Serena Williams Strolls By A Park And Challenges Two Random Dudes To Tennis

These guys must still be pinching themselves.

Tennis superstar Serena Williams was strolling by a park with fiancé Alexis Ohanian and her dog, Chip, in San Francisco Sunday night when she spotted two men playing singles, news outlets reported.

Despite wearing furry boots, Williams playfully challenged the two to a match.

They recognized her, but who in the world would turn down a one-in-a-gazillion shot at exchanging shots with arguably the G.O.A.T.? Not these two. One of them offered her a racket and it was game-on.

Check out Williams’ Snapchat entry of the encounter, which For The Win’s Alysha Tsuji edited:

“The moral of the story is that you never know when I’ll be coming to a tennis court near you,” she said.

Russia's Mysterious Cyber Treason Case Just Got Even Sketchier

Late last year, top cybersecurity investigators from a private firm and Russian intelligence were arrested in dramatic fashion. One was dragged out of a meeting with a bag over his head. All were disappeared. Details were scare at the time, but revelations from a new Reuters report now only complicate what we know.

ZeniMax Wants The Courts To Halt Oculus Rift Sales Completely

Back in 2014, ZeniMax took Oculus to court in which they allege that Oculus apparently “misappropriated ZenMax trade secrets”, or so they claimed. Earlier this month a jury in Dallas, Texas ruled in favor of ZeniMax where they awarded the company a whopping $500 million in damages.

As if this wasn’t enough, a report from Upload VR has revealed that ZeniMax is asking the court to halt the sales of Oculus Rift completely on a worldwide basis. In an injunction filed by ZeniMax and uploaded by Upload VR, part of the filing reads, “…permanently enjoined, on a worldwide basis, from using…any of the Copyrighted Materials, including but not limited to (i) system software for Oculus PC (including the Oculus PC SDK); (ii) system software for Oculus Mobile (including the Oculus Mobile SDK); (iii) Oculus integration with the Epic Games Unreal Engine; and (iv) Oculus integration with the Unity Technologies Unity Game Engine.”

As to whether or not the $500 million in damages was enough compensation, ZeniMax responded by saying, “The jury’s damage award here, however substantial, is an insufficient incentive for Defendants to cease infringing. Just minutes after the jury revealed its verdict, Facebook’s COO, Sheryl Sandberg, publicly stated that the jury’s verdict of a half billion dollars was ‘not material to [Facebook’s] financials.’”

As to whether or not the courts will rule in ZeniMax’s favor remains to be seen, but there are some who believe that it might not be upheld simply because the jury did not find that Oculus had stolen trade secrets from ZeniMax, but rather they ruled on how Oculus’ co-founder Palmer Luckey failed to comply with a non-disclosure agreement, thus making Oculus liable as a result.

Fossil To Update Their Smartwatches To Android Wear 2.0 Mid-March

With Android Wear 2.0 having already been released, we’re sure owners of Android Wear devices are wondering when their smartwatches can expect the upgrade. On Google’s website they have pretty much confirmed which devices are eligible for the update, and Fossil’s smartwatch lineup are some of them.

For those wondering when Fossil will be pushing out the update, you’ll be pleased to learn that Fossil has confirmed on Twitter that the update should be rolling out mid-March. According to Fossil, the update will be available to all of their smartwatches. “The update is expected to be released in mid March to all of our devices.”

We’re not sure if the rollout dates will be different depending on which region you are in, but hopefully if there is a bit of delay between the different markets that it won’t be too long. Fossil’s rep did not respond when asked whether or not the update will be released in phases so for Fossil Android Wear smartwatch owners, we guess the best thing you can do is just remain patient and wait for it.

We’re already at the end of February so a couple of weeks of waiting wouldn’t kill you, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for its release and will update you guys accordingly.

Google Play Store Will Now Show App Sales And Free Offers

Every now and then, developers will offer discounts on their apps. Whether it be to celebrate the anniversary of the game’s launch, or maybe it’s a seasonal offer for Christmas, whatever the reason is discounts do happen. However to better reflect these discounts, it seems Google has made some changes to the Play Store.

If you can see in the screenshot above, basically it seems that developers will now have the ability to show discounted prices in the Play Store. This means that developers create list their apps with the discounted price and show how much it used to cost, thus giving users an idea of how much money they will be saving.

Given that it would be impossible for users to keep track of the prices of all the apps in the Play Store, this will be handy in showing users how much they could save. Not to mention there are probably some users who might only consider making a purchase if it is greater than 50%, for example.

In addition to this change, Google has also made it so that select developers could make paid listings free temporarily. This is more of a change that benefits developers because prior to this, apps that were made free had to be relisted again if they were to become paid, thus losing out ratings/reviews in the process. These changes should be live so don’t be surprised if you see them in the Google Play Store.

10th Anniversary iPhone Rumored To Sport Curved OLED Display

The iPhone 8 rumors are pretty much all over the place, with some saying Apple will make the full switch to OLED, while others are claiming that Apple will have an iPhone variant that sports the OLED display, while the rest will continue to use LCD. Whether or not this is because of shortage of OLED panels or by choice is unclear.

Now according to a report from The Wall Street Journal (paywall; MacRumors), they are claiming that their sources have told them that Apple is expected to launch an iPhone with a curved OLED display, but they claim that this iPhone will be a “special” iPhone that was created to celebrate Apple’s 10th iPhone anniversary.

As for the other iPhones, Apple is expected to continue the traditional cycle where this year we can expect the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus which will sport regular LCD displays, although whether or not they will see a change in their design remains to be seen. The report by the WSJ seems to be in line with KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who had previously predicted the release of at least 3 iPhones this year.

It does look like this release could further fragmentize the iPhones which is quite unlike Apple, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime do take it with a grain of salt.

It seems that the still unconfirmed Windows 10 Cloud might not be so bad after all. Well, it still depends on how the Windows Store app narrative plays out but at least there’s hope.
