Reddit’s anti-harassment policies protect users, ideas still fair game

politifact-photos-reddit-600x445-600x445Reddit, the so-called ‘front page of the Internet’, has a bit of a bad rap. Most of that reputation is earned; trolls would take to Reddit to harass or belittle others, and it became a dumping ground for all kinds of unsavory content. Largely unregulated since inception, Reddit has announced some anti-harassment policies — their first official stance on behavior … Continue reading

Family Gets Double Decker Couch from The LEGO Movie

I watched The LEGO Movie at home with my kids because I thought it sounded too weird to spend the money to see in the theater. After watching it, I think I was right. It was a weird movie and I didn’t care much for the way it was filmed.

Regardless, a lot of people loved the flick and one super fan won one of the most memorable props from the film for his family’s living room. That item is Emmet’s goofy double-decker couch. It looks like something very dangerous to use to me. I’d totally sit on the top deck though.

The couch even has a compartment under the bottom couch that lets you store stuff like blankets (or more LEGO.) Check out the video to see more about the double-decker couch build from Super-Fan Builds.

Verizon Launches Lancet, LG’s New Windows Phone Handset

lg-lancet-verizon

We have been hearing for a few weeks now that LG is building a new Windows Phone handset that will be exclusively offered by Verizon. There were quite a few leaks as well and renders of the device appeared online recently, it was reported that the device might be launched later this month, but Verizon has gone ahead with the announcement today. The LG Lancet Windows Phone device has been formally launched by Big Red.

By no means is it a high-end flagship handset even if that’s something that many Windows Phone fans have been craving for. LG’s new Windows Phone device is just a low-end smartphone.

It has a 4.5 inch FWVGA 854×480 pixel resolution display, a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 8GB onboard storage, microSD support, VGA front and 8 megapixel rear camera, 2,100mAh battery and 4G LTE support.

It comes with Windows Phone 8.1 installed right out of the box but the handset will receive an update to Windows 10 Mobile when the new software arrives later this year.

Verizon is running a promotion at launch which brings down the Lancet’s price to just $19.99 with a new two year contract on the carrier. Those who prefer to buy the device outright will have to pay $120, which isn’t that much to ask for a smartphone with these specifications.
