active-pad-muscle-training-gear-ems-fitness-1

Despite it still being winter, now is the best possible time to start thinking about that “beach body”, if you’re interested in attaining that sort of thing. You can only safely lose 1-2 pounds a week, giving you just enough time to shave off that 20 you’ve been meaning to drop by summer if you start now. Magazines will start telling you to do crash diets around May when it’s already too late.

For those that are already on the health and wellness train and want to start defining and toning what they have already worked to achieve, this Active Pad Muscle Training Gear could give you a little boost. It’s marketed as a way to train without going to the gym, but that only has a kernel of truth. This is an electrical muscle stimulation system that will force your muscles to contract and release, which will give you some noticeable change, but only when other changes are being made to your lifestyle as well.

These use gel sheets to stick to you, and come in 2 different versions with either two or four pads depending on how much area you plan on working. Getting backup gel pads will cost you $57 or $78 depending on whether you’d like an extra 2 or 4 handy. This can be used just about anywhere on the body whether it’s arms, legs, thighs, or abs, but you’ll want to read up a bit on how these affect you before leaping on this $222 purchase.

Game Boy Heat Change Mug Doesn’t Play Tetris

I remember when the Nintendo Game Boy came out back in the day and we were all super excited that you could play games on the go. The graphics were terrible though. If you want to relive that mobile retro gaming action, the Game Boy 16oz heat change mug is just the ticket.

This square coffee mug holds 16 ounces of liquid. If said liquid is hot, it will change the black screen of the Game Boy on the cup into a green screenshot from Super Mario Bros. It’s made from ceramic, but you can’t microwave it due to the special heat-sensitive stuff.

The mug will set you back $12.99(USD) at ThinkGeek.

Netflix HDR Support For Smartphones Arrives With LG G6

Netflix is one of the world’s leading online video streaming services and it continues to make improvements to its offerings. Many subscribers might be wondering when the company plans on bringing HDR streams to smartphones. Fortunately, Netflix does have an answer for them. The company has confirmed at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona that it’s going to start supporting HDR streams on smartphones with the LG G6.

“Starting with the LG G6 phones that support both Dolby Vision and HDR 10 streams, Netflix would be supporting HDR on mobile devices,” confirmed Netflix CEO Reed Hastings during a session at the Mobile World Congress 2017.

The company has already been offering HDR streams but in order to experience the enhanced visual quality, users have to buy an expensive TV first that has support for HDR, otherwise, they won’t be able to see the difference on a normal TV. However, with HDR support on compatible smartphones starting with the LG G6, they won’t need to buy an expensive TV if they just want to get a feel of what the full is all about.

Hastings also revealed that the company is working on new innovative encoding technologies to provide enhanced video quality while using less bandwidth. “Netflix will soon roll out new video encodes for mobile devices, providing someone who has an extremely poor internet connection watching on a cell network something that once was considered impossible,” he added.

Ubisoft Developing Avatar Game

James Cameron came out with his super hit Avatar movie back in 2009 and the film has since cemented its place in pop culture. While the director continues to work on the film’s sequel, Ubisoft has confirmed that its Malmo-based studio Massive Entertainment is teaming up with Lightbox Entertainment and Fox Interactive to develop a new Avatar game. Ubisoft made this announcement during the GDC 2017 earlier today.

This isn’t the first Avatar game that Ubisoft has created. Ubisoft Montreal released James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game in 2009 around the same time the movie hit the big screen. However, it goes without saying that the new game will be considerably better than that.

The new Avatar game is going to be released for both PC and gaming consoles. It’s going to use the Snowdrop Engine which is the same in-house engine that Tom Clancy’s The Division uses as well.

Ubisoft says that the new game is going to “expand and deepen in the Avatar universe in exciting and innovative ways along with the films.” James Cameron is planning to make four sequels to the original Avatar film so there’s quite a bit yet to come in this franchise.

The Avatar sequel is not scheduled to be released before 2018 and it’s unclear at this point in time when the new Avatar game is going to be released.
