the narrative first.”
Simply put Discover is a feed of content that is refreshed daily. It includes content from the likes of CNN, ESPN, National Geographic, Yahoo News, Comedy Central, Cosmopolitan, Food Network and more.
Its also a novel way for Snapchat to monetize its service. Content offered in Discover is accompanied by brand advertisements, opening up a major source of revenue for this company, which has been working hard to make money by leveraging on its young but substantial user base.
Snapchat says that it has built Discover to “serve the art,” so each edition of its daily feed comes with full screen videos and photos, long form layouts as well as something the company calls “gorgeous advertising.”
The app updates are rolling out today so soon users around the world will be able to experience Snapchat’s latest feature.

Twitter has been accused by various parties of moving at a glacial pace when it comes to introducing groundbreaking changes and improvements to their products, and it seems that Twitter intends to prove all the naysayers wrong with the introduction of the group direct messaging capability alongside native video sharing and editing.
It is a well know omission to many a Twitter user by now that there has been no option to be able to privately message a group of users, but thanks to the latest inclusion, you can do just that – to launch a conversation with multiple followers simultaneously, without having some of those followers to follow one another in the first place. Perhaps this has something to do with the likes of Kakao, WhatsApp and Line emerging strongly in various worldwide markets.
Apart from that, Twitter users will also gain the ability to capture, share and edit videos up to 30-seconds in length as long as they make use of the camera button directly within the app, similar to what one would do in order to create and share photos. Definitely a whole lot better with five times the length of Twitter’s Vine service, don’t you think so? How do you think these changes will work in Twitter’s stead in the long run?

Routehappy, which is a product differentiation platform where air travel is concerned, has recently highlighted the increasing significance of in-flight Wi-Fi. In fact, it has been revealed that the number of in-flight Wi-Fi services made available by airlines has increased, which is a good thing for travelers, of course. The report from Routehappy is known as ‘Global State of In-Flight Wi-Fi’, where it features a comprehensive infographic on the availability, not to mention the quality of in-flight Wi-Fi – worldwide.
Routehappy has performed an analysis of flights scheduled for departure on February 5, which happens to be described as a “typical mid-week travel day.” This is what they have come up with after trying to figure out all the data collected – there is “some chance” for the passengers to enjoy in-flight Wi-Fi advantage on close to a quarter of the airline miles flown around the world.
Where domestic flights within the US is concerned, in-flight Wi-Fi availability also has “some chance” – and by that, we are looking at close to 66% of the airlines miles flown. 52 airlines worldwide have been identified by Routehappy to offer in-flight Wi-Fi availability, and Routehappy CEO Robert Albert even shared, “Wi-Fi is one of the most sought after, new amenities flyers want to access on their flights, and there has been significant investment by airlines since our last report.” Do you agree?

Its another day and there’s another Galaxy S6 rumor. There have been many particularly over the past couple of weeks as Mobile World Congress 2015 draws near and Samsung’s announcement of its upcoming flagship gets hyped up. The latest rumor suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S6 is going to have a proprietary connector on the back that will bring support for multiple back covers, these covers will add more functionality to the device.
The rumors come from an unnamed source that spoke to a Polish website and claimed that these new optional back covers for Galaxy S6 will bring advanced functionality that has previously not been present on Samsung devices.
One example provided is of a back cover that’s capable of measuring blood sugar level and then sending that information straight to the S Health app. Another cover may bring an E-Ink display which would allow users to read e-books without bleeding battery life.
There are also rumors of a cover that will allow users to connect lenses to the Galaxy S6’s camera. These are claimed to be Samsung’s own ideas and the company is said to open this up to developers so that they can try their hand at this as well.
Samsung has not yet confirmed when it plans on announcing the Galaxy S6. It is expected to unveil an Edge variant as well. Recent reports suggest the announcement may be made on March 2nd, 2015.

HIRIS Wearable Computer
Posted in: Today's ChiliNow here is an Indiegogo campaign that you might just want to check out – and who knows, support? I am referring to HIRIS, which happens to be “a wearable computer, for everyone.” The HIRIS Indiegogo campaign is currently live, and this particular wearable computer gains inspirational cues from Italy where its design is concerned, merging both style and function with ultimate flexibility in mind.
I do think that the design would need a bit more refinement before it can be properly marketed though. The HIRIS is unique and powerful enough to analyze 3D gesture movements in addition to tracking fitness and sports performance – in real time, now how about that? HIRIS is also fully customizable so that it can adapt to just about any interest thanks to a rich library of accompanying apps which can be downloaded via the HIRIS Store. Basic gestures enables one to control the likes of drones, DJ decks, presentations, animations, and games, among others.
HIRIS will arrive in two units – HIRIS Core and HIRIS Tracker, with the former functioning as a gesture-controlled hub, while the latter can be placed just about anywhere to capture movement and generate precise performance metrics. Here’s to HIRIS achieving its $80,000 goal via the Indiegogo fundraising campaign.

Last week BlackBerry formally launched the limited edition gold BlackBerry Passport. Only 50 units of this limited edition device were sold worldwide so its safe to say that they were all picked up soon after they became available for purchase. As is the case with such devices many have now turned to eBay to sell their gold BlackBerry Passports for a lot more than they originally paid for it.
The gold BlackBerry Passport is exactly the same as the normal variant of this smartphone save for the fact that it has gold trim and frets. Since its a limited edition device each unit has a number out of 50 engraved on the metal trim to confirm its exclusivity. BlackBerry sold these units for $999 a pop.
However it didn’t take long for units to appear on eBay. This was to be expected anyway. Take a look at this listing, where a selling is moving their 45/50 gold BlackBerry Passport with a starting bid of $4,000. So far no bids have been made on this device which goes to show people aren’t really willing to pay this much money.
Those who couldn’t purchase one directly from BlackBerry at the official price have plenty of opportunities to purchase this device through eBay, though they will need to pay an exorbitant amount of money just to get their hands on one.

ASUS’ ZenFone C Hits Malaysia
Posted in: Today's ChiliASUS has just introduced their latest addition to the ZenFone family, which comes in the form of the ZenFone C. This particular smartphone that hails from Taiwan has appeared over in Malaysia, where the ZenFone C is touted to replace the ZenFone 4, being an entry-level device by itself. The full hardware specifications sheet for the handset had already made its way online, not to mention a slew of photos of what the real deal looks like. At first glance, one might actually think that this is more or less identical to the ZenFone 4 where design is concerned, although underneath the hood, you ought to be able to find a fair number of updates.
For instance, the new ASUS ZenFone C will feature a larger 4.5” IPS display complete with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, in addition to a 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of internal memory. There will be a 5MP shooter located the back and a yawn-inducing VGA camera in front, although one would also be able to find a LED flash on the device as well as EIS for improved low-light performance.
Oh yeah, do expect the ASUS ZenFone C to last longer as well thanks to the larger 2,100 mAh capacity battery, and this handset will arrive in black, white and red shades from early next month onward at less than $100 after conversion.
