While Fujilm announced a shrunk-down version of its top-end mirrorless camera today, Panasonic is doing the exact same thing. The G7 has many of the features that enthusiasts love about last year’s GH4 , including the power of 4K video recording.

Last year Adafruit showed us how to make the PiGRRL, a Game Boy-inspired handheld NES and MAME emulator. Now the electronics shop presents the Pocket PiGRRL, a multi-console emulator with a case that’s inspired by the Game Boy Pocket.
Measuring about 5″ tall and 3″ wide, the Pocket PiGRRL is about half the size of the PiGRRL and is actually a bit smaller than the Game Boy Pocket. It has a 2.4″ 320×240 screen, a 2000mAh battery and is powered by the Raspberry Pi A+. Adafruit loaded the Pocket PiGRRL with RetroPie, allowing it to emulate a wide range of gaming systems, including of course the Game Boy.
Head to Adafruit for the full guide and links to the materials and 3D files so you can build your own Pocket PiGRRL.

Doom fans have something to look forward to this E3 2015. It has been confirmed today that at the gaming convention next month developer id Software is finally going to show off the gameplay of the new Doom game, which has been a long time coming. Today id Software and Bethesda released a short teaser trailer of the new title which features two short vignettes that confirm that the new title has everything that it needs to be considered a proper Doom game.
We get to see a demon and a gun, the two quintessential parts of a Doom game. The demon in question is Revenant which first appeared in 1994’s Doom 2 and was later brought back in Doom 3.
We also get to see what might be the super shotgun, a weapon that was first introduced with Doom 2, so fans of the series will certainly feel nostalgic when they play the new Doom game.
It has been a very long time since the new Doom game has been in the pipeline. Last year attendees at QuakeCon did get to see in game footage but that wasn’t shared with anybody else so people who were not there are still in the dark.
Nevertheless the wait will finally end at E3 2015 next month when id Software finally unveils the new Doom game. It may also reveal when this title will arrive, presumably the new Doom game will be released for PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year.

There is no doubt in the fact that Xiaomi is very keen on expanding its business to markets outside of Asia, particularly to Europe and the United States. The company is taking baby steps in that direction. A few months ago it was confirmed that Xiaomi will launch an online store for these markets through which it will only be selling accessories. That online store is now live for customers in Europe and the U.S. who want to purchase accessories like headphones, power banks and even a fitness tracker from the Chinese manufacturer.
The Xiaomi Mi Store will go online for customers in the U.S. and Europe today at 10pm ET and 1pm CET in France, Germany and the UK. Initially it will only sell four products during the “beta test sale.”
Customers can purchase a fitness tracker which costs just $14.99, a pair of headphones worth $79.99 and two usb power banks which include 5,000mAh and 10,400mAh models for $9.99 and $13.99 respectively.
Xiaomi recommends that interested customers don’t waste any time in creating accounts for its online store if they want to purchase these products because they’re available in very limited quantity.
If Xiaomi is encouraged by the response that it gets for its accessories, perhaps the company might be convinced to bring its very competitively priced Android smartphones to the West.
