If you’ve ever been stuck in Los Angeles traffic, you know it can be a long while before you’re finally free. A single trip from A to B can take well over an hour, and that’s just enough time to create an entirely new piece of music…at least if you’re one of the artists featured on Spotify‘s new ‘Traffic Jams’ … Continue reading
March 30 (Reuters) – A portion of the Interstate 85 highway collapsed in Atlanta on Thursday due to a fire under the bridge, the city’s fire and rescue agency said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties in the incident but Atlanta Fire and Rescue said on Twitter that all lanes were blocked and that residents should avoid the area.
It was not immediately clear what was burning under the bridge, but local TV images showed bright orange flames and thick black smoke billowing into the sky above the freeway as a line of cars stood halted on either side.
Traffic was jammed on nearby roads and freeways as well, according to online congestion maps. The heavy smoke made it difficult to immediately determine how many lanes of the highway had collapsed.
A photo posted on the Twitter feed of local WSB-TV showed what appeared to be barrels and coils under the bridge.
The station reported that fire crews from nearby Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport were brought in to help and were spraying foam typically used for airplane crashes onto the flames. (Reporting by Dan Whitcomb; Editing by Sandra Maler)

Former Vice President Al Gore is returning with some more chilling news in a sequel to his groundbreaking documentary on climate change, and a key target will be Donald Trump, who is depicted as a villain in the trailer for the new film.
The trailer for “An Inconvenient Truth: Truth to Power,” features Trump at a campaign rally joking disdainfully — to loud laughter from the audience — that it’s “freezing” in Rochester, New York, when it’s “supposed to be 70 degrees.” It’s a not-subtle dig about fears over climate change, which the president thinks is a hoax. “Speaking of global warming … we need some global warming,” he quips.
In the trailer, Gore talks about dire changes, pointing out how many dismissed the “exaggerated” fears in his 2006 documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth,” that rising sea levels and storm surge could flood the World Trade Center memorial in Manhattan. The site flooded during Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
In the new film, Gore also points to a “tremendous amount of positive change,” including the 2015 Paris climate accord in which 195 nations agreed to cap greenhouse gas emissions to limit the rise of global temperatures to 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
Cue Trump again. He’s back on the stump in the trailer touting his “America first” slogan … that “includes the promise to cancel billions in climate change” prevention funding. “Our plan will end the EPA.”
Gore adds: “The next generation would be justified in looking back at us and asking, ‘What were you thinking? Couldn’t you hear what the scientists were saying? Couldn’t you hear what Mother Nature was screaming at you?’”
The trailer concludes: “Fight like your world depends on it.”
Trump signed an executive order Tuesday to begin rolling back Barack Obama’s Clean Power Plan, which limits greenhouse gas emissions from power plants. The order also instructs the Department of the Interior to lift the temporary ban on new coal leases on federal lands.
Global leaders have slammed Trump’s move, and on Thursday the Vatican urged Trump to change his position on climate change. “Fortunately, in the United States, there are dissenting voices, people who are against Trump’s positions,” said Cardinal Peter Turkson, the pope’s representative on environmental issues, Reuters reported. Turkson said China is beginning to “fill a vacuum” that the U.S. appears to be leaving as it abandons its role as a key protector of the environment.
Even Exxon Mobil has urged Trump to stick with the Paris Agreement.

Former national security adviser Michael Flynn, reportedly seeking immunity in exchange for his testimony in investigations of Russia’s ties to Donald Trump’s campaign, said last year that such deals mean “you’ve probably committed a crime.”
Flynn wasn’t even asked about immunity during his Sept. 25 appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Instead, he was asked about Trump’s debate preparation and whether it was enough.
Instead, he chose to respond to something that apparently had been mentioned earlier in the show.
“The very last thing that John Podesta just said is ‘No individual too big to jail.’ That should include people like Hillary Clinton,” he said. “I mean, five people around her have been given immunity, to include her former chief of staff.”
Then, he said:
“When you are given immunity, that means that you probably have committed a crime.”
Flynn ― who also led “Lock her up” chants at the Republican National Convention ― was referring to the investigation into Democratic candidate Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was U.S. secretary of state.
She was not charged with a crime.
The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that Flynn is seeking immunity in exchange for his testimony to the FBI, the House Intelligence Committee and the Senate Intelligence Committee.
The newspaper said none of the three has accepted an immunity offer.
Flynn resigned from his role in the Trump administration after just 24 days on the job when it was revealed that he had discussed American sanctions against Russia with its ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak, before Trump took office.
Flynn had previously denied having those discussions.

At the moment when it comes to mobile, Microsoft has been rather quiet on that front, although rumors of a Surface Phone have been popping up every now and then. However over the years we’ve seen the Redmond company make various attempts, such as releasing apps for both iOS and Android in an attempt to get users to use their products and services.
That strategy appears to be ongoing and Microsoft’s latest effort comes in the form of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Microsoft Edition. Basically this is the Samsung Galaxy S8 except that it will come with certain Microsoft customizations and apps that will not be available on the “regular” Galaxy S8 handsets.
Note that the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will come with Microsoft’s basic apps, like their Office suite of productivity apps as per their partnership from a couple of years ago. However the Microsoft Edition will come with additional Microsoft apps, such as Cortana, OneDrive, Outlook, Skype, MSN News, and more.
In a statement Microsoft provided to The Verge, it reads, “A Microsoft customization is applied to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Microsoft Edition when the devices are unboxed and connected to Wi-Fi. This customization ensures customers a best-in-class productivity experience with Microsoft applications such as Office, OneDrive, Cortana, Outlook and more.” The Samsung Galaxy S8 Microsoft Edition will be available for pre-orders now and can be purchased on the 21st of April at Microsoft Stores in the US.

With the way Google has been approaching Hangouts, it is clear that that they are positioning its Allo app for regular consumers, while Hangouts will be aimed at more users with more enterprise needs. If you’re still hesitating on getting on board with Allo, then you might be interested to learn that Google has a bunch of new features for the app in the works.
According to the folks at 9to5Google, after some digging they have discovered some upcoming features of the app that Google could be implementing in the near future. One of those features includes a backup and restore feature, which presumably would allow users to backup their chats and restore them, which will come in handy after a factory reset or if you’ve gotten a new device.
There also appears to be a “Quick selfie” feature where there will be a camera icon placed next to the text entry field, where pressing it will launch the camera app where you can snap a photo and send it to immediately to the person you’re chatting with. Google also appears to be adding more sticker options to that app, and last but not least 9to5Google has discovered an incognito mode for group chats.
Assuming this is like incognito mode for Chrome, this should allow users to create private group chats where presumably things like your chat log will not be recorded (we’re assuming since the feature isn’t live yet). In any case these are some of the features that users can potentially look forward to in future updates to the app.

If you grew up playing FPS games, there’s a good chance that you might have played one of the several Quake titles have been released. If you have, then you might have also heard that Bethesda and id Software will be back with a new Quake title in the form of Quake Champions, and that the game will be entering closed beta soon.
How soon, you ask? In an announcement on Bethesda’s website, it looks like the closed beta will be kicking off on the 6th of April. What this means is that you guys have got a little under a week to sign up to be part of it if you are interested via Bethesda’s website, although there is no guarantee that you will be chosen to be part of the initial group of testers.
However Bethesda notes that more players will eventually be added to the closed beta over time, so you might get your chance later on. No word on when Quake Champions will be launched, but a release is being planned for later this year so we guess gamers will just have to wait. There was no mention of an open beta so for now, it looks like this closed beta is the only way that you’ll be able to try the game before the final release.
Note that Quake Champions will be be a free-to-play game in the sense that there is no cost to get your hands on the game. However if players want to unlock the entire roster of characters, then they’ll have to pay a fee to do so, otherwise they will only have access to pretty much just one character.

Comcast has launched Xfinity Prepaid Internet for everyone located in the company’s service area, giving many people the opportunity to get Internet service in a way that isn’t dissimilar from how prepaid phone plans work.
