Border Agents Demand ID From Passengers Leaving Domestic Flight At JFK

Customs and Border Protection agents requested identity documents from passengers disembarking a domestic flight at New York City’s John F. Kennedy Airport on Wednesday.

Passenger Kelley Amadei told New York’s local NBC News station that as Delta flight 1583 was taxiing to the gate around 8:30 p.m, an attendant told travelers to get their identification documents ready for review.

Before passengers even stepped onto the jet bridge, they were met by two agents from CBP.

The incident prompted some passengers on the flight from San Francisco to share images of the ordeal online, amid increased tensions after President Donald Trump’s administration issued a wide-ranging set of orders instructing all agents to quickly deport undocumented immigrants.

In a statement that New York Times reporter Eli Rosenberg posted on Twitter, CBP said it was assisting Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in locating a person they believed may have been on the flight.

An immigration judge had ordered that person’s removal. The Washington Post reported the person was an undocumented immigrant facing a deportation order.

A CBP spokesperson told NBC News that they did not have a picture of who they were looking for, just a name. The agency “does this regularly,” the spokesperson added. Many on Twitter did not agree.

Delta did not return The Huffington Post’s request for comment. However, it responded to some Twitter users demanding to know why passengers were required to show identification when leaving the plane.  In a series of tweets, Delta responded with CBP’s above statement that Rosenberg posted.

Little Tikes Recalls 540,000 Swings After Dozens Of Kids Are Injured

Little Tikes announced Thursday that the company is voluntarily recalling about 540,00 toddler swings after multiple injury reports.

The toy manufacturer is recalling Little Tikes 2-in-1 Snug’n Secure pink toddler swings because the plastic can break and crack, which poses a fall hazard, according to an official report published on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website. The seat is designed for children aged 9 months to 4 years. It has a weight limit of up to 50 pounds.

Customers who own this particular Little Tikes swing should check their product for model number 615573 molded on the back of the equipment’s seat. The company also said customers should check the product’s manufacture date code on the back of the seat.

“The molded INNER arrow of the date code stamp points to ‘10’, ‘11’, ‘12’ or ‘13’ … In addition, swings with a date code stamp of ‘9’ on the INNER arrow combined with ‘43’ or higher number stamped on the OUTER are included in this recall,” Little Tikes said. The affected models were on sale from November 2009 and May 2014.

The company received roughly 140 injury complaints due to the swing breaking, two of which involved broken arms. Thirty-nine reports had to do with children getting bruises and cuts and bumps to the head.

Customers who believe they own a swing included in the recall should stop using the product and contact the company for a refund.

Police Raid On Cold War-Era Nuclear Bunker Yields $1.2 Million Worth Of Weed

Police in southwest England uncovered an “enormous” cannabis factory during a midnight raid on a Cold War-era nuclear bunker.

Officers discovered thousands of plants worth an estimated $1.2 million inside the Chilmark Regional Government Headquarters’ underground shelter in Wiltshire, on Wednesday night.

There are approximately 20 rooms in the building, split over two floors, each 200 feet long and 70 feet wide,” said Wiltshire Police detective inspector Paul Franklin via a statement. “Almost every single room had been converted for the wholesale production of cannabis plants.”

There was also “a large amount of evidence of previous crops,” he added.

Police acted on a tipoff to stake out the “almost completely impenetrable” shelter, which they said was constructed in the 1980s to house and protect government officials in the event of a nuclear attack.

On seeing three men leave the former Ministry of Defense-owned site, they arrested them and seized their keys. Officers then found and arrested two more men and a teenage boy inside, who they believe were tending to the cannabis plants.

Franklin described the setup as the “largest and most sophisticated cannabis factory I’ve ever experienced.”

The three men detained outside the bunker were aged 27, 30 and 45 and from the neighboring county of Somerset. Officers arrested each of the trio on suspicion of cannabis production and human trafficking.

The three arrested inside, aged 15, 19 and 37, who were of no fixed abode, face cannabis production charges.

Here’s a sure way to strike out if you’re dating Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander: Expect sex before or after a game.

Sports Illustrated cover model Kate Upton, the baseball star’s fiancee, revealed details of the couple’s love life on “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen on Wednesday.

“There’s no sex before a game, absolutely none,” Upton said.

“Also what I’ve just found is if he plays too well, there’s no sex after either,” she added later. “He’s too exhausted, kind of a buzzkill for me.”

Upton has referenced the couple’s sex life before, tweeting this in response to Verlander losing the Cy Young Award vote.

LG X Power2 Announced With 4,500mAh Battery

Smartphone battery sizes these days have certainly come a very long way from back in the day. However at the same time many of us are still finding ourselves in situations where our phone batteries barely get us through the day, so if you’re after a smartphone that comes with a battery that could last you all day, the LG X power2 might be of interest to you.

Announced ahead of MWC 2017, LG has taken the wraps off a smartphone called the LG X power2. While its specs aren’t exactly the most impressive we’ve seen, what really impresses us about the phone is its battery in which LG has managed to pack a 4,500mAh battery under the hood.

According to LG, the 4,500mAh battery should support continuous video playback for as long as 15 hours. It is also expected to be able to provide navigational directions for up to 14 hours, and surf the web for about 18 hours. There is also high-speed charging included so you’ll be able to replenish the phone’s battery in a relatively short amount of time.

In terms of specs, like we said they aren’t the most impressive, but they should be good enough to get the job done. We’re talking about a 5.5-inch HD display, a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, and it will come with Android 7.0 Nougat preinstalled. No word on pricing yet but it will be available come March in Latin America, followed by the US, Asia, and Europe.

ARCHOS Unveils New 50 Graphite, 55 Graphite Budget Smartphones

When it comes to budget smartphones, there is a reason why they are budget and that is because manufacturers will omit certain features or choose to use lower-end specs compared to flagship handsets. This makes perfect sense, but sometimes customers on a budget tend to be left out of certain things.

However if you’re after a budget smartphone that won’t make you feel left out, you might be interested to learn that ARCHOS has announced two new phones ahead of MWC 2017 in the form of the ARCHOS 50 Graphite and 55 Graphite. What makes these phones different from most budget handsets is that they come with certain features that tend to only find their way onto high-end devices.

This comes in the form of a fingerprint sensor and dual-lens cameras on the back. Both these features will be shared across either device, although there will be some differences. For example the 55 Graphite will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display and a 1.5GHz MediaTek quad-core processor under the hood, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.

The 50 Graphite on the other hand will be smaller at 5-inches and will sport less RAM at 1GB, but other than that it seems that both phones should share relatively similar specs. Interestingly enough ARCHOS has put a disclaimer in which they state that specs may vary by country, but hopefully we’ll have more details when these phones are demoed at MWC 2017 next week.

More Alleged Details About Samsung Galaxy Book Surfaces

Earlier this week it was rumored that Samsung could be working on a new tablet called the Samsung Galaxy Book. Now thanks to the folks at MSPowerUser (via SamMobile), additional details of the alleged tablet have surfaced, so if you’re after a tablet that isn’t powered by Android, perhaps this might be the tablet for you.

According to the report from last week, it was already speculated that the Galaxy Book could be powered by Windows as an app called Book Settings was spotted on the Windows Store. Now according to the latest leak of information, it seems that the tablet will indeed be powered by Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system.

The report goes on to add how the Galaxy Book is also expected to feature LTE support and it will also be able to accept S Pen input, although to what extent we can’t be sure. Whether or not S Pen support means we’ll see features similar to the Galaxy Note series, or maybe it just means that it’ll support the stylus in general.

In any case we’re not sure when exactly the alleged Samsung Galaxy Book will be launched, but with MWC 2017 kicking off next week we suppose that could be the perfect time to make an announcement. There are no guarantees but check back with us next week where hopefully we’ll have the details for you guys.
