Everyone knows Marconi was one of the world’s most disagreeable scientists. What they don’t know is he was surrounded by people nearly as disagreeable as himself. And that a famous demonstration of his “wireless” was taken over by a magician-turned-skeptic-turned-pirate.
Although not actually worn by real-life astronauts, ‘Moon Boots‘ were still an incredibly popular fashion fad during the ’80s. And 30 years later, designers like Raf Simons are still being inspired by the complex space suits that NASA developed to allow astronauts to safely walk in the vacuum of space.
Alcatel has introduced their plans to introduce a small and wireless button which is known as the OneTouch RC20 Smart Control. This unique device happens to be a small and wireless button which you can make use of as a remote control, allowing it to be able to control a bunch of functions on a smartphone. Having arrived at the FCC earlier this week, the user manual points out that this is a Bluetooth device which you can then make use of to pick out your handset’s location, to snap photos, or to control the torch or flashlight function.
Other than that, there really isn’t that much to it to this diminutive device. It comes in a small, circular form factor, accompanied by a solitary function button and a single LED light. The moment you have installed the Smart Remote app on your handset, you can then pair it up with your handset via Bluetooth, where pressing the button so that your phone can ring or vibrate in order to help you find it if you figure that it is missing somewhere, playing hide and seek with you around the home.
Apart from that, you can also press a button on your handset in order to make the Smart Remote so that it can make a sound for you to hunt it down, should it be stuck in the most cliched place – between the couch cushions.

Vivo X5 Max L Certified In China
Posted in: Today's ChiliThere does seem as though there is a race for the slimmest smartphone in the world, where various Chinese manufacturers have already kicked off this “race”. In fact, handsets have grown so thin, touching the 4.85mm level, and it seems that the Vivo X5 Max smartphone is going to get knocked off its perch in due time. The potential “successor”? The Vivo X5 Max L, which is said to be a more affordable model of the X5 Max, although it is a wee bit thicker at 5.1mm. You will not really be able to tell the difference though at first glance, taking in to consideration how small the gap is.
The Vivo X5 Max L will run on a Mediatek processor that will chug along at a decent 1.7GHz, according to the TENAA certification – which is the equivalent of the FCC over in China. As for the rest of the hardware specifications, we are looking at a 5.5” Full HD display, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a 13MP camera at the back alongside a 5MP selfie shooter in front, letting you capture memories in higher resolution. As for the availability of the Vivo X5 Max L, you would most probably find that it will be limited to China and various countries throughout Asia. Pricing details remain unknown as at press time.

At the recently concluded CES 2015 earlier this month, we did find out that there were several new models of computers from the folks over at HP – including the new HP Stream Mini as well as the HP Pavilion Mini. The former happens to carry a starting price tag of $180 for the entry level model, while the latter, which packs better performing hardware, would have a higher entry price point of $320 a pop. Do take note that the HP website has already shown that all HP Stream Mini and HP Pavilion Mini models happen to be out of stock, which just goes to show that there is demand for both form factors.
Regardless, if you are still interested in picking up a highly affordable computer, then you can always refresh your memory on both. They will fit within the mould of a 5.7″ x 5.7″ 2.1″ chassis, tipping the scales at approximately 1.5 pounds along the way. HP did promise that both models would be out by January 14th, but it seems as though the deadline had been missed. Regardless of which particular model that you decide on, it will come with an HDMI port and DisplayPort, so that you can hook up both displays simultaneously. The Pavilion models will arrive with Windows 8.1 64-bit software in tow, whereas the HP Stream Mini will run on Windows 8.1 with Bing 64-bit.

Intel is well known for their microprocessors over the years, where they have seen off competitors in the past such as AMD, and will continue to look as though they will be the trendsetters in this industry. This is one 800lbs gorilla that will take a whole lot of shaking for it to move around for sure! Well, Intel has a NUC range of computers which are actually small desktop machines which are powered by Intel processors, and up until now, one would not have been able to find a model that has anything beefier than a Core i5 processor – not at least until now, that is.
Intel did update their NUC website not too long ago, throwing in a slew of new details about the soon-to-arrive NUC5i7RYH. This model is tipped to arrive some time in the second quarter of this year, where we are told that it will boast of a 5th-gen Intel Core i7 “Broadwell” chip.
FanlessTech claims that the chip will in all probability, be a Core i7-5557U processor with Intel Iris 6100 graphics. This would clearly place it in the category of a laptop processor as opposed to a more power-hungry desktop chip, but it does boast enough firepower underneath the hood to make this new NUC one of the most powerful ever.
