Street Fighter 5 Online Beta To Make Way To The PC And PS4

sf5-betaIt looks like the buzz surrounding Street Fighter 5 is about to increase all the more, as Capcom intends to run an online beta for Street Fighter 5 – and this is set to happen on both the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC platforms. Touted to be “the largest and most ambitious online beta program in franchise history,” this unique effort would enable the developers to start looking into feedback received from fans on character balance as well as various elements of the upcoming game before turning it gold.

Pre-order customers who reside in North America need not lift a finger at all, since they will automatically be on the receiving end of beta access, now how about that? Capcom has remained mum on any release window for the beta, and neither have they shared on plans for entry into the beta for folks who did not place a pre-order for Street Fighter 5, although it would be prudent to remain tuned in for any upcoming updates.

Charlie Nash is also the latest character that will make his way to the Street Fighter 5 roster, where he is generally referred to as Nash in Japan, and Charlie in the West, having first made his debut in Street Fighter Alpha a couple of decades ago – boy, how fast has time flown! [Press Release]

5th Grader’s Destiny Characters Deleted By A Heartless Person

destiny-16m“As easy as taking candy from a baby” might be a saying used to described the apparent ease of a particular task, but it sure does not reflect how cruel that can be in reality, although one must admit that babies should not be eating candy in the first place. Well, we have received word about how someone who is definitely on Santa’s naughty list this year actually deleted a 5th grader’s Destiny characters.

In a video posted on YouTube that hails by the very young Destiny player’s mother, she did mention, “As Henry’s parents, we are constantly reminding him to be careful, to never share your personal information, to always be on the lookout. But the truth is, no matter how many times a parent says this to a kid, when you’re in the actual situation, it’s easier to trust people you think are your friends because someone you actually know in real life vouches for them.”

Not only that, she also went the extra mile to contact bungie, the developer of Destiny to see if they could help, but Bungie did not want to break their policy as technically speaking, the 5th grader did hand over control of his PS4 in the first place.

Bungie has issued a cautious note on one of their weekly updates, touting, “Please be careful out there, kids. Bungie has some ideas for how we can make regrettable deletions like these less permanent. While we plan the right course of action (and build out new game features), protect your Guardians from sleazy online jerks — or dogs that step on your controller.”

Reddit Lays The Smack Down Against Posting Of Sexually Explicit Images

redditEarlier this morning, we did bring you word that Google no longer allows the posting of sexually explicit content on Blogger, and this time around, we also have something which is somewhat similar to report on – that Reddit themselves have mentioned that they will no longer allow the hosting of photos, videos as well as links that contain explicit content should the person in the image fail to provide the relevant permission for it to be posted. This can be a rather tricky affair, but then again, at least it does help minimize the heartaches associated with revenge porn and the ilk.

This particular move would be a paradigm shift for the online venue, which so far in the past did come with a hands-off approach where privacy is concerned, as Reddit users – numbering in the region of 160 million users whereabouts, are able to police their very own forums within select guidelines, including strong stands against spam and child pornography. This particular change would arrive approximately half a dozen months after hackers picked up nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence and other celebrities, prior to posting them on social media sites such as Twitter and Reddit.

It is hoped that this shift in policy would help Reddit continue to grow in the right direction down the road.

Kazam Set To Light Up MWC 2015 With New Phones

kazamIt looks as though the Windows Phone camp will be a rather varied one later this year, and as the Mobile World Congress 2015 date starts to draw closer, we are pleased to bring you word that Kazam has a couple of spanking new handsets to introduce to the masses early next month. Being part of the Thunder range, these two handsets to seem to carry a model number that would resemble more of a power supply unit than anything else – the 450W and 450WL.

Both of them will be powered by the latest version of Windows Phone 8.1, and while this is not the very first time that Kazam has dived into the world of Windows Phone handsets, it so happens to be a show of commitment to the platform.

The Thunder 450W will be powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz MSM8212 processor, sport 1GB RAM, have a microSD memory card slot with 8GB of internal memory, an 8MP shooter at the back, and a 2MP shooter in front for selfie lovers. Apart from that, the screen itself will measure 5″ in size, with a resolution count of 1,280 x 720 pixels, and dual SIM capability. The Thunder 450WL will share all of that, with the only changes being a quad-core 1.2GHz MSM8916 processor, and being a single SIM handset with LTE support.
