Qualcomm Seemingly Confirms Snapdragon 810 In HTC One M9

810-one-m9Are you excited about the upcoming HTC One M9? From what we have heard based on the rumors, the handset will be packing Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset under its hood. This is Qualcomm’s latest chipset and most powerful to date, and given that HTC One M9’s flagship status, we can only imagine that HTC will want the best hardware possible.

However given that rumors are what they are, it’s really quite hard to tell, although it seems that Qualcomm might have confirmed it in a teaser video they released. The video is basically the cycling of 3 images that shows a mysterious handset in black with the numbers “8:10”, “10:08”, and “10:09”.

The first set of numbers is most probably in reference to the Snapdragon 810 chipset. The following numbers are the numbers that HTC typically displays on their smartphones in promotional materials, and the jump to “10:09” is most likely a nod to HTC’s decision to name the handset the HTC One M9.

This is, of course, conjecture at this point but we reckon the logic is pretty sound. In any case HTC will be making it all official on the 1st of March which is this Sunday, so if you’d like to see what HTC has in store for us, remember to check back with us then for all the official details.

Trio Of HTC One M9 Promotional Videos Leaked Online

Earlier today you might have gotten a good glimpse at the upcoming HTC One M9 through some leaked promotional videos, but in case that was not enough, a trio of new videos has surfaced which allegedly shows the HTC One M9 in promotional videos which we reckon would most likely be used by HTC to promote the handset.

Based on the quality and style that the video was shot, we can only assume that these are the actual promotional videos that were leaked online and ahead of HTC’s announcement. The leak is courtesy of @upleaks whose had a pretty decent track record when it comes to such leaks. Oddly enough @upleaks’ Twitter account has since been deleted/deactivated and we’re not sure why.

The videos are pretty straightforward as they pretty much take you through some of the features of the upcoming handset. The phone in the videos certainly looks like the phone we have been seeing in leaks so presumably they are one and the same. However previously there was a report by Evan Blass that suggested that the leaked images were fakes and that they were plants by HTC to throw us off until the actual reveal.

It is possible that given how close we are to the actual announcement that these might be the real thing, but on the off-chance that they are not, we guess you should probably take it with a grain of salt for now.

Samsung Norway Posts New All-Glass Galaxy S6 “Rumor”

s6_teaserIf there is one phone that we’re really excited about, it would be the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 which is expected to be unveiled at MWC 2015 on the 1st of March this coming Sunday. So far we have heard all sorts of rumors of the handset’s design, with one of the rumors suggesting that we could look forward to a phone made with glass and metal.

Of course it remains to be seen if the actual handset will indeed be made with those materials, but could Samsung Norway have teased that possibility? The company’s Norway arm has been busy releasing teasers in the form of “rumors” of the handset’s upcoming features. One of those “rumors” alluded to a larger display and now the latest one is talking about an all-glass handset.

Of course we doubt that the Galaxy S6 will be made entirely out of glass, but at the same time it is possible that the rumors of it having a glass front/back might not be entirely out of the question, but we will have to wait until the 1st of March before all is revealed. It is also possible that Samsung Norway is trying to throw us off with such incredulous claims, so hopefully the actual device will live up to the hype.

However carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint have been posting teaser images of the upcoming flagship from Samsung which seems to confirm at least one of the rumors, a curved display, but whether or not it will feature front-facing stereo speakers, a metal/glass body, and a larger display still remains to be seen.

Director Billy Wilder: Don't Worry About Those Nerds In Silicon Valley

Billy Wilder directed some of the greatest films of midcentury, including Double Indemnity, Some Like it Hot, and my personal favorite Wilder film, The Apartment. But Wilder was pretty skeptical of emerging tech, as we can see from this 1986 acceptance speech at the American Film Institute.
