Without the presence of Google, Faroe Island residents had to rely on camera-equipped sheep to provide 360 degree “Sheep View” images of the bucolic isle. While that’s adorable, digital tourists probably want to see more than just areas with the most…
Children of the 1990s have something to get excited about, as Netflix has announced a new show starring none other than Bill Nye The Science Guy. Dubbed “Bill Nye Saves the World,” this new endeavor will put Bill Nye in the driver’s seat of his very own talk show. As someone who looked forward to those days in science class … Continue reading
Yesterday, popular YouTube personality PewDiePie made minor headlines for losing his Twitter verification checkmark. Today, he was briefly suspended for the service. “I did this yesterday as a joke,” he explained on Youtube, teasing users who view Tw…
Lenovo have revealed their latest in tablet / notebook hardware with the device known as Lenovo Miix 510. This device is a high-powered tablet-like PC with a detachable keyboard and a kickstand around the back – not entirely unlike the original Miix 310 released earlier this year. This device has the ability to connect to the web with Wi-Fi and … Continue reading
Lenovo’s hoopla at IFA may be focusing on its creative-minded Yoga Book, but there are two new bread-and-butter tablets that are worth your attention, too. The 12.2-inch Miix 510 is a Surface Pro-alike for people who want a reasonably speedy 2-in-1…
Verizon’s release of the Moto Z Play Droid will, as the name indicates, be another DROID-branded device. Let’s face it: tablets are on the brink of death, and it’s really difficult to get excited about a new slate these days. And even though tablet-laptop hybrids are taking off, that market is cornered by Surfaces and iPad Pros. So I wasn’t prepared to…
You might not be aware but Google is in the business of selling wireless routers as well. The company launched its OnHub router last year. It’s a powerful router with a stylish design that offers a lot of features as well which will appeal to power users. It has been one full year since OnHub was released and to commemorate this milestone Google today announced the addition of a new feature. The OnHub routers are now capable of controlling your Philips Hue smart lighting system.
Philips Hue is the first connected device that you can control directly with OnHub, and I have a feeling that it’s certainly not going to be the last.
This integration means that users can control the Philips Hue lighting system without needing to install an additional app on their phone. When they are connected to OnHub, they just need to type “On.Here” inside a web browser on any mobile, computer or tablet. This lets them control the most popular features of Philips Hue from inside the browser.
That’s not all, though. Again, to commemorate the first anniversary of its router, Google is offering the OnHub router for $20 off. This offer is good for an entire month so have until September 30th to purchase it for $20 off from the Google Store and Amazon.

Lenovo suggests the Yoga Tab 3 Plus could be “your personal TV.” If you’re the sort of person who relies solely on apps for entertainment, they might be right. This device is one of Lenovo’s unique tablets-with-kickstands, working with a 2K display, Android inside, and a chassis that aims for a high-end experience. If the Tab 3 Pro seemed too … Continue reading
