Samsung manufactures their own chipsets, and last we checked, they also help other companies manufacture as well, such as Apple and Qualcomm. However relying on a handful of companies isn’t a very smart idea because if a couple pulls out, they’ll be in trouble. This is why according to reports, Samsung plans on opening its doors to more companies.
The reports claim that Samsung will be opening up its semiconductor foundry to small and medium-sized companies from the US, China, and South Korea. The idea is to try and reduce their reliance on other companies such as Apple and Qualcomm, with the former already starting to move away from Samsung to the likes of TSMC for their A-series chipsets.
In fact Samsung’s decision doesn’t come as a surprise. Just last week, Intel also announced that they will now start making ARM-based chipsets for other companies. Prior to this, Intel also made chipsets for other companies, but only if they were based on Intel’s architecture, but the decision to start manufacturing ARM would also mean more competition for the likes of Samsung, which is why like we said, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Samsung will now want to attract more customers for the future.

This is How South Florida Ends
Posted in: Today's ChiliIt’s a scorching midsummer day, and the sawgrass is still under a pale blue sky. Waist-deep in water and sinking slowly into the muck, I fend off mosquitos as a man from South Florida’s Water Management District mixes a bag of salt into a hot tub-sized bucket on the side of the road. Thirty feet away in the marsh, another city official wearing waders and a bug hat stands on a narrow steel walkway, dangling the end of a long hose over a plexiglass chamber.
It’s almost baffling to think that despite the many ways we can check the time, especially in our display-saturated era, BT’s speaking clock still receives roughly 12 million calls each year. Dial 123 on most phones (at a cost of at least 45p!) and y…
We have the Xbox One, the Xbox One S, and Project Scorpio (whatever it will be called in the future), but now it looks like we have one more Xbox that we can add to the list, the Xbox Onesie. OK so maybe we were kidding about a new Xbox, but the Xbox Onesie is real, and as you can see in the image above, it is literally that, a onesie.
According to the definition of a onesie, it is “an infant’s one-piece close-fitting lightweight garment, usually having sleeves but leaving the legs uncovered and fastening with snaps at the crotch.” The Xbox Onesie isn’t quite the same, and if anything it kind of reminds us more of a jumpsuit and less of a onesie, although admittedly the Xbox Onesie moniker is a heck lot more catchy.
Microsoft is boasting that the Xbox Onesie is “everything an entertainment enthusiast could need when streaming a favourite TV show or film, watching sports or embarking on the ultimate gaming session.” It will feature giant pockets in which gamers can stuff their controllers into, and an extra large hood that will fit a gaming headphone.
The forearms have also been designed to grip the armrests of your chair so that your arms don’t slip while you’re playing. Unfortunately there is no word oh how much they will cost, or when they will be made available, but according to Microsoft, they will be limited and more details will be revealed soon. So, any takers?
