“Get a rope & hang yourself.” The tweets are wildly, flagrantly hateful. The kind of offensive language, in fact, that Twitter just developed an algorithm to detect. Yet Twitter is getting paid to publish them, pushing abusive speech to a wide audience.
Blizzard’s anticipated Heroes of the Storm game has arrived, at least in its open beta iteration. Back in early April 2014 the Alpha invites were going out, and since this past January the game has been in a closed beta. Right on time, that closed beta has flipped the sign over to “open”, and it comes only a short while … Continue reading
Speaking in an interview this week on Mad Max: Fury Road, director George Miller revealed some interesting bits about the now 4-movie long series. Hitting theaters just days ago, the fourth film in the series has received rave reviews – rare for a sequel, and even rarer for a film that’s 30 years its predecessor’s senior. Miller suggested this week … Continue reading
It’s always important to backup the seemingly obvious with an actual study, and such is what the London School of Economics did. The school conducted a study that looked at the test scores of students and the effect smartphones have on them. As it turns out (and no one is surprised), banning the smartphones caused the test scores to improve, … Continue reading

Do you need a table, but all you have is a piece of wood and no legs? Well, SNAP by Be-elastic is the solution. It’s an assembly system that can turn any surface or board into a piece of furniture without using tools or damaging the original structure. Pretty cool.
You might say it’s a SNAP. You just connect epoxy-coated steel leg to an old wooden door, a board, whatever, and you can create a table or a bench. SNAP comes in a bunch of colors and can be pre-ordered via their Kickstarter campaign. Prices start at $100 for a set of four legs. They are selling sets of two and three for less, though you’ll be much more limited in terms of what you can build.
They seem like a pretty handy thing to have in a garage or work area, where you may need an instant table.
