We’re now several years past the unintended acceleration scandal that cost Toyota billions of dollars over what we now know for sure was almost entirely human error. But today, our cars are starting to drive themselves. If you don’t see the problem with this, you should.
These days, expensive headgear is becoming more and more common. There are two consumer virtual reality headsets, the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, available for prices of $600 and $800, respectively. That’s already a steep buy, and it doesn’t include the high-end gaming PC required to run the devices. But now here’s Nike debuting a pair of sunglasses that cost … Continue reading
We’ve quickly reached the point where rumors and leaks about new versions of Apple’s EarPods headphones are just as prevalent as those about the upcoming headphone jack-less iPhone 7 itself. Over the past few weeks, there’s been several questionable images claiming to show a new pair of wired Earpods that use a Lightning connector instead of a standard 3.5mm plug. … Continue reading

If you are one of the people who get annoyed when you see others using selfie sticks, you will have something new to be annoyed about soon. The Edelkrone Povie is a smartphone holder meant to allow the user to record point of view videos and still have their hands available
It might be the perfect thing for geeky unboxing videos or recording yourself cooking, but it still looks rather silly.
Povie is a necklace-style smartphone mount made from ABS and silicone injection molded parts. Your smartphone is held onto the Povie with a powerful magnet, which can hold devices up to about a half pound.
The section that the smartphone sticks to is angle adjustable so you can fine-tune your video, and since the screen faces outward, someone else can monitor what you’re capturing. That said, you are limited the the video resolution of your front-facing camera, which is often lower than the main camera on back.
The biggest downside to the Povie is that you look pretty ridiculous with your smartphone around your neck. You can order Povie now for $49.99(USD).
