Apple’s CEO Tim Cook Pledges To Support ‘Pro’ Users

For the longest time ever, Apple’s products could be found in the homes, studios, and offices of industry professionals, such as graphic artists, music producers/composers, designers, photographers, and more. This is because despite their hefty price tags, Apple’s computers have been found to run professional software suites pretty well.

Unfortunately in recent times, many pro users are starting to feel that Apple is abandoning them and instead choosing to focus on the average consumer, but this is something that Apple has since denied. In a report from AppleInsider, they are saying that during Apple’s annual shareholder meeting, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook reassured shareholders that they were not abandoning their pro customers.

Noting that the creative and pro markets are still very important to the company, Cook was quoted as saying, “You will see us do more,” with regards to the Mac and its software. Like we said, some pro customers are starting to feel that Apple has put its pro users on the backburner, where computers like the Mac Pro have not been updated for the longest time ever.

They also point out how despite the MacBook Pro being a “Pro” laptop does not support 32GB of RAM, something that more pro users would have liked to see the option for. We’re not sure what Apple has planned for the future for their pro users, but we have heard that 2017’s MacBook Pro refresh could see Apple include 32GB RAM options.

Amazon Reportedly Developing A Commercial Version Of Alexa

Right now Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant software seems to be largely consumer-focused where it has ended up in speakers like the Echo, and where it is also expected to end up in more smartphones. However if the rumors have it right, it seems that a commercial version of Alexa designed for businesses could be in the works.

This is according to a report from The Information (paywall; via Engadget) where the publication claims that a commercial version of Alexa is being developed where it could potentially be used for customer service purposes. This is where instead of fielding questions and requests to order a pizza or an Uber, this version of Alexa is being designed to answer phone calls or even text messages.

At the moment the majority of customer service either involves a chatbot or a human, but presumably by using something like Alexa, it could provide a more interactive experience. This new software is apparently codenamed “Lily” and is expected to be officially announced in the middle of March.

Of course this won’t completely replace the need for humans as there are some instances in customer service where a human touch is needed, but if you’d rather not typing out your inquiries to a chatbot and you’d rather chat with “someone”, then this might be worth looking forward to, but take it with a grain of salt and hopefully we’ll have more details on how it will work come mid-March.

LG UltraFine 5K Displays Will Be Available In 1-2 Weeks

As you might have heard, the sales of the LG UltraFine 5K displays were suspended after it was discovered that due to insufficient RF shielding, the monitor’s functionality was affected when placed too close to routers. The sales were officially suspended earlier this month, but it looks like the problem has since been fixed.

It has been noticed on Apple’s Online Store that the LG UltraFine 5K display now has a shipping time of 1-2 weeks, which means that at the earliest, customers who place their orders now should be able to expect their delivery by the 8th of March at the very earliest, or the 15th of March at the latest, or at least that’s what we hope barring any supply issues or unforeseen delays.

The good news is that it looks like the 5K models are still eligible for the discount so for now, they are still priced at $974 which is still expensive, but definitely cheaper than what Apple and LG had originally priced them at, so if you are thinking of getting a new display then perhaps you’ll want to take advantage of this discount while it is still available.

Note that this problem is only limited to the 5K models as the smaller LG UltraFine 4K models do not appear to have any issues. If you’d like to place your order, just head on over to Apple’s website for the details.

Urbanears plays with colors for new earphones this Spring

bold-interstellarUrbanears would like to make sure your spring is a whole lot more fun and interesting with a few new colors for its earphone. The Urbanears’ SS17 colorways were certainly inspired by what its designers saw around them — taking bold shades of cosmic dust. Basically, it does not matter what kind of music genre that you listen to to get your groove on — as long as you place your ears with any of the following Urbanears earphones, you will come into contact with the likes of Comet Green, Cosmos Purple or Eclipse Blue.

These new earphone models are the Plattan 2 that will retail for $50 a pop, the more expensive $119 Plattan ADV Wireless, and for those who are on a budget, the $49 Sumpan. Why the shade of Comet Green? Well, Comet Green is described to be bright like the dusty tail of a shooting star, where this curious shade of pastel ought to be able to provide listeners with any thrill that they seek. Wearing a pair of earphones in Comet Green will certainly add a surprising color burst to everyday routines.

As for Cosmos Purple, it arrives in a deep shade that is wise like the eye of a nebula, which ought to be able to bring about a strange new order to one’s earthly mannerisms. Last but not least, there is Eclipse Blue, which is comfortable to wear in its own gemlike shadow, and is hypnotic to look at.

There are five standard Urbanears shades in the market: Indigo, Tomato, Black, Dark Grey, and White. Apart from these staples, there will be half a dozen seasonal colors that are set to join the mix every single year, allocating three for Fall/Winter, and three for Spring/Summer. Definitely a little bit of something for everyone from time to time to be fashionably chic even in the world of tech.
