These guys are master weapon forgers, and they don’t disappoint here. They better not, because when you’re working for a Predator, you don’t live long if you disappoint. The team does a great job recreating the weapon, and the finished product looks pretty awesome and deadly.

You can see them test it out at the end of the video on watermelons and soda bottles and stuff. Pretty badass.

Huawei To Explore Internet of Things Market With LiteOS

huawei-spy

Huawei is working on an Operating System for the Internet of Things (IoT) and as revealed by the company, it will just be of 10 Kilobytes in size.

The telecom giant claims it to be one of a kind, lightest software in the segment and that is why the company is calling it “LiteOS”. It can be integrated in any smart device (smartwatch, washing machine, cars etc), basically making your everyday life simpler and smarter. The OS will be available to all the developers in order to help them in the creation of smart products, however, there is no confirmation whether it will be completely open-source or not.

The company also revealed that the “LiteOS” will also support “zero configuration, auto-discovery, and auto-networking.” Huawei’s idea is to bring together all the devices that we use through a common ecosystem, which will enable them to connect with each other and hence touch our lives in a smarter way. Instead of diverging into the production of appliances, Huawei has come up with this breakthrough idea to bridge the communication gap between the systems.

In accordance with a report published by The Financial Times, William Xu, Huawei’s head of strategy and marketing, also cleared that the company is no way in the race to compete with Operating Systems like Android or iOS, instead it is simply focusing on powering a range of gadgets.

A rather smart move by the company to make its presence in the arena of “Internet of Things,” as this concept is steadily building its way towards the future. There are no confirmations yet reading the launch of the OS, but we are going to hear a lot about it in the coming days.

USB ChargeDoubler Claims To Double Your Charging Speed

Usually plugging your phone’s charger into a wall socket is more or less a guarantee that it will charge faster than if you were to plug it into your computer’s USB port. However sometimes plugging it into your computer’s USB is more convenient, and the good news is that if you’ve always wanted faster charging, then the USB ChargeDoubler might be the device for you.

As the name implies, the ChargeDoubler claims to be able to double the charging speed of regular USB cables. According to its creators, “As soon as the USB ChargeDoubler cable is connected to your device and the charging source, both communicate via the cable´s internal circuit board and supply the maximum charging current.”

It will also attempt to block data from being transferred. “In contrast to standard usb cables, the USB ChargeDoubler cable demands full (and also compatible) charging current of about 1.000 mA (1 A) from your PC while denying to establish a data connection.” What this means is that this is a cable that will speed up your charging, while at the same time preventing malware from installing itself on your phone through the USB.

This also means that if you wanted a USB cable to transfer data to and from your device, you’ll need to use your standard USB cable, but if you just wanted to double the charging speed, then this might be it. The USB ChargeDoubler is currently on Indiegogo trying to raise funds to make it a reality. If you’d like to learn more or pledge your support, hit up its Indiegogo page for the details.

Additional Samsung Galaxy A8 Details Surface [Rumor]

galaxy-a5-selfieIt was last year that Samsung launched their Galaxy A-series of Android smartphones, and given that they appear to be fairly well-received, it does not come as a surprise that Samsung would want to follow up with newer models this year. The company had trademarked several names like the Galaxy A6, A8, and A9 and now thanks to the folks at SamMobile, additional details about the Galaxy A8 have surfaced.

According to their sources, they claim that the Galaxy A8 will feature a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. It will follow the same design as its predecessors and will sport a 5.9mm thin metallic frame. It will be powered by an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor which is an interesting choice as we expected Samsung would want to go with Exynos. It is also expected to be accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.

The camera on the phone is said to be of the 16MP variety and will also feature a 5MP front-facing camera. It will pack a 3,050mAh battery, run Android 5.0 Lollipop, and interestingly enough will also come with a fingerprint sensor similar to that of the Galaxy S6. Given that its specs don’t appear to be too high-end, adding a fingerprint sensor would most likely give the phone a competitive edge over its mid-range rivals.

These specs seem to be in line with our earlier report but unfortunately there’s still no telling when the phone will be launched, so take it with a grain of salt for now but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for the details.

The Road To LGBT Equality Won't End At The Supreme Court

If the Supreme Court rules in favor of marriage equality this summer, is there a concern in the LGBT activist community that suddenly, the momentum for full equality might flag? That is just one topic that the most recent “Drinking & Talking” panel took up in earnest.

The Huffington Post’s own Jen Bendery joined three members of the gay community — former Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), Victory Fund CEO Aisha Moodie-Mills, and Robert Traynham, a former press secretary for likely GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum — for a wide-ranging discussion on how far the LGBT community has come over the years, hosted by HuffPost’s Sam Stein.

As Moodie-Mills noted, it is a grave concern: “We can go and all get married — and that’s all great and fine — and go to work the next day, put a picture of our spouse on our desk, and be fired, just because we’re gay.”

Here's What Dick Cheney And Julian Bond Have In Common

Former Vice President Dick Cheney and former NAACP Chairman Julian Bond don’t end up in the same category of leaders every day, but according to the most recent panel for “Drinking & Talking,” one thing the two man have in common is that they’re both under-appreciated advocates of LGBT rights.

How LGBT Activists Won The PR Game: Cash, Culture And Community

What’s the secret of the LGBT community’s success, as they’ve moved toward societal equality? According to our most recent “Drinking & Talking” panel, part of it was simply smart activism. But the money didn’t hurt.

As Moodie-Mills noted, “The [activists] took this to the streets and made it about people, not policy.” Activism took many forms, but the most notable success the gay community had was just earning a mainstream presence in our popular entertainment. As Bendery pointed out, though, money still mattered, “I’ve always pictured it as a lot of gay men with money” — and it was hard currency that made the difference in political fights like New York State’s gay marriage ballot initiative.

“It’s nice to have morality on your side,” said Frank, but it doesn’t hurt if when the “profit motive joins in, you’re in good shape.”
