Anti-Paparazzi Clothing Makes You Photo-Proof

You and I may not be superstars, but you may still be interested in Anti-Paparazzi, since it will protect your anonymity and privacy. The concept clothing line would use highly reflective thread to reflect light from cameras and obscure your features by overexposing the image.

The series currently consists of a blazer, scarf, and hooded jacket, but creator Chris Holmes may end up adding more types of clothing if there is a demand for it. Supposedly, it ruins any photo of you that people take regardless of what kind of camera they are using – assuming they use a flash. Check out the image below to see how it would transform Steven Spielberg into an otherworldly apparition.

It’s pretty cool how it makes people look like ghosts who just strolled in from heaven.

Stargate Cufflinks: Travel with the Flick of Your Wrist

Stargates can transport you from one planet to another planet on the other side of the galaxy and now it looks like this technology has finally been shrunken down to cufflink size.

These cool Stargate cufflinks are from Etsy seller CufflinksForMen and they look like they are active and ready to go. If you wear these, you will not only be the sharpest dressed in the room, but you’ll also be able to do cool tricks like transport small objects from one wrist to another.

Hey, I think I just discovered how magicians do their magic tricks, which probably means that some magician’s guild wants me dead now.

As much as I love Groot and Rocket’s two for one deal, I think Palpatine is the only one that fits seamlessly into the monk’s body. That’s creepy. Chris sells the statues on his Etsy shop. They’re available in three sizes: $8 (USD) for 2″, $18 for 4″ and $28 for 6″.

Immersis Projection Mapping System: IllumiRoom 2.0

Last year, Microsoft Research made headlines with its IllumiRoom concept, which extends video from a console or media player to the walls and objects around the TV. A company called Catopsys is working on an similar but theoretically much better version of IllumiRoom called Immersis.

immersis_projector_1zoom in

Immersis displays videos from a computer via a DVI connection. Similar to IllumiRoom, Immersis uses a projector with a proprietary 180º fisheye lens and a projection mapping algorithm to create an immersive effect. That is, it analyzes the dimensions of the projection surface or surfaces and adjusts its projection to fit the surface(s).

But while IllumiRoom requires that videos and games be made specifically for the technology, Catopsys claims that Immersis will work with practically any game that uses a real-time 3D engine. It can also display 360º videos and 360º photos that are based on Google’s Photosphere format. That being said, Catopsys will also release plugins for Unreal Engine and Unity so that developers can tailor their games to Immersis.

Another advantage of Immersis is that not only can you use it to extend video that’s being fed to a TV, monitor, etc., you can actually use Immersis as your only video output device. This makes the projection more seamless, which is great if your TV is a lot smaller than the area around it.

Pledge at least $500 (USD) on Kickstarter to get an Immersis developer kit or at least $1,100 to get the retail version as a reward.
