Uber drivers attempting to follow the law are getting screwed by Uber in California. A Buzzfeed investigation revealed that Uber suspended at least 12 drivers last month for properly registering their cars as commercial vehicles. To get their jobs back, Uber said the drivers had to re-register the cars as personal vehicles, which is a clear violation of DMV rules.
People are putting butter in their coffee. And hey, if you’re just craving a new flavor experience, more power to you. The problem is that Bulletproof Coffee, the company behind the trend, is claiming that drinking a mug of fatty joe every morning instead of eating breakfast is a secret shortcut to weight loss and mental superpowers, and now the butter coffee has developed a cult of highly caffeinated, shiny-lipped adherents. So now we have to talk about it.

Sony has just announced their spanking new Sony Digital TV Tuner Module, which carries the model number SMT-EW100 if you happen to keep track of such information. This particular peripheral will target mobile devices including the likes of (but not limited to) smartphones, tablets, automotive infotainment systems, navigation systems and PCs. In fact, Sony claims that it will boast of the world’s smallest size, not to mention deliver superior reception in addition to having an extremely low level of power consumption, now how about that? This would mean it is the ideal candidate when it comes to inclusion within mobile devices.
This happens to be the very first module that hails from Sony which is specialized for mobile usage, and it is capable of supporting a slew of different kinds of digital terrestrial TV broadcast systems, where among them include DVB-T and DVB-T2 for ASEAN, Middle East, Europe, Africa, DVB-T2 Lite, ISDB-T for South America and ISDB-Tmm for Japan. Sony India will be the one offering this particular tuner module, which is accompanied by the antenna, software and technical support. Oh yeah, not forgetting the tuner enabling mobile device manufacturers to be able to incorporate a DTV feature into their products in a jiffy.

It makes perfect sense for one to be patriotic, even more so when you need to support a particular industry in your country. Take Samsung of South Korea for instance – the company has experienced quite the fair amount of growth over the years, and their phones no doubt did extremely well in their home market. However, it seems that the conglomerate is starting to lose its sheen in their home market, not to mention seeing the number of sales drop worldwide, too. The most recent report by Counterpoint Research points in this particular direction, where Apple has achieved a fair increase in South Korea during October to November last year, biting into Samsung’s share.
To be more exact, Apple had achieved a new record (for them) in terms of market share – that is, 33%, and the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are definitely to be commended for helping Apple achieve that figure. This also marks the very first time that a foreign company has picked up more than 20% market share over in South Korea. Samsung still remains right at the top with 46% of the total market share, but if the existing trend continues, it does not look as though they are able to hold on to this lofty position in a matter of time.

Communication is an extremely important aspect in life – as you need to be able to get your message across, as well as understand what others are trying to tell you, through a conversation – taking into account the type of words used, the tone, not to mention accompanied by the various signals of body language. Well, being able to understand multiple languages is also a possible advantage, but when it comes to the Internet, machine translation can only bring you so far. Twitter might want to chip in and help, tweeting that their Android and iOS apps will now boast of a new feature which is known as “Tweet translation”, and Bing Translator would be the one powering it.
With Tweet translation, one will be able to read tweets that have been sent in foreign languages. This new feature can be activated in a jiffy – each time that you pick up a tweet in a foreign language, all that you need click to do is to click on the icon of the globe, and check out a translated version of the tweet right under the original message.
Of course, do not expect the translation to be 100% accurate despite the use of advanced language software, since machine translation is still far from perfect. Well, at the very least, one will still be able to get the gist of simple sentences, right?

The free market usually works this way – if there is enough demand for a particular device or item, and the supply is far from satisfactory, then expect the price to go up. Even more so if one particular item happens to be a limited edition model, or saw a limited production run, then the rarity of it would certainly fetch a higher than normal price on the market. Well, the 20th Anniversary Edition PS4 certainly did cause some ripples in the world of gaming news, through various auction bids, but here we are with a potentially record breaking auction bid for hardware in the same series – the very first 20th Anniversary Edition PS4 is now up for auction. May the highest bid win!
First of all, here is a little bit of background information. There are only 12,300 of the 20th Anniversary Edition PS4 models manufactured, and all of them are numbered. Hence, if you were to get the very first one made, it would definitely be something, as there is value in being first. Needless to say, this is the most collectable PlayStation 4 among the rest of the models out there, where it boasts of the 00001/12300 plate that I am quite sure would be able to perform the magic trick of turning the eyes of others green when they gaze upon it.
However, if you want to have a remote chance of picking it up, you would need to stay in Japan or know someone with a Japanese address. Every single yen from the total auction price will go to Save The Children Japan. At this point in time, the bid stands at more than 16.7 million yen – that is roughly $142,000 after conversion.
