Why Is the Paper Clip Shaped Like It Is?

When you think of paper clips, you immediately think of a specific form—the familiar round-ended, double-loop design. The wire trombone shape. But that’s only one variety of clip; the “Gem,” which gets its name from a British company called Gem Manufacturing Limited, which, even if it wasn’t directly involved with the development of the clip, was clearly able to market it well enough that the name stuck. There are many different (and some might say better) types of paper clip.

Cuff Blood Pressure Monitor delivers the necessary details

cuff-blood-pressure-monitorIf you would like to take things into your own hands in terms of your health, then you not be able to go wrong with the basics such as monitoring your blood monitor results. This time around, the $79.95 Cuff Blood Pressure Monitor will be able to get the job done, and it has also received the “The Best” certification from the Hammacher Schlemmer Institute for obvious reasons.

Whenever each monitor’s systolic and diastolic measurements were compared to readings taken by a cardiology nurse, this particular model’s results did not deviate too far off from the beaten path, which would be the nurse’s reading of just 5 mmHg, which makes it close to 90% more accurate compared to other blood pressure monitor models that are out there in the market. Apart from that, results are shown in plain English, with the addition of a comfortable cuff that does not come with a vise-like pain that other models normally produce when inflated. Not only that, The Best Cuff Blood Pressure Monitor will also be able to record the date and time, as well as it points out just when one has high blood pressure or an irregular heartbeat, being able to stash up to 120 readings for two people. Expect the Cuff Blood Pressure Monitor to be powered by a quartet of AAA batteries.

Latest Batman Arkham Knight Trailer Reveals ‘Dual Play’ Feature

A new trailer has been released today for Rocksteady’s upcoming title Batman Arkham Knight, and it makes an interesting revelation. The game has a “dual play” feature which will allow gamers to seamlessly switch between multiple characters in the title as they engage in free-flow combat. The trailer also introduces Batman’s allies which include Robin, Catwoman and Nightwing.

The latest trailer shows Batman taking down some bad guys as he’s helped by Catwoman, Nightwing and Robin. The dual play feature will let gamers switch back and forth between these characters during combat.

It will certainly add a whole new dimension to this title and as the trailer makes it clear, Mr. Wayne is going to need all the help he can get as he’s taking down bad guys in Gotham.

It would only be fitting that the help come from prominent members of the Batman Family, characters that fans are all too familiar with and will certainly enjoy playing with in this title.

This new title revolves around the Arkham Knight who poses a major threat to Gotham and its residents. Obviously it falls on Batman’s shoulders to rid Gotham of this menace and restore peace to his city.

Batman Arkham Knight is destined for release on June 23rd, 2015.

Wimbledon Bans Selfie Sticks

wimbledon-selfie-sticks

Some people love selfie sticks because they let them take wide-angle photos with their smartphone, allowing to fit all of their friends in the frame or even get a sweeping shot of whatever’s going on in the background. While there are others who absolutely loathe selfie sticks and believe that they shouldn’t be deemed socially acceptable. Regardless of what side you’re on, if you’re heading to watch world class tennis players at Wimbledon remember to not pack your selfie stick.

The biggest tennis players from all across the world will gather at the All England Lawn Tennis Club to take part in this prestigious event in June. Obviously Wimbledon pulls in a big crowd which includes but isn’t limited to celebrities, politicians and members of England’s royal family.

The law has been clearly laid down in the official Wimbledon ticketholders’ guide, selfie sticks will not be allowed into the grounds, so don’t even think about taking one.

Now this isn’t the first time that selfie sticks have been banned from a popular event. Here in the United States some of the hottest music festivals of the year have also told attendees that selfie sticks are banned so they shouldn’t bring one.

The Sunday Times received word from a spokesperson that Wimbledon decided to take this step due to selfie sticks’ “nuisance value,” and the fact that they can potentially “interfere with spectators’ enjoyment.”

Galaxy S6 Edge Tops DxOMark’s Industry Standard Camera Tests

samsung-galaxy-s6-edge_006

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have already received much praise for their design and build quality, aside from the fact that these handsets have top-notch innards that can rival the best of flagship smartphones. Cameras are often a major concern for potential customers and those who are still on the fence about picking up Samsung’s latest flagship will be pleased to know that it has topped DxOMark’s industry standard tests for camera sensors.

In fact the first two places on DxOMark’s list are now taken up by Samsung devices, the Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy Note 4 respectively. iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 6 come in third and fourth.

DxOMark’s tests reveal that the Galaxy S6 Edge’s camera is capable of capturing photos with low noise levels and very fine detail. Exposure is good, autofocus is fast and a good level of detail is preserved in low-light shots.

The sensor also provides nice white balance and color in all outdoor conditions. It also praises flash-only results which show good detail with minimal noise, good color and accurate white balance.

DxOMark also points out some cons which include slight color fringing, noticeable noise in low-light shots and slightly yellow/green white balance when flash and tungsten lights are mixed.

The Galaxy S6 Edge is awarded an outstanding score of 86 by DxOMark Mobile, the highest of any mobile device currently available in the market.
