Britney Spears Brings Her Biggest Hits To The 2016 Billboard Music Awards

Nobody knows how to make an entrance quite like Britney Spears.

The pop icon took the stage in a shimmering red bodysuit at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards to perform a medley of some of her biggest hits.

Spears and her dance squad rocked out to “Work Bitch” and “Womanizer” before she took it back to her “Crossroads” era, straddling a guitar while singing along to “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

The 34-year-old then transitioned into “Breathe on Me,” “I’m A Slave 4 U” and “Touch Of My Hand” before finishing out the energetic set with perhaps her heaviest hitter, “Toxic.”

Spears was also honored with the Millennium Award, joining Beyoncé and Whitney Houston as the only three recipients to date.

Earlier, the mother of two hit the red carpet in a teeny sheer black ensemble.

Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton Take Their Love To The Billboard Music Awards

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton took their romance to yet another stage, singing their new duet “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

Shelton opened playing the guitar, wearing a sharp black blazer and shirt with jeans. Stefani, of course, brought the sparkle and bling in a gorgeous, sheer gown.

The two locked eyes throughout the entire performance, essentially forgetting the rest of the audience was there.

The pop singer and country crooner first premiered their song on “The Voice.” With lyrics like, “Why don’t you go ahead and break my heart? / Why are you waiting, is it way too hard? / If moving on is what you want to do / Why don’t you do it?” the song offers a very personal look at the pair’s relationship.

Stefani and Shelton began dating in 2015 after separately going through divorces. The two went public with their relationship when both coaching on “The Voice,” and have since written songs about each other.

“If you have followed my career even a little bit in my life, you know what has happened with me in the last, gosh, eight or nine months,” Shelton told Entertainment Tonight in March. “I can put my life experience, whether it’s a divorce or my new girlfriend, whatever those experiences are, whatever things that are happening in my life, I have an outlet for them.”

Angry Birds Movie Just Dethrone Captain America Over The Weekend

angry_birds_movieWith all the hype and success that Marvel has had with their Iron Man, Captain America, and Avengers franchises, many had expected Captain America: Civil War to be a hit movie, and sure enough it was, but unfortunately over in the US, the movie only managed to hold onto its crown for two weeks.

It looks like we have a new king in town and that movie is none other than the Angry Birds movie, a movie inspired by Rovio’s series of Angry Birds video games. According to reports, Captain America: Civil War managed to generate $33.1 million in its third week in theaters, which is a lot of money, but Angry Birds managed to pull quite a bit ahead at $39 million.

If you are surprised, don’t be because just last week, we reported that the movie had already been breaking records around the world, and this was before the movie had even opened up in larger markets like the US and South Korea. We guess to a certain extent no one really expected much from it.

After all it did seem like a rather obvious cash-grab for a franchise that has been around for a very long time (7 years since its first release in 2009, for those wondering). In any case for those who are wondering what the fuss is all about, the movie is still playing in cinemas so do check it out if you are curious.

Gamer Manages To Get Steam Up And Running On A PS4

While there are some who argue that PC gaming is superior to console gaming, it’s hard to deny the fun you get from playing in your living room, especially if you have friends over and you’re duking it out with each other on games like Super Smash Bros. and Rocket League, but what about having the best of both worlds?

Turns out that one YouTuber by the name of OsirisX managed to do that by getting Steam to run on his PS4. This allowed him to play games and draw from his library of Steam titles on the PS4 itself. As you can see in the demo video above, he manages to get the action-RPG title Bastion to run on the console.

Now before you get too excited, this is hardly an ideal setup, and it is hardly an ideal process. For starters it seems that most titles will need to run between low to medium graphics settings in order for it to run smoothly. We’re guessing this has less to do with the PS4’s capabilities but rather how it the game was never optimized for the PS4 in the first place, and neither was the PS4 designed to run Steam.

Also the way to go about getting your PS4 to run Steam would involve reverting to a really, really old version of the firmware, jailbreaking it, and installing Linux, which for most of us will probably be too much work for it to be worth it. However you can enjoy the fruits of OsirisX’s labor by checking out the demo above.

This Fully-Functioning 3D Printed Motorcycle Will Cost €50,000

light riderIf you think that 3D printing is simply limited to just printing bones or body parts for medical purposes, think again because for all we know, one day we could be driving around in 3D printed vehicles. Heck, in fact that time appears to be now thanks to Airbus’s subsidiary APWorks who has created what they are calling the world’s first 3D printed motorcycle.

Is that statement true? We suppose if we are looking 3D printed motorcycles, maybe not because for those unfamiliar, earlier this year there was a man who 3D printed a 1972 Honda CB500 motorcycle replica. However the motorcycle was merely a replica and does not actually work, while APWorks’s “Light Rider” does, although it will cost you €50,000.

The material used is melted miniscule aluminum alloy particles which helped account for its light-weight, which according to the company weighs a mere 77 pounds. It also sports an engine that will allow it to go from 0 to 50 miles in a few seconds, which isn’t exactly the fastest bike we’ve seen, but we reckon you should probably be amazed by the fact that it is 3D printed and less on its performance.

As for its somewhat alien/futuristic design, the company claims that this is a marriage of designing a bike that is both light and capable of withstanding the daily rigors of being ridden around. “The result: a motorcycle that looks more like an organic exoskeleton than a machine. That was a very deliberate design goal for APWorks, which programmed the algorithm to use bionic structures and natural growth processes and patterns as the basis for developing a strong but lightweight structure.”

The company announced that they only plan to make about 50 units, so we’re guessing that they’ll be sold out fairly quickly.

Alleged iPhone 7 Prototype Case Shows Four Speaker Grills

iPhone-7-Proto-Italien-01Thanks to the leaked drawings and unofficial renderings, we kind of have an idea of what the iPhone 7 will look like. However thanks to newly leaked photos (courtesy of Nowhereelse.fr) that are supposedly that of a prototype iPhone 7 case that shows a slightly different design than what we have been seeing so far.

As you can see in the photos, one of the noticeable changes would be how the flash has been repositioned from the side of the camera lens to sitting below it. Also what’s interesting is the fact that the lens cutout seems to be larger than that of the previous iPhone. Of course it’s hard to tell how much larger or maybe it’s the same and it’s merely a perspective issue, but from the photos alone it does look to be a bit bigger.

An interesting addition to the design would be the four speaker grills placed at the top and bottom of the phone. While the four speaker setup can be found on the iPad Pro tablets, there was never any mention of a similar setup coming to the iPhone 7. At most what we heard was the removal of the headphone jack (which is missing from the prototype) would allow Apple to add another speaker.

In any case overall the design is similar to what we’ve seen so far save for some slight changes which may or may not be fake, but it’s still a good idea to take it with a grain of salt for now.

Latest Overwatch Animated Short ‘Hero’ Released

If you love the direction that Blizzard has been taking when it comes to giving their characters and the game a bit of a backstory, you’ll be pleased to learn that the latest animated short dubbed “Hero” has been released. This animated short will feature the Soldier 76 character which you will be able to play in the game.

Now according to a report from last week, it was speculated that there could be a new hero announced in the video, but unfortunately it does not look like there was. If there is, maybe it will be a separate post but for now we guess gamers who had their hopes up will now have their hopes dashed.

Oddly enough this animated short only seems to feature one character – Soldier 76. So far the previous animated shorts we’ve seen has covered at least two heroes each, like Winston and Reaper, Widowmaker and Tracer, and Hanzo and Genji, so it’s strange that this short only covers Soldier 76.

In any case the short looks amazing, which we expected nothing less from Blizzard. Overwatch will be released on the 24th of May. Launch time and details can be found here. In the meantime if you have a few minutes to spare, you definitely won’t want to miss out on this animated short.

Student Finds Flaws In Police Protocols, Gets Suspended Prison Sentence

hackWhen it comes to hacks, we have those who are black hat hackers who typically hack for personal gain. Then you have white hat hackers who hack for the greater good, like identifying exploits, loopholes, and vulnerabilities in hardware, software, systems, and etc. Sometimes these white hat hackers go on to receive rewards for discovering flaws.

Sometimes they also get in legal trouble, such as in this case of a 26-year old student at the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security in Maribor, Slovenia when he discovered a flaw in the police communications protocol. The student in question, Dejan Ornig, discovered a flaw in the state-developed system and publicly disclosed the issues.

However his decision to go public only came about after he had inform the authorities but nothing had been done. In fact this is similar to Google’s Project Zero’s guidelines in which they will publicly disclose the flaw if companies do not respond to it in a timely manner. Now you might be thinking that the fact that he publicly disclosed it led to him getting in trouble, and you would be partially right.

He was also found to have tried to hack the network on 3 separate occasions and when the police conducted a search of his house, they found equipment that could intercept the police communications, and a fake police badge which they believe he wanted to use to impersonate a police officer. The semi-good news is that despite all of his, and his (possibly misguided) good intentions, Ornig has received a 15 month suspended prison sentence, and will not go to jail if he does not repeat his crime for at least the next 3 years.

Reminder: The Right-Wing Owes Us 25 Billion Dollars

Rest assured, Bobby Jindal (R-LA). Republicans are not the stupid party. They are the evil party.

Democrats are the stupid party. With the havoc that could be wreaked by the Zika virus, the right-wing feel they must “find” money in the budget to offset the research and development necessary to be ready for it.

But, $25 billion to shut down the government? Not a problem.

The Democrats are genetically incapable of calling them on it. A statement here or there, and that is it. Or, as Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) once told me about another subject, “didn’t you see my press release?”

Like Katrina and 9/11, we know it is coming. And yet, like Katrina and 9/11, Republicans sit on their hands.

After all, how much more fun to blame Obama for Zika, as Donald Trump will certainly do. And, while they are at it, they will make it more and more difficult for mothers who are carrying the microcephalic babies to have abortions.

This, Secretary Clinton/Senator Sanders/Senator Reid/Congresswoman Pelosi, could not be an easier case to make to shape public sentiment.

Republicans owe the country $25 billion from a shutdown so absurd that their own Speaker, John Boehner (R-OH) lashed out at it, and the architects said they they knew in advance it would fail.

$25 billion.

U.S. taxpayers will, thank you very much, take the first $1.9 billion of that back to protect unborn children and mothers from the Zika virus. (Unborn children? Who, pray tell, pontificates their love for them?)

A little clue on how to make this happen. Speak about it from all quarters. Have Hillary and Bernie call into morning news programs, just like Trump does, to talk about it. Repeat-repeat-repeat-repeat-repeat. Keep making the distinction. Demand the first “credit” from the $25B the right-wing owes the country is protection against the Zika virus.

Every time you are on a Sunday morning yapping show, talk about it. Bring every question back to Zika, right-wing obstruction, hypocrisy over protecting the unborn, $25 billion they blew on the government shutdown.

Of course, the above scenario will never happen. After all, the Dems are indeed the stupid party.
