Not all SD cards are created equal. While these pieces of plastic are more known for providing extra storage for digital cameras and laptops, some cards offer more. These are the so-called Wi-Fi SD cards, enabling wireless transfer from SD card to some other wirelessly connected device. And there are, in fact, two competing, ergo incompatible, brands: Eyefi and Toshiba’s … Continue reading
Xiaomi might be known as a smartphone manufacturer by many, but it seems that they want to be known as a company that makes electronics, kind of like what LG and Samsung are also known for. In fact we’ve seen the company launch non-smartphone products like drones, air purifiers, and just recently, an electric screwdriver.
Now it looks like they have another non-smartphone product in the works in the form of the Super Filter Kettle L1. Believe it or not, this is actually not the first time the company has launched a kettle. In June, the company launched the Mi Kettle which is basically a standard kettle, but with the Super Filter Kettle L1, the company is taking things to the next level.
As the name implies, this kettle comes with a filter meaning that if you’re particular about the water you drink, then this kettle comes with technology to help reduce/remove impurities in the water, like smell, kill bacteria, and so on. It is also pretty stylish, we might add, and will be able to hold 1.5 liters of water.
Xiaomi is hoping to crowdfund the Super Filter Kettle L1 which they have priced at 249 Yuan, which is about $38 when converted, which is pretty affordable. We’re not sure if there are plans to bring it stateside, similar to other Xiaomi products, but it is an interesting direction they are headed towards.

That feeling of wanting to smash your smartphone while connected to an over-crowded and impossibly sluggish public wi-fi network might soon be gone as researchers at MIT have come up with a way to boost wireless network speeds by cleverly coordinating multiple routers.
