Amazon Delays Launch Of Cashless Grocers

You might have heard about Amazon’s plans to revolutionize the way we shop for groceries with Amazon Go. For those who haven’t heard about Amazon Go, basically this is Amazon’s vision of the future where a retail shop is packed full of sensors so that customers can just pick up what they need and go without having to queue at a cashier.

This is because for every item you pick up, it will be scanned and added to your account, where you will be charged via your credit card. It sounds like quite a dream system, but unfortunately a report from The Wall Street Journal has revealed that Amazon has run into some issues with the system and has since delayed its launch.

The company was apparently targeting a launch by the end of March, but it seems that the system at the moment isn’t functioning as well as Amazon would like. It turns out that it isn’t equipped to handle more than 20 customers at once, and anything more and the system will break down and people in the store become too difficult to follow.

Unfortunately it is unclear as to when Amazon Go will be launched following this setback, but clearly this is a problem that Amazon needs to deal with. It is also an interesting move for Amazon who has largely existed in the virtual space, although in recent times the company has expanded their physical operations to include bookstores and last we heard, they were also planning an augmented reality furniture store.

iOS 10.3 Patches Safari Security Hole

iOS 10.3 has been released for iOS users, and we know that there are some users out there who tend to wait before updating to see if there are any bugs. That is completely understandable, however for security reasons perhaps it might be worth updating to iOS 10.3 as soon as possible.

Why is this, you ask? According to the folks at ArsTechnica (via 9to5Mac), it seems that iOS 10.3 has included a fix in which it will patch a security hole in Safari that allows hackers to take control of your browser, and in return demand ransom before it is released back to the control of the user.

Prior to iOS 10.3, the issue could be dealt with by clearing the browsing history and the cache, but we guess this is something that not all users might be familiar with. So with iOS 10.3, Apple has basically closed the hole so that hackers will never be able to pull this hack off again, thus making life a bit safer for iOS users on Safari.

Researchers at Lookout have detailed the vulnerability, but like we said with iOS 10.3 Apple has since patched the problem, so maybe you’ll want to update just to be safe. The update also brings about new features like Find My AirPods and also allowing users to leave in-app ratings.

Alleged Moto X (2017) Photos Leaked

Ever since Motorola launched the Moto Z series of phones, many are wondering what has become of the Moto X. Now Motorola has since reassured their customers that the Moto Z will not be replacing the Moto X, and now thanks to the folks at Android Police, photos of the alleged 2017 Moto X have surfaced.

The handset’s design in question isn’t particularly striking and it is pretty normal. However as you can see in the photo above, the handset appears to sport a dual camera setup in a rather interesting position. The handset also appears to come with an oval-shaped fingerprint sensor which is a bit hard to make out, but it is there.

The leakster even provided photos of the bootloader screen which has revealed some of its specs, which includes a Qualcomm MSM8953 processor which is basically the Snapdragon 625. It also lists 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, indicating that this phone is most likely going to be the company’s new mid-ranger.

Also what’s interesting is that in the photos, there does not appear to be any of the pins that would allow the phone to support the Moto Mods accessories, meaning that if you want to use the Moto Mods, you’ll need to stick with Motorola’s Moto Z lineup. No word on when the phone will be officially announced, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled, but until then take it with a grain of salt.

CNN Trump Surrogate Kayleigh McEnany Botches Basic Facts While Ripping Obama

Kayleigh McEnany, one of CNN’s in-house surrogates for President Donald Trump, claimed that President Barack Obama went golfing after Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was murdered by terrorists.

“You have President Obama who, after the ― I believe it was after the beheading of Daniel Pearl ― spoke about how upset he was and then rushed off to a golf game,” McEnany said on CNN on Monday night.

Pearl was abducted and killed in 2002 when George W. Bush was president. Obama was a state senator in Illinois at the time.

McEnany may have been referring to freelance war correspondent James Foley, who was killed by terrorists in 2014. At the time, Obama was on vacation in Martha’s Vineyard, where he issued a statement and then went golfing. Obama was criticized over the incident, which he later admitted looked bad.

McEnany’s comments drew a swift reaction on social media, where she was blasted for botching the facts and for using Pearl’s name to score political points:

Stephen Colbert Slams Donald Trump’s ‘Bureau of Obvious Nepotism’

Stephen Colbert ripped President Donald Trump for hiring his own son-in-law for a key job in a newly created department.

Jared Kushner, who is married to the president’s elder daughter, Ivanka Trump, has been tapped by the commander in chief to oversee the “overhaul” of the government bureaucracy.

“And the government desperately needs overhaul,” Colbert said on the “Late Show” Monday night. “I mean, somebody keeps putting totally unqualified people in charge of really important stuff. That’s gotta stop!”

Colbert cracked that the original title of Kushner’s new “Office of American Innovation” was the “Bureau of Obvious Nepotism.”

Moto X 2017 leak reveals dual cameras, Snapdragon 625

Both CES and MWC 2017 have come and gone but Motorola has been relatively silent on its other smartphone lines. 2 Miami Police Officers Shot In Ambush-Style Attack

(Reuters) – A group of men shot and wounded two police officers in an ambush-style attack outside an apartment building in Miami late on Monday, media reported.

The officers were in an unmarked car at about 10 p.m. at the Annie Coleman housing projects, known as “The Rockies,” when the men walked up to the vehicle and opened fire, the Miami Herald newspaper reported.

At least one of the officers fired back, John Rivera, president of the Miami-Dade police union, said, and both survived the attack in the city’s Brownsville district.

“They were outnumbered and outgunned. God was watching over them tonight,” Rivera told the newspaper.

The unidentified officers were in stable condition at a local hospital, Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez told journalists.

“Our officers are out there every night risking their lives trying to bring safety to the community and what you saw today was an ambush-style attack on our police officers,” Perez said.

One of the officers was shot in the leg and the other was grazed by a bullet, the Herald reported.

Other police near the scene rushed the officers to hospital in the back of a pick-up truck, the newspaper reported. The two wounded men are part of a homicide task force-gang unit, it added.
